Two mini neutron monitors are installed at Concordia research station (Dome C, Central Antarctica, $75^{\circ}06^{\prime}S$, $123^{\circ}23^{\prime}E$, 3,233 m.a.s.l.). The site has unique properties ideal for cosmic ray measurements, especially for the detection of solar energetic particles: very low cutoff rigidity < 0.01 GV, high elevation and poleward asymptotic acceptance cones pointing to geographical latitudes > $75^{\circ}S$. The instruments consist of a standard neutron monitor and a "bare" (lead-free) neutron monitor. The instrument operation started in mid-January 2015. The barometric correction coefficients were computed for the period from 1 February to 31 July 2015. Several interesting events, including two notable Forbush decreases on 17 March 2015 and 22 June 2015, and a solar particle event of 29 October 2015 were registered. The data sets are available at cosmicrays.oulu.fi and nmdb.eu.
The objective of this study was to develop formability evaluation techniques in order to apply aluminum sandwich panel for automotive body parts. For this purpose, newly adopting formability evaluation (using limit dome height and plane strain test) was carried out in order to secure the fundamental data for the measurement of sheet metal forming and the establishment of optimum forming conditions of the aluminum sandwich panel. The results showed that there were good agreements between the old formability evaluation method and the new method which was more simplified than that of old one. From the results of these formability evaluation, the formability of sandwich panel was higher than that of aluminum alloy sheet alone which was the skin component for the sandwich panel. Also, it was found that sandwich panel could reduce the weight and could have the same flexural rigidity simultaneously when it was compared to the automotive steel sheet.
This study aimed to develop members with the optimum impact characteristics to ensure a protected space for passengers in the case of automobile collisions. Accordingly, these members were fabricated to provide sufficient rigidity and safety to the passenger room structure and to absorb large amounts of energy during collision. In particular, CFRP members were fabricated with different section shapes such as square and single- and double-hat shapes. Next, their impact collapse characteristics and collapse modes were quantitatively analyzed according to the changes in section shapes and stacking angles. This analysis was performed to obtain design data that can be applied in the development of optimum lightweight members for automobiles.
An approximate analysis is presented for multi-story setback buildings subjected to ground motions. Setback buildings with mass and stiffness discontinuities are common in modern architecture and quite often they are asymmetric in plan. The proposed analysis provides basic dynamic data (frequencies and peak values of base resultant forces) and furthermore an overview of the building response during a ground excitation. The method is based on the concept of the equivalent single story system, which has been introduced by the author in earlier papers for assessing the response of uniform in height buildings. As basic quantities of the dynamic response of elastic setback buildings can be derived by analyzing simple systems, a structural layout of minimum elastic rotational response can be easily constructed. The behavior of such structural configurations, which is basically translational into the elastic phase, is also examined into the post elastic phase when the strength assignment of the various bents is based on a planar static analysis under a set of lateral forces simulating an equivalent 'seismic loading'. It is demonstrated that the almost concurrent yielding of all resisting elements preserves the translational response, attained at the end of the elastic phase, to the post elastic one.

An analysis model for predicting the tip bearing capacity of drilled shafts in cohesionless soils is improved in this study. The evaluation is based on large amounts of drilled shaft load test data. Assessment on the analysis model reveals a greater variation in two coefficients, namely, the overburden bearing capacity factor ($N_q$) and the bearing capacity modifier for soil rigidity (${\zeta}_{qr}$). These factors are modified from the back analysis of drilled shaft load test results. Different effective shaft depths and interpreted capacities at various loading stages (i.e., low, middle, and high) are adopted for the back calculation. Results show that the modified bearing capacity coefficients maintain their basic relationship with soil effective friction angle ($\bar{\phi}$), in which the $N_q$ increases and ${\zeta}_{qr}$ decreases as $\bar{\phi}$ increases. The suggested effective shaft depth is limited to 15B (B = shaft diameter) for the evaluation of effective overburden pressure. Specific design recommendations for the tip bearing capacity analysis of drilled shafts in cohesionless soils are given for engineering practice.
Natural vibration period is an important parameter for high-rise building, Based on 414 high-rise buildings completed or passed over-limit approval in China, the distribution law of natural vibration periods is analyzied. In order to satisfy the design requirements, such as global stability, story drift limit and minimum shear-gravity ratio, the reference ranges of fundamental periods $T_1$ are $0.3{\sqrt{H}}{\sim}0.4{\sqrt{H}}$ when the structural heights $H{\geq}250m$, when 150 m ${\leq}$ H < 250m, $T_1=0.25{\sqrt{H}}{\sim}0.4{\sqrt{H}}$, when 100 m ${\leq}$ H < 150 m, $T_1=0.2{\sqrt{H}}{\sim}0.35{\sqrt{H}}$, when 50 m $ {\leq}$ H < 100m, $T_1=0.15{\sqrt{H}}{\sim}0.3{\sqrt{H}}$. These can provide reference data for controlling mass and rigidity of high-rise buildings.
The purpose of this study was to explore family perception of adolescence through the Kinetic Family Drawing (KFD), and to explore its relation with the family system. The Kinetic Family Drawing (KFD) and Family System Diagnosis Scale (FSDS) were administered to 356 adolescent children. Data were analyzed using the regression analysis and the discriminant analysis. The results were as follows: First, there was a significant difference among the KFD family adaptability variables of boys' KFD and the flexibility and rigidity variables of the FSDS in the family relationship. For example, That is; for sons', it means that if there is a greater the satisfaction for their family in their drawings, then the family relationship will be more flexible. Especially with the son's KFD, there was an indication that if there is a greater the activity level of the self, then he has more flexibility in his family relationship. Second, there is a significant difference in the relationship between the KFD family hierarchy variables of girls' KFD and the parent coalition·cross-generational triads variable of the FSDS. For girls 'KFD, the result of this study indicated that when there is a greater the distance between the father figure and the child figure, the cross-generational triads we greater.
The basal ganglia are a group of nuclei located in the deep portion of the brain. Along with the cerebellum, the basal ganglia have a major role in controlling human voluntary movements, and their dysfunction is apparently responsible for various involuntary movements. Although the exact mechanism of how the basal ganglia control movements has yet to be clarified, the model of focused selection (through the direct pathway) and tonic inhibition (via the indirect pathway) is proposed to be a principal functional model of the basal ganglia. Parkinson's disease (PD) is classically characterized by bradykinesia, rigidity and tremor-at-rest. All features seem to be associated with dopamine depletion resulting from the degeneration of the nigrostriatal pathway, which produces reduced activity of the direct pathway and a concurrent enhancement of excitatory output from STN. This change may result in increased tonic background inhibition and reduced focused selection via the direct pathway, causing difficulties in performing voluntary movements selectively. However, it has not been possible to define a single underlying pathophysiologic mechanism that explains all parkinsonian symptoms. Here the data that give separate understanding to each of the three classic features are discussed.

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the efficacy of modeling a surface effect ship's air-cushion flexible seal utilizing a two-dimensional beam under steady state conditions. This effort is the initial phase of developing a more complex three-dimensional model of the air-seal-water fluid-structure interaction. The beam model incorporates the seal flexural rigidity and mass with large deformations while assuming linear elastic material response. The hydrodynamic pressure is derived utilizing the OpenFOAM computational fluid dynamic (CFD) solver for a given set of steady-state flow condition. The pressure distribution derived by the CFD solver is compared with the pressure required to deform the seal beam model. The air pressure, flow conditions and seal geometry are obtained from experimental analysis. The experimental data was derived from large-scale experimental tests utilizing a test apparatus of a canonical surface effect ship's flexible seal in a towing tank over a variety of test conditions.
Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is an excellent candidate for antibiotics drug target, which mediates malonyl-CoA synthesis from acetyl-CoA through acetylation process. It is also involved in the committed step of fatty acid synthesis which is essential for living organisms. We have determined the three dimensional structure of C terminal domain of HP0371, biotin-carboxyl carrier protein of H. pyroli, in solution state using heteronuclear multi-dimensional NMR spectroscopy. The structure of HP0371 shows a flatten b-sheet fold which is similar with that of E. coli. However, the sequence and structure of protruding thumb are different with that of E. coli and the thumb shows different basis of structural rigidity based on backbone dynamics data.
