역설계를 위한 3차원 모델형상 측정 (Measurements of 3D Model Shapes for Reverse Designs)

  • Reverse Design(RD) plays an important role in simulation engineering, such as CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and Virtual Engineering and Design. RD becomes much more valuable when there is no shape data of the practical models for CFD grid generations. In this study, two-camera based rapid prototyping(RP) system is proposed. 3D-PTV based measurement algorithm was adopted. The developed system was applied to reconstruct three-dimensional data of a human face, a motorcycle model, a cylindrical body and a triangular pyramid.

주름관에서의 압력강하와 마찰손실 계측에 관한 연구 (The study on the measurement for the pressure drop and friction factor of corrugated metal pipes)

  • The data for friction factor of the pipe correlated by Reynolds number and relative roughness have been reported well as a Moody chart. However, the results for corrugated shapes have been not investigated sufficiently. In this research, therefore, the pressure drop and friction factor are obtained. Flexible metal tubes with corrugations for the measurement are made of stainless steel plates. The kinds of tubes for the measurement are 5 annular types and helical types. The pressure drop & the velocity of the flow are obtained by micromanometer & digital pressure sensor, supplying dry air at several steps. Then the pressure drop is calculated for each tube, using the obtained data. The result shows that the pressure drop is strongly influenced by the viscous dissipation of kinetic energy due to the circulation of flows, rather than a viscous friction loss. The pressure drop increased consistently as the Reynolds number increases.

AR 환경에서의 지진 정보 가시화 방안 연구 (A Study on the Visualization of the Earthquake Information in AR Environments)

  • The earthquake is a natural disaster causing loss of life or property damage and happens more often in Korea recently. Moreover, considering the increase of massive buildings, it is required to predict and visualize the information of the vibration in a building. In this paper, we developed a prototype framework to visualize the displacement information in the AR environments. In order to avoid the irregular halts of the scene and the unnatural distortion of the object, this framework uses the synchronization method at the scene update time and the interpolation of the sensor data for the displacement of vertices. In addition, we studied displacement estimation methods with the acceleration data to extend this framework to the system with accelerators.

  • 본 논문에서는 수준별 깊이 정보를 이용하여 노드의 링크 정보를 시각화 도구를 구현하였다. 제한된 공간에서 다수의 노드 정보를 효과적으로 시각화하는 많은 연구가 있지만 기본 방법들은 2차원적인 도구가 대부분이고 각 노드의 링크를 표현하기 위하여 일정한 영역을 동일하게 할당하여 시각화한다. 이는 시각화 대상이 적을 경우에는 문제가 발생하지 않지만 대량의 데이터를 시각화하는 경우에는 연결 식별성이 저하되는 경향이 있다, 본 논문에서는 각 노드를 시각화할 때 수준별 깊이 정보를 이용하여 하위 노드의 수에 따른 가중치 기반으로 3차원 공간상에 시각화하여 보다 공간적 효율성과 식별성이 높은 시각화 방법을 제안 한다. 본 논문의 결과물은 연결성 정보를 시각화하는 영역에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 본 연구에서는 2차원적으로 획득된 3차원 자료를 데이타베이스 화하고 이를 3차원적으로 분석하는데 필요한 도구인 모델링 및 시각화 소프트웨어를 ArcView환경에서 개발하였다. 본 소프트웨어는 유한개의 수평 단면으로 입력되는 자료로부터 개체의 형태를 3차원 공간상에서 구성하고 시각화한다. 프로그램은 구성된 개체로부터 임의 방향과 경사를 가진 단면을 생성할 수 있으며 단면의 수정을 통하여 해석자가 원하는 형태로 모델을 개선하는 기능을 보유하고 있다.

  • 본 연구에서는 대용량의 야구 데이터를 R 패키지인 googleVis를 이용하여 시각화하는 웹페이지를 구축하고, 버블 차트로 시각화하여 표현하였다. 웹페이지에서는 시각화하는 객체를 버블로 나타내며, 객체는 타자, 투수, 팀 3가지이다. 각 객체의 속성들을 버블 색상, 버블 사이즈, X-Y좌표, 연도에 설정함으로써 5차원으로 시각화하여 표현할 수 있게 한다. 웹페이지 기능 중 타임슬립 애니메이션을 사용하여 시간의 흐름에 따른 기록 변화를 한 눈에 관찰할 수 있으며, 선수 검색 기능을 통해 특정 선수들을 선택하여 비교 및 분석하는 것이 가능하다.

Visualized Preference Transition Network Based on Recency and Frequency

  • Given a directed graph, we can determine how the user's preference moves from one product item to another. In this graph called "preference transition network", each node represents the product item while its edge pointing to the other nodes represents the transition of user's preference. However, with the large number of items make the network become more complex, unclear and difficult to be interpreted. In order to address this problem, this paper proposes a visualization technique in preference transition analysis based on recency and frequency. By adapting these two elements, the semantic meaning of each item and its transition can be clearly identified by its different types of node size, color and edge style. The experiment in a sales data has shown the results of the proposed approach.

  • We propose an image based three-dimensional shape determination system. The shape, and thus the three-dimensional coordinate information of the 3-D object, is determined solely from captured images of the 3-D object from a prescribed set of viewpoints. The approach is based on the shape from silhouette (SFS) technique and the efficacy of the SFS method is tested using a sample data set. This system may be used to visualize the 3-D object efficiently, or to quickly generate initial CAD data for reverse engineering purposes. The proposed system potentially may be used in three dimensional design applications such as 3-D animation and 3-D games.

Gated recurrent unit (GRU) 신경망을 이용한 적혈구 침강속도 예측 (Forecasting of erythrocyte sedimentation rate using gated recurrent unit (GRU) neural network)

  • In order to determine erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) indicating acute phase inflammation, a Westergren method has been widely used because it is cheap and easy to be implemented. However, the Westergren method requires quite a long time for 1 hour. In this study, a gated recurrent unit (GRU) neural network was used to reduce measurement time of ESR evaluation. The sedimentation sequences of the erythrocytes were acquired by the camera and data processed through image processing were used as an input data into the neural network models. The performance of a proposed models was evaluated based on mean absolute error. The results show that GRU model provides best accurate prediction than others within 30 minutes.

Insights of window-based mechanism approach to visualize composite biodata point in feature spaces

  • In this paper, we propose a window-based mechanism visualization approach as an alternative way to measure the seriousness of the difference among data-insights extracted from a composite biodata point. The approach is based on two components: undirected graph and Mosaab-metric space. The significant application of this approach is to visualize the segmented genome of a virus. We use Influenza and Ebola viruses as examples to demonstrate the robustness of this approach and to conduct comparisons. This approach can provide researchers with deep insights about information structures extracted from a segmented genome as a composite biodata point, and consequently, to capture the segmented genetic variations and diversity (variants) in composite data points.
