An Empirical Study on the Critical Success Factors of MRO e-marketplace (MRO e-marketplace의 성공 요인에 관한 탐색적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically identify the critical success factors of MRO e-marketplace. The research model presented in this study suggests that the success of MRO e-marketplace depends on environment of organization, type of product and service, and system of MRO e-marketplace. The major empirical findings of a survey of 38 firms in Korea are as follows: 1) The managers of firms have a deep concern on the effectiveness of MRO e-marketplace and are satisfied with the time saving provided by the transaction through MRO e-marketplace. 2) The variables affecting the success of MRO e-marketplace are classified into eight factors representing the characteristics of environment of organization, type of product and service, and system of MRO e-marketplace. 3) Among eight factors extracted from factor analysis, three factors are highly associated with the success of MRO e-marketplace. More specifically, the three factors, such as inside environment of company, capability of product supply, and basic function of MRO e-marketplace system, are the most Important factors affecting the success of MRO e-marketplace. The implications of the study are discussed and furlher research directions are proposed.

  • In B2B e-Marketplace for free gifts and goods, product-mix recommendation is provided frequently by analysing customer logs and/or performing collaborative and rules-based filtering. This study proposes a new process that encompasses the genetic algorithm and key working processes of B2B e-marketplace based on the previous cooperate client order data. Efficiency and accuracy of the proposed system have been confirmed by cross-confirmation of accumulated data in the e-marketplace. The system can provide better opportunities for manufactures and suppliers to select optimized product-mix without time consuming trials and errors in their B2B e-marketplace networks.

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically Investigate the critical success factors affecting the participation of B2B e-marketplace from a perspective of buyers and sellers. The research model presented in this study suggests that the success of B2B e-marketplace depends on the degree of participation of buyers and sellers. It is hypothesized that the participation of buyers and sellers is related with several contextual factors. The contextual factors included: (a) industry and market factor; (b) Internal environment factor; (c) product factor; (d) Inter-organizational factor; and (e) B2B e-marketplace system and strategy factor. An analysis of data from 31 buyer firms and 31 seller firms reveals that those five factors have a significant effect on the participation and success of B2B e-marketplace. The implications of the study are discussed and further research directions are proposed.

  • The main objective of this study is to examine the mediating effect of 'e-trust' on the relationship between the antecedents related to e-marketplace and the intention of using e-marketplace. Data was collected from a survey of 169 exporting firms in Gwangju, Korea. The results of the study are as follows ; First, 'e-trust' is produced a mediating effect when technology and government factors affect the intention of using e-marketplace. However, "e-trust" does not play a mediating role in the relationship between company factor and the intention of using e-marketplace. Second, technology factor, government factor and company factor have a positive impacts on the intention of using e-marketplace. Accordingly, in order to enhance the intention of using e-marketplace, small & medium exporting firms in Korea should try more to prepare for factors related to technology and company. In addition to these, government should give full support to be prepared for regulations and systems related to e-marketplace. If e-trust were properly built, the enhancement of using e-marketplace would be taken place more smoothly. So most of exporting firms can participate in e-marketplace more actively.

  • As the interest in the business-to-business electronic commerce is increasing, many companies are participating in the business-to-business e-marketplaces. As a result, it is important to develop understanding of behaviors of firms that use these e-marketplaces. For this purpose, e-marketplace usage company trust is proposed to affect commitment, long-term orientation and cooperation. This study, which used data from participating in the business-to-business e-marketplace companies, showed acceptable data-fit of proposed model and supported all of research hypotheses. The empirical results indicated that trust take significant effect on commitment, long-term orientation and cooperation, and the commitment affect long-term orientation and cooperation, and the commitment in turn have strong influence on long-term orientation and cooperation. It was confirmed that commitment variable is effective mediator linking trust and long-term orientation and cooperation.

  • This study examines various factors which influence the degree of Participation In B to B e-Marketplace. Based on literature review, six factors such as Information provision, IT infrastructure, trust, aggregation, new customer creation, and matching are identified. To collect the empirical data, survey methodology has been utilized. A total of 32 companies have returned completed responses. The results of analysis show high interdependencies between six factors and the degree of participation in e-Marketplace. In particular, aggregation is found to be the most influential factor. Additional analysis reveals that firms participating highly in e-Marketplace recognize aggregation and new customer creation the most important factors while less participating firms see IT infrastructure more important.

  • 예측 기관에 따라서 B2B의 시장 규모 및 성장률에 대한 차이는 있지만 B2B 시장이 빠른 속도로 성장하고 있으며, 이 같은 추세는 계속될 것이라는 점에 대한 이견은 없는 편이다. B2B는 기업에게 비용 절감과 시간 절약, 업무 효율성 증대 등의 다양한 효과를 제공해 줄 수 있기 때문에 앞으로도 그 중요성은 더 커질 것으로 예상된다. 그러나 B2B의 중요성 및 성장세와는 별도로 아직까지 B2B에 참여하는 기업들이 큰 효과를 거두지 못하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 이에 따라 많은 학자들과 컨설팅 회사들이 B2B의 모형, 추진 전략, 성공 요인들을 다양한 각도에서 제시하고 있다. 하지만 B2B에 대한 실증적 연구가 부족하여, 기업의 실무자들이 실질적인 도움을 얻기에는 부족한 점이 있기 때문에 B2B의 성공 요인과 추진 전략에 대한 실증적 연구가 절실히 필요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 B2B 유형 중 가장 널리 활용되고 있는 MRO e-marketplace의 성공에 영향을 주는 요인들을 실증적으로 분석하는 것이다. MRO e-marketplace의 성공 요인을 환경적 특성, 제품 특성, B2B 사이트 특성 등 3 그룹으로 분류한 후, 38개 기업에서 수집된 설문지를 분석하여 MRO e-marketplace의 성공 요인을 실증적으로 분석하였다. MRO e-marketplace의 성공 요인들을 요인 분석한 결과, 기업 내부 환경 요인, 기업 외부 환경 요인, 제품 정보 요인, 제품 공급 능력 요인, 사이트 기본 기능 요인, 사이트 편의성 요인, 사이트 보안성 요인 등 총 8개 요인으로 분류되었다. 한편 MRO e-marketplace의 도입 효과를 측정한 비용 절감, 시간 절약, 업무 효율성 증대, 거래 투명성 증대 등의 4개의 문항은 하나의 요인으로 묶여, 이를 MRO e-marketplace 성공으로 정의하였다. MRO e-marketplace의 성공에 영향을 미치는 요인을 찾기 위해, 추출된 8개 요인과 MRO e-marketplace 성공 간의 상관 관계를 분석하였다. 8개 요인 중에서 기업 내부 환경 요인, 제품 공급 능력 요인, 사이트 기본 기능 요인이 MRO e-marketplace의 성공에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 MRO e-marketplace 성공 요인들의 상대적 중요도를 파악하기 위해 회귀 분석을 실시하였는데, 참여 기업의 내부 환경 요인이 가장 큰 중요한 것으로 나타났고, 그 다음은 제품 공급 능력 요인과 사이트 기본 기능 요인으로 나타났다. 이 같은 실증적 결과는 MRO e-marketplace나 B2B의 성공을 위해서는 참여 기업의 내부 환경 조성이 매우 중요함을 시사해 준다. 또한 참여 기업의 제품 공급 능력 요인 역시 MRO e-marketplace의 성공에 직접적인 영향을 주기 때문에 공급기업들의 제품 공급 능력을 높이는데 노력해야 한다. 또한 MRO e-marketplace를 운영하는 기업들은 사이트의 기능을 높이는데 많은 노력을 기울여야 한다는 것을 시사하고 있다. MRO e-marketplace의 성공 요인을 실증적으로 분석한 본 연구의 결과는 MRO e-marketplace와 B2B의 추진 전략의 이론적 모형 개발에 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 또한 본 연구의 결과는 MRO e-marketplace와 B2B의 성공을 높이기 위한 추진 전략을 수립하는데 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The E-Servqual Effect on the Stickiness Intention of Marketplace During COVID-19 Pandemic: An Empirical Study in Indonesia

  • This paper examines the effect of e-service quality on the users of the Facebook marketplace. Users can always have stickiness intention. Stickiness intention is regarded as repetitive visits to and use of a certain website because of a commitment to continue using that website. Hence, we examine and explain the influence of e-service quality variables on stickiness intention. The variables used for e-service quality include efficiency, fulfillment, system availability, and privacy. The researchers related stickiness intention variable to online media users who always use the Facebook marketplace longer than other marketplaces, and users who visit the Facebook marketplace more often than other marketplaces. The method of data analysis was using inferential statistics GeSCA method. The GeSCA method is a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique that can directly analyze latent variables, indicators, and measurement errors. The results of the GeSCA method before the COVID-19 pandemic states that an increase in e-service quality by 77.5% will increase stickiness intention by 61.2%. The results of the GeSCA method after the COVID-19 pandemic states that an increase in e-service quality by 85.2% would increase stickiness intention by 81.1%. This indicates that Facebook marketplace users had more stickiness intention for the Facebook marketplace.

  • Vertical e-Marketplaces have been expanded because of their enough funds and purchasing power, while horizontal e-Marketplaces have not been grown. On the e-Marketplace which is dealing electronic components with the characteristics of short life cycle and diversities, if an e-Marketplace participant holds a large quantity of the same kinds of components, it will result in lowering competitiveness of the company because of its unuseful inventory. Therefore, as a method for increasing competitiveness of e-Marketplace participants, we proposed the inventory sharing method among the participants, and then designed and implemented it in this paper. For providing inventory sharing function, the e-Marketplace system needs intermediary because each system of participants participating e-Marketplace uses its own DBMS respectively. In this paper, we implemented inventory sharing function using XML, which is a standard for exchanging data, as intermediary, and showed an example of the implemented system.

  • Online marketplace represents the triad relationship among the consumer, the intermediary, and the seller community. However there have been a limited number of studies conducted with the view of the triad relationship, which have produced contradictory and mixed results. The purpose of this study is (1) to find trust factors affecting consumers' transaction intention-trust in intermediary and trust in community of sellers, and (2) to investigate the directionality of trust transfer between those factors. To do this, the study sets and tests a bidirectional model. Based on the study results, the study discusses that both trust in intermediary and trust in community of sellers are important to consumers' transaction decision in online marketplace, and trust transfer in online marketplace flows from intermediary to community of sellers.
