Sessile barnacle, Balanus trigonus Darwin, was collected from the intertidal rocks and the external shells of bivalve Mylius coruscus. The nauplius and cyprid larvae were cultured in a constant temperature cabinet at a temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ and a light regime of 14 h light and 10 h darkness. Larval development includes the six nauplius stages and a cyprid stage prior to settlement and metamorphosis to the young adult. Morphological characteristics including antennules, antennae and mandibles are described and illustrated. All nauplius larvae have trilobed labra typical in balanoides. The developmental time taken from newly hatched nauplius I to cyprid was $9\~13$ days and averaged 11 days.

As is evident from its definition, Southern Oscillation Index variability conformed to a combination of the variations of Darwin and Tahiti pressure. Over the El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ Southern Oscillation spectra, the Darwin pressure shared variations associated with the SSN tendency while the Tahiti had a connection with the stratospheric quasi-biennial oscillation modulating annual cycle. The power peak near the 3.5-year period comprised the third harmonic of the sun and the second of the modulated annual cycle. The derived harmonics came from both sources, so the initiation of El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ could be predicted more successfully when including the effects of the sun and QBO.

Okakura Kakuz$\bar{o}$ (1863-1913), the founder of the Japan Art Institute, is best known for his proclamation, "Asia is One." This phrase in his book, The Ideals of the East, and his connections to Bengali revolutionaries resulted in Okakura being remembered as one of Japan's foremost Pan-Asianists. He did not, however, write The Ideals of the East as political propaganda to justify Japanese aggression; he wrote it for Westerners as an exposition of Japan's aesthetic heritage. In fact, he devoted much of his life to the preservation and promotion of Japan's artistic heritage, giving lectures to both Japanese and Western audiences. This did not necessarily mean that he rejected Western philosophy and theories. A close examination of his views of both Eastern and Western art and history reveals that he was greatly influenced by Hegel's notion of dialectics and the evolutionary theories proposed by Darwin and Spencer. Okakura viewed cross-cultural encounters to be a catalyst for change and saw his own time as a critical point where Eastern and Western history was colliding, causing the evolution of both artistic cultures.

The impacts of El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon on climate are widespread and extend far beyond the tropical Pacific. The phenomenon can be characterized by Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) which is derived from values of the monthly mean sea level pressure barometric difference between Tahiti and Darwin, Australia. Its best-known extreme is the El Nino event. In this study, general statistical characteristics of SOI and the data from which it is derived (i.e. mean sea level pressure data at Tahiti and Darwin) are presented as guidance when using SOI far other analyses. The characteristics include the availability of the barometric pressure data, statistics of monthly pressure data, correlation of SO intensity, frequency analysis of SOI by magnitude and by month (January-December), duration properties of SOI by run analysis.

Evolutionary Artificial Neural Networks (EANNs) has been highly effective in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and in training NPCs in video games. When EANNs is applied to design game NPCs' smart AI which can make the game more interesting, there always comes two important problems: the more complex situation NPCs are in, the more complex structure of neural networks needed which leads to large operation cost. In this paper, the Dynamic State Evolutionary Neural Networks (DSENNs) is proposed based on EANNs which deletes or fixes the connection of the neurons to reduce the operation cost in evolution and evaluation process. Darwin Platform is chosen as our test bed to show its efficiency: Darwin offers the competitive team game playing behaviors by teams of virtual football game players.

Breast cancer (BC) is potentially a traumatic stressor which may be associated with negative outcomes, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or positive changes, such as post-traumatic growth (PTG). This study aims to identify the core issues of BC related PTSD, PTG and psychological distress by interrogating the literature in BC survivors. We have also highlighted issues related to the assessment, diagnosis and clinical management of PTSD and PTG. The authors systematically reviewed studies published from 1985 to 2014 pertaining to PTSD, psychological distress and PTG in BC survivors with particular attention paid to incidence rates and causative factors. Multiple studies intimated that women with BC have evidence of PTSD at the initial stages of diagnosis, whereas PTG develops once patients undergo treatment. Early diagnosis and treatment of PTSD/PTG is paramount from literature review but the previously mentioned relationship between PTSD and PTG in BC patients could not be verified. It is evident from the literature that a small percentage of BC patients experience PTSD, while the majority experience PTG after BC diagnosis and treatment. Future research should include prospective studies focusing on high-risk patients, causative factors and the development of psychological interventions.

In this paper, we critically survey the mathematical Platonism in respect to its abstract, ahistorical, asocial and acultural character.
