Language learning involves linguistic environments around the learner. So the variation in training input to which the learner is exposed has been linked to their language learning. We explore how linguistic experiences can cause differences in learning linguistic structural features, as investigate in a probabilistic graphical model. We manipulate the amounts of training input, composed of natural linguistic data from animation videos for children, from holistic (one-word expression) to compositional (two- to six-word one) gradually. The recognition and generation of sentences are a "probabilistic" constraint satisfaction process which is based on massively parallel DNA chemistry. Random sentence generation tasks succeed when networks begin with limited sentential lengths and vocabulary sizes and gradually expand with larger ones, like children's cognitive development in learning. This model supports the suggestion that variations in early linguistic environments with developmental steps may be useful for facilitating language acquisition.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine relationships between optimism, coping and peer relations on mental wellbeing in adolescents, and to identify contributing factors on their mental wellbeing. Methods: A total of 132 students recruited from two middle schools. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: Adolescents' mental wellbeing was $4.23{\pm}0.84$. Their mental wellbeing was significantly influenced by optimism (${\beta}=.44$), peer relational skills (${\beta}=.21$), and active coping (${\beta}=.20$), explained 49.1% of the total variance. Conclusion: Considering the results of this study, optimism enhancement program for promoting adolescents' mental wellbeing should be builded. In addition, active coping skills and peer relational skills acquisition program need to be developed.

Cost estimation has posed a significant challenge to estimators, planners, and managers in both government and military. Considerable historical evidence shows that accurate cost estimation has been difficult to achieve across a wide range of projects, including weapon systems. This paper introduces new cost estimating concept, CAIV(Cost As an Independent Variable) and a cost estimating case study using PRICE model, computer aided parametric estimating models(CAPE) for K1 tank cost estimate. CAIV concept is to set realistic but aggressive cost objectives easily in each acquisition program and to achieve cost, schedule, and performance objectives considering various managing risks with a project manager and industry teams. The Price model is one of computer aided cost estimating models and widely used in U.S. defense system analysis as a tool for CAIV. We analyze theories, inputs, outputs of the PRICE model and present a case study for K1 tank to estimate costs in requirement and concept phase, program and budgeting phase, and life cycle phase. Finally we obtain results that the Price model can be used in various phases of PPBEES depending upon available data and time.

Many instrumentations have been used to acquire the performance data of military systems fer many years. But they could not satisfy environmental specifications(vibration, shock, temperature) and processing speed to apply for the performance test of military systems because of having developed as common vehicles/fixed installation equipments. Thus a new rugged embedded measurement system is required to process large data in high processing speed(Maximum sample rate:1.25Mhz/ch) with rugged environmental specifications. We have developed embedded measurement systems by using PXI(PCI extension for Instrumentation)bus interface composed of a stand alone controller and versatile data acquisition boards(analog, digital, vision, temperature and small signal conditioner) on PC-based environment to solve these problems. Operation programs have been developed using Lab_View and the performances have been validated experimentally.

Spin coaters are the essential instruments in micro-fabrication processes, which apply uniform thin films to flat substrates. In this research, a spin coater diagnosis system is developed to detect the abnormal operation of TFT-LCD process in real time. To facilitate the real-time data acquisition and analysis, the circular-buffered continuous data transfer and the short-time Fourier transform are applied to the fault diagnosis system. To determine whether the system condition is normal or not, a steady-state detection algorithm and a frequency spectrum comparison algorithm using confidence interval are newly devised. Since abnormal condition of a spin coater is rarely encountered, algorithm is tested on a CD-ROM drive and the developed program is verified by a function generator. Actual threshold values for the fault detection are tuned in a spin coater in process.

A multi-channel seismic system has been developed and applied for bedrock mapping in near shore environment. The system is composed of an analog signal processor and an A/D converter installed on the computer, and a streamer with the group interval of 5 meters. The system is accomplished with a data acquisition program which controls the system and a data processing software. With the PC-based shallow marine seismic survey system high-resolution 2-D marine seismic profiles which have high S/N ratios can be obtained after appropriate data processing.

In this research, the digital signal processing PC board which employs TI's TMS320C25 is implemented. The board can perform following functions. spectrum analysis of speech and repetitive signal, digital filters emulation by convolution, signal generation of sinusoidal wave, rectangular wave etc.. In this system, communications between PC and DSP board. program down-loading to DSP board and recording and graphic of acquired and processed data in DSP board are executed by PC. Parallel interface and buffer memory are used in communications. Data acquisition and operation are carried out in DSP board. Resultant data are transmitted to PC and output through DAC.

RAZAKSAT is a second micro-satellite mission by Malaysian Satellite Program and is expected for launch in June 2004. Designed to orbit the earth at low-equatorial orbit, RAZAKSAT will meet Malaysia’s immediate needs to rapid data acquisition (real time and more repetitions) to address many operational issues of remote sensing applications, which require availability of current data sets. RAZAKSAT will be among the first remote sensing satellite to orbit the earth at low inclination along the equator, 9$^{\circ}$ with 685km altitude, hence, allows optimal geographical information and environment change within equatorial region be observed with a unique revisit characteristics. The satellite primary payload is MAC, a push-broom type camera with 2.5m of ground sampling distance (GSD) in panchromatic band and 5m of GSD in four multi-spectral bands. This paper describes on the variation of illumination anticipated from simulated RAZAKSAT image, examine its implication to its ground leaving radiances for major applications.

To analyze dental hygienists and other manpower at dental care service institutions where a dental coordinator was working among about 200 dental care service institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Incheon as of June 2005 for contents of training for dental coordinators, opinions of qualification of dental coordinators, present and future services provided by dental coordinators, and awareness of dental coordinators and to provide basic data about future services, roles, and cultivation of dental coordinators, a survey was conducted and 216 copies returned were analyzed, obtaining the following results. 1. 83.8 percent needed an educational program for dental coordinators as an educational content; 41.7% had awareness of the educational content; and 83.8 percent insisted that over the intermediate level of curricula should be taken. Dental coordinator cultivation institutions identified included the institution under the control of the Korean Dental Hygienists Association and the education center for the department of dental hygiene; 76.9% insisted that an appropriate qualifying examination should be necessary. They suggested the central government department and the local government as a certification institution; 39.4% insisted that financial support for the education should be provided by financing education alone. Only 28.7% experienced dental coordinator education and 73.1% hoped to serve as a dental coordinator. They were found to expect a rise in payment(64.4%) and in the title(46.8%) after completion of the educational program. 2. 66.2% saw a dental hygienist as the most appropriate for a dental coordinator; clinical career (39.4%) and practical capacity(29.2%) were suggested as requirements for a dental coordinator; and a period of over three years(47.2%) was suggested for appropriate dental career. 3. Dental coordinators' present services included 'reservation management' for customer management, 'staff service training' for organization management, 'understanding of customer reception attitudes and actions' for self-management, 'hospital information management' for hospital marketing, 'acceptance' for hospital affairs management, and 'hospital environment management' for hospital facilities management; their future services included 'acquisition of ability to use a foreign language' for self-management, followed by 'staff service training' for organization management, 'training and counseling' for customer management, 'acquisition of counseling capacity' for self-management, 'complaining customer reception' for customer management, and 'marketing strategy implementation' for hospital marketing. 4. After comparing dental hygienists and other manpower in terms of dental coordinators' future services, dental hygienists showed interest in 'acquisition of ability to use a foreign language,' 'staff service training,' 'complaining customer reception,' and 'acquisition of counseling capacity' while other manpower showed interest in 'acquisition of ability to use a foreign language,' 'document data management,' 'acquisition of basic service manner,' 'acquisition of counseling capacity,' 'manpower management,' 'establishment and evaluation of a marketing strategy,' and 'education and counseling.' 5. As for awareness of dental coordinators, they were thought of as helpful in improving image of a dental clinic; it was found that continuous training should be necessary to develop dental coordinators' capacity; dental coordinators' services should be important and contribute to patients' qualitative satisfaction.

일반적으로 대형 지붕구조나 초대형 보와 같은 대형 구조물을 양중하는 방법은 유압잭이 이용된다. 또한, 양중시 안전을 위하여 CCTV를 이용하여 각 포인트에 설치된 줄자를 모니터링하여 레벨체크를 수행하고, 상대 변위가 기설정된 한계를 벗어나면 유압잭을 정지하고 상대변위를 수동으로 조정한 후에 양중을 수행하였다. 그러나, 이러한 종래의 양중 방법은 CCTV를 육안으로 확인하여 레벨을 체크하기 때문에 정확도가 높지 않았고, 실시간 계측은 현실적으로 불가능하였다. 이러한 문제를 개선하기 위하여 자동추적형 토탈스테이션, 레이저 거리계, 데이터로거, 변형도게이지 등을 이용하여 대형 구조물 양중시 적용할 수 있는 계측-평가 시스템 구축하였다. 시스템을 구현하기 위한 프로그램 작성 후 실험실에서 시연을 통해 계측-평가 데이터의 정확성 및 활용 가능성을 평가하였으며, 안정적인 데이터 취득 및 연산을 통해 적용성이 검증되었다.
