After the spread of the data collection devices such as smart meters, energy data is increasingly collected in a variety of ways, and its importance continues to grow. However, due to technical or practical limitations, errors such as missing or outliers in the data occur during data collection process. Especially in the case of customer-related data, billing problems may occur, so energy companies are conducting various research to process such data. In addition, efforts are being made to create added value from data, which makes it difficult to provide such services unless reliability of data is guaranteed. In order to solve these challenges, this research analyzes prior research related to bad data processing specifically in the energy field, and propose new missing value processing methods to improve the reliability and field utilization of energy data.
In a distributed system environment, such as a cloud database, the tail latency needs to be kept short to ensure uniform quality of service. In this paper, through experiments on a Cassandra database, we show that long tail latency is caused by a lack of memory space because the database cannot receive any request until free space is reclaimed by writing the buffered data to the storage device. We observed that, since the performance of the storage device determines the amount of time required for writing the buffered data, the performance degradation of Solid State Drive (SSD) due to garbage collection results in a longer tail latency. We propose a garbage collection synchronization technique, called SyncGC, that simultaneously performs garbage collection in the java virtual machine and in the garbage collection in SSD concurrently, thus hiding garbage collection overheads in the SSD. Our evaluations on real SSDs show that SyncGC reduces the tail latency of $99.9^{th}$ and, $99.9^{th}-percentile$ by 31% and 36%, respectively.

This study was performed to analyze collection parameters for food wastes, which were used to estimate man power and vehicles required to collect those. For this purpose, collection activities were separated into unit operations, such as a pickup, a haul and at-site, and design data that can be used generally were developed by survey and interpretation. In case of a detached dwelling area, the pickup time to collect 1ton of food wastes(Phcs) was $3.3man{\cdot}hour$ and haul time was 22.4km/hour. At-site time of a collection vehicle to load 2.5ton of food wastes was 5minutes and that time was varied according to the loading quantity of vehicles. The estimation of collection time(Thcs), required to move 2.5ton of food wastes from a pickup location to a treatment facility in the same condition for vehicles and man power, showed that Thcs for an apartment area was 3.03hours and for a detached dwelling area was three times as much as that of for the apartment area. More data should be required to evaluate both typical variables associated with collection activities and the variables related to particular district types.

This study aims to derive basic living service facility items in rural areas and construct related spatial data. To do this, a literature review on the laws and systems related to the residential environment and services in rural areas, rural spatial planning, and the 'Rural Convention' strategic plan reports for the Jeolla and Gyeongsang Region in 2021 was conducted. Primary data collection and review on the list of basic living service items in rural areas derived from the analysis were conducted. After data collection, 12 sectors and 44 types of rural basic living service items were derived; the data selection was carried out based on the clarity of the subject of data management, whether it was established nationwide, whether it was disclosed and provided, whether it was periodically updated, and whether it was an underlying law. Afterwards, data on the derived rural basic living service items were constructed. Afterwards, spatial data on the derived rural basic living service items were constructed. Because open data provided through various institutions were employed, data structure unification such as data attribute values and code names was needed, and abnormal data such as address errors and omissions were refined. After that, the data provided in text form was converted into spatial data through geocoding, and through comparative review of the distribution status of the converted data and the provided address, spatial data related to rural basic living services were finally constructed for about 540,000 cases. Finally, implications for data construction for diagnosing rural living areas were derived through the data collection and construction process. The derived implications include data unification, data update system establishment, the establishment of attribute values necessary for rural living area diagnosis and spatial planning, data establishment plan for facilities that provide various services, rural living area analysis method, and diagnostic index development. This study is meaningful in that it laid the foundation for data-based rural area diagnosis and rural planning, by selecting the basic rural living service items, and constructing spatial data on the selected items.

The tradeoff between energy conservation and traffic balancing is a dilemma problem in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). By analyzing the intrinsic relationship between cluster properties and long distance transmission energy consumption, we characterize three node sets of the cluster as a theoretical foundation to enhance high performance of WSNs, and propose optimal solutions by introducing rendezvous and Mobile Elements (MEs) to optimize energy consumption for prolonging the lifetime of WSNs. First, we exploit an approximate method based on the transmission distance from the different node to an ME to select suboptimal Rendezvous Point (RP) on the trajectory for ME to collect data. Then, we define data transmission routing sequence and model rendezvous planning for the cluster. In order to achieve optimization of energy consumption, we specifically apply the economic theory called Diminishing Marginal Utility Rule (DMUR) and create the utility function with regard to energy to develop an adaptive energy consumption optimization framework to achieve energy efficiency for data collection. At last, Rendezvous Transmission Algorithm (RTA) is proposed to better tradeoff between energy conservation and traffic balancing. Furthermore, via collaborations among multiple MEs, we design Two-Orbit Back-Propagation Algorithm (TOBPA) which concurrently handles load imbalance phenomenon to improve the efficiency of data collection. The simulation results show that our solutions can improve energy efficiency of the whole network and reduce the energy consumption of sensor nodes, which in turn prolong the lifetime of WSNs.

Widespread use of Internet despite numerous positive aspects resulted in increased number of system intrusions and the need for enhanced security mechanisms is urgent. Systematic collection and analysis of log data are essential in intrusion investigation. Unfortunately existing logs are stored in diverse and incompatible format thus making an automated intrusion investigation practically impossible. We examined the types of log data essential in intrusion investigation and implemented a tool to enable systematic collection and efficient analysis of voluminous log data. Our tool based on RBDMS and SQL provides graphical and user-friendly interface. We describe our experience of using the tool in actual intrusion investigation and explain how our tool can be further enhanced.
Factory energy management system is rapidly growing and evolving due to factors such as the 3rd Basic Energy Plan and global energy cost increases, as well as environmental issues. However, implementing an essential data collection system for energy management in factory settings, which have limited space and unique characteristics, presents spatial, environmental, and energy-related challenges. This paper endeavors to mitigate these challenges by devising a data collection system implemented through an edge-based lightweight platform. A comparison and evaluation of database operation on edge devices are conducted. To conduct the evaluation, a benchmarking tool called CDI Benchmark is developed, utilizing the characteristics of existing factories involved in practical applications. The evaluation results revealed that RDBMS systems like MySQL encountered errors in the database due to high data insertion loads, making them inoperable. On the other hand, InfluxDB, thanks to its highly efficient compression algorithm, demonstrated compression rates about 6 times higher than MyRocks according to the evaluation. However, it was observed that MyRocks outperformed InfluxDB by a significant margin, recording a maximum processing time approximately 80 times faster compared to InfluxDB.

In Korea, more than half of medical libraries are small.sized hospital libraries operated under the single.librarian system, and it is keenly required to establish collection management policies for exchanging resources with other libraries and maintaining consistency. however, it is rare to set up their collection management policies on the web among the domestic medical libraries. Thus, this study purposed to survey cases of collection management policies in domestic and foreign medical libraries and to provide basic information and ideas for Korean medical libraries that are preparing collection management policies. As long as core requirements are satisfied, collection management policies do not have a way. Thus, this case study is expected to provide useful ideas to medical libraries developing their collection management policies. For this purpose, we selected 12 survey items based on previous studies, and investigated one domestic and five foreign medical libraries, and analyzed collected data. Based on the results of analyzing the cases, we suggested 12 guidelines.
In this study, we report an investigation for the charging and collection of aerosol nanoparticles in an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) according to particle charging and diffusion effects. The competition between charging probability and diffusion effect determines the collection efficiency of nanoparticles in the ESP. In conclusion, collection efficiency continuously decreased with the reduction in the particle size. This indicates that poor partial charging effect of nanoparticles is more dominant than their diffusion effect in the ESP for the nanoparticles in the particle size range of 4-20 nm. Theoretical calculations using a unipolar diffusion charing theory were in good agreement with the experimental data for the nanoparticles less than 20 nm in diameter.
