  • The research aims to evaluate college students' financial behavior and provide empirical insight into factors that may influence their financial behavior by investigating whether financial socialization, financial experience, and financial literacy are meaningful for students' financial behavior. The surveys data was conducted with 595 college students from all over Indonesia then analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results demonstrate that financial socialization positively influences financial literacy and financial behavior. On the other hand, financial experience has a negative influence on financial literacy, yet a positive one on financial behavior. Furthermore, the result also shows financial socialization are the key determinant of financial literacy and financial literacy is vital and plays an essential role for financial behavior and it may derive from financial socialization and financial literacy. It indicates that the influence of social agents can benefit students in improving their financial literacy and behavior. However, experience also can influence their financial behaviors. Students with sufficient financial knowledge and exhibiting good financial behavior can make wise decisions in financial planning and management, thus may prevent financial issues in the future.

  • The historical aspects, policies, institutions, awards and measurement results of scientific literacy and scientific culture development in Indonesia have currently attracted further exploration. This paper utilizes secondary data research, further analyzed by employing the Supplementary Analysis technique. The results revealed that the tradition of writing and publishing scientific journals in Indonesia has existed ever since the Dutch East Indies with the journal's publication entitled 'Natuurkundig tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch Indië' in 1850. To date, Indonesia has owned 5,990 nationally accredited journals. Policy support has been provided at the national and regional levels, despite limitations in cultivating literacy and reading habit. From the institutional perspective, Indonesia provides a wide array of public support, including the effort of the Ministry of Education and Culture for advocating the national literacy movement and the availability of a reference database and scientific access established by the National Library; the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, and the Ministry of Research and Technology. Similarly, in the award-related perspective, the Indonesia government has granted awards to individuals or groups and local governments engaging in the cultivation of scientific literacy and scientific culture. However, among the global measurements for literacy development in Indonesia (in 2020) recorded that three indicators scored less than those in 2019.

  • Financial literacy (FL) is significant, as educated investors have a culture of savings and investment. The current study was conducted to identify the level of Orientation toward finance (ORTOFIN) and its impact on specific financial behavior variables like Financial Literacy (FL) and Intention towards investment (ITI). Data was randomly collected from 210 gainfully employed respondents using three standardized questionnaires. Demographics of the respondents were also collected. The data was analyzed using correlation and regression. The variables include ORTOFIN, Financial Literacy, and Intention towards Investment, while the control variables include gender, age, qualification, years of experience, and type of industry working. The results of the study show that all three variables (ORTOFIN, FL, and ITI) had significant relationships among themselves. In addition, it as has been found that ORTOFIN and FL positively influence investment intention. The finding that ORTOFIN and literacy are related to investment intention is new, as no past studies have examined this aspect, which is unique. The study also discusses the implications and limitations of the study, such as the impact of family involvement. It thus indicates a positive effect of the variables studied on investment intentions. The study is expected to stimulate further empirical examination of the variables.
