A Reference Value for Cook's Measure

  • A single outlier can influence on the least squares estimators and can invalidate analysis based on these estimators. The Cook's statistic has been introduced to measure influence of individual data point on parameter estimation and the quantile of the F distribution is recommended as a reference value. but in practice subjective judgement is applied in the choice of appropriate quantile. A simple reference value is introduced in this paper which is developed by approximating conditional quantities of Cook's measure. The performance of the proposed criterion is evaluated through analysis of real data set.

  • The b-value in the magnitude-frequency relationship logN(m) = $\alpha$ - bmwhere N(m) is the number of earthquakes exceeding magnitude m, is important seismicity parameter In hazard analysis. Estimation of the b-value for earthquake data observed on KSRS array network is done employing the maximum likelihood technique. Assuming the whole Korea Peninsula as a single seismic source area, the b-value is computed at 0.9. The estimation for KMA earthquake data is also similar to that. Since estimate is a function of minimum magnitude, we can inspect the completeness of earthquake catalog in the fitting process of b-value. KSRS and KMA data lists are probably incomplete for magnitudes less than 2.0 and 3.0, respectively. Examples from probabilistic seismic hazard assessment calculated for a range of b-value show that the small change of b-value has seriously effect on the prediction of ground motion.

의류상품 유형별 쇼핑스타일과 소비가치 관계 연구 (Examining the Relationship between Shopping Style and Consumption Value of Apparel Products)

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate differences in shopping style and consumption value of apparel product type, and to establish the effects of consumption value on shopping style. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 263 women aged between 20 to 49 in Gwangju on their shopping style and consumption value according to formal and casual product type. Collected data were subjected to frequency analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA, t-test and multiple regression analysis using statistical program SPSS(version 17.0). Results showed that shopping style could be influenced by six factors: fashion-recreational, quality-brand, impulsive, confused, brand-loyal, and price conscious consumer. Clothing consumption value was influenced by five factors: emotional, functional, epistemic, social, and situational value. Shopping style and clothing consumption value were significantly different between a formal product purchaser and a casual product purchaser. Consumption value had a significant influence on shopping style of the formal product purchaser and also the casual product purchaser.

  • Objectives : To determine the relationships among quality, satisfaction, value and purchase intention in health care service. Methods : The data were gathered from out-patients who had used hospital services. They were asked to assess service quality, satisfaction, service value, and purchase intention. A total of 557 usable questionnaires were gathered. The data were analyzed using SAS version 6.12. The analysis methods employed in the study were confirmatory analysis and covariance structural analysis. Results : Service quality exhibited a significant and positive relationship with satisfaction, service value, and purchase intention. Furthermore, satisfaction had a significant and positive relationship with purchase intention. And finally, service value had a significant and positive relationship with both satisfaction and purchase intention. Based on these findings, it is evident that satisfaction was a mediator between service quality and purchase intention. Also service value played a mediating role between service quality and satisfaction. Conclusions : These results suggest that service quality is an antecedent of satisfaction and sonics value, and exerts a stronger influence on purchase intentions than satisfaction and service value do. Thus, managers may need to emphasize service quality in health care.

복합상업시설 간판의 명도변화 색채구성 분석 (Analysis of Color Combination with Value Variation on Signboards in Complex Commercial Facilities)

  • Advertising signboards are designed for the visibility to affects recall and recognition of costumers. It is well know that the visibility from images is created by the value difference among colors. The research defines whether the background color combination of outdoor signboards is configured to maximize visibility, by a series of color value variation in complex commercial facilities. The subject of study is to examine how the visibility is made by the color combination since visibility cannot be obtained independently. Two steps of analysis were performed to confirm that the color composition of signboards was based on the color value difference. The first is to analyze that the entire colors of signboards are clearly categorized as different value groups. All components of colors, hue, value and chroma had been analyzed by color aesthetic measures to prove that the value variation has the only regularity and the principle of composition. The second step is a further verification with an ample amount of samples to determine whether series of signboards create a value altering pattern. The data for analysis is gained by colorimetric survey and the color data are used for exponentializing the degree of combining, which shows selective affinity between each pair colors.

Data-driven Value-enhancing Strategies: How to Increase Firm Value Using Data Science

  • This paper proposes how to design and implement data-driven strategies by investigating how a firm can increase its value using data science. Drawing on prior studies on architectural innovation, a behavioral theory of the firm, and the knowledge-based view of the firm as well as the analysis of field observations, the paper shows how data science is abused in dealing with meso-level data while it is underused in using macro-level and alternative data to accomplish machine-human teaming and risk management. The implications help us understand why some firms are better at drawing value from intangibles such as data, data-science capabilities, and routines and how to evaluate such capabilities.

소비자 조절초점이 명품브랜드의 가치와 브랜드태도의 관계에 미치는 조절효과 (The Moderating Effect of Perceived Values on The Luxury Brand Preference Depending on Consumers' Regulatory Focus)

  • 명품브랜드의 대중화는 소비자가 명품브랜드를 이용하는 방식과 소비하는 목적과 동기가 다양해진다는 것을 의미한다. 명품브랜드 시장을 보다 잘 이해하기 위해서는 차별화된 다양한 접근법이 필요하다. 본 연구는 명품 브랜드의 가치와 브랜드 선호도간 관계에서 조절초점 조절효과를 검토하는데 목적이 있다. 명품 브랜드에 대한 지각된 가치는 소비자의 조절초점성향에 따라 브랜드 태도에 미치는 영향에 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 품질가치와 경제적 가치는 향상초점 소비자집단보다 예방초점 소비자 집단에서 더 높게 나타난 반면에 심리적 가치는 예방초점 소비자 집단보다 향상초점 소비자집단에서 높게 나타났다. 또한, 향상초점 소비자일수록 과시적 가치와 감정적 가치가 명품브랜드 태도에 더 큰 영향을 미치는 반면, 예방초점 소비자일수록 품질가치와 경제적 가치를 더 중시하는 것으로 나타났다.

Investigating Factors Affecting Value Creation and Its Distribution on Company's Performance

  • Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of business processes, quality of human resources and organizational culture and its distribution in creating value to achieve competitive advantage. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: Data collection in this study was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 90 employees of Delivery service companies in Makassar City. Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis was used as data analysis. Result: this study indicates that business processes do not directly affect competitive advantage, but business processes will have an effect if they go through the value creation process as an intervening variable, while the quality of human resources and work environment have a direct effect on competitive advantage and have a direct effect on Value creation. The quality of human resources and organizational culture also have an indirect effect on competitive advantage through the value creation process. This research also indicates that value creation has an effect on competitive advantage. Conclusion: Competitive advantage will be realized if organizational processes run well, company management that able to carry out good organizational processes and able to create a conducive organizational culture, will be able to distribute company resources to create value that leads to achieving competitive advantage for companies in the future.

Improving the Gumbel analysis by using M-th highest extremes

  • Improvements to the Gumbel method of extreme value analysis of wind data made over the last two decades are reviewed and illustrated using sample data for Jersey. A new procedure for extending the Gumbel method to include M-th highest annual extremes is shown to be less effective than the standard method, but leads to a method for calibrating peak-over-threshold methods against the standard Gumbel approach. Peak-over-threshold methods that include at least the 3rd highest annual extremes, specifically the modified Jensen and Franck method and the "Method of independent storms" are shown to give the best estimates of extremes from observations.

  • 데이터 분석은 기존 데이터베이스 관리 도구로부터 데이터를 수집, 저장, 관리, 분석할 수 있는 역량을 말한다. 또한, 대량의 정형 또는 비정형 데이터 집합으로부터 가치를 추출하고 결과를 분석하는 기술을 의미한다. 따라서 메타분석은 여러 실증연구의 정량적인 결과를 통합과 분석을 통해 전체 결과를 조망할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 통계적 통합 방법이다. 전자상거래 연구에서 인지된 가치의 선행 외부요인들은 연구자에 따라서 다양하게 적용하여 연구되어오고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 주요 학회지에 게재된 인지된 가치 관련연구에서 어떠한 요인들을 사용하고 있고 또한 이러한 외부요인들이 인지된 가치 어느 정도의 설명력을 가지는지를 메타분석을 통해 알아보고자 한다. 따라서 연구결과를 바탕으로 학문적 실무적 의의를 논의하고자 한다.
