In this work, the effect of the correction fibers direction on the efficiency of repairing damaged composite plates was highlighted. The composite plates studied in this work consist of eight layers of graphite/epoxy, while the patch used in this repair consists of four layers of the same type. The results obtained in this work, whether with regard to the experimental or analytical side, showed that the fibers orientation affects the repair efficiency, so the closer the angle of fibers inclination is to the tensile strength direction, the performance of the composite material is ideal. Hence, we conclude that the composite materials with longitudinal fibers (Parallel to tensile strength) is the most powerful and efficient material in performance.

Airplanes in flight collide with raindrops, and the leading edges of the airframe can be damaged when colliding with raindrops. A single waterjet testing platform was created to study rain erosion damage. Carbon fiber samples with three types of skins were studied and the mechanical properties were measured using a nanoindentation instrument. The research results show that the impact force on the sample increases with the continuous increase in the impact speed of raindrops, which leads to an increase in the damage area. Sheathing with low surface roughness is more damaged than other sheathings due to its rougher surface, and the result proves that surface roughness has a more significant effect on rain erosion damage to sheathings compared to their hardness.

In order to repair sewage pipes, it is necessary to dig up the damaged sewage pipes, which results in traffic jams. Since digging up the pipes takes too much time and cost, this method is inefficient. So, in stead of digging up the damaged pipes, a robot is sent down to the pipe to do the repair works. For big pipes, human workers go into the pipe and do to repair works, but for small pipes, it is impossible for human worker to go inside the pipe. In this case, mobile robots have used. The procedures for repairing pipes are as follows : First, the condition of the sewage pipes is observed by a robot. Second, appropriate steps for repair are determined according to the types of the damage. While repairing procedures, a newly-developed packer is sent into the sport to be repaired inside the pipe. Then, the packer is filled with air by a V-shaped wrinkel pipe. This makes the packer inflates uniformly and adhere closely to the inside wall of the pipe in large area. This increases the area that can be repaired. Therefore, the newly-developed packer will be very helpful for sewage pipe repair works.
Visitor's impact on environmental deterioration of and around trail was studied in Hallasan National Park, Korea in 1990. Width of tread and width of bareland beside trail were correlative positively to user's density, negatively to height of vegetation and slope, respectively. Depth of tread was correlative highly to width of tread and width of bareland beside trail. Areal deterioration by visitors almost took place on subalpine zone. Total damaged area was kestimated to be 121, 000$m^2$ and the damaged area more severe than impact rating class 4 reached about 72.000$m^2$, respectively. Ten types of deterioration of and around trail were discovered and total volume of erosion to be recovered was estimated to be about 62.000$m^2$.
This study was carried out to establish a management plan for urban forest trails with analysis of trail damage types and soil physicochemical properties on 3 urban forest parks in Jinju, Gyeongnam-do. We found that soil hardness was significantly higher in forest trails than forest area at 0 cm and 5 cm at a significance level of 0.05. However, we could not find any significant differences for other soil properties. For the trail damage types, the most common types were as follows: trail expansion (66%), trail erosion (59%), side road (57%), and trail boundary erosion and root exposure (41%). The results showed no difference in most of these types between the trails and forest area, indicating that the forest area might be damaged as well as the trails. Priority should be given to prepare measures that prevent soil compaction from overcrowded hikers.

This study aimed to classify damaged lands, to find what are the damage factors affecting the studied area, and to present a prescription in order to provide some benefit for the restoration of Regional Ecological Network at Chungnam province. Finally we classified damaged lands from 1st to 4th damaged lands according to relative intensity of damage. The main damage factors for the First Damage Lands were humus horizon, soil hardness and plant species richness. In the Second Damage Lands, those were soil hardness, plant species richness, number of plants and dominant plant species. In the Third Damage Lands, those were humus horizon, soil hardness, plant species richness, number of plants and dominant plant species. In the Fourth Damage Lands, those were humus horizon, organic matter, soil hardness, EC, T-N content, plant species richness, number of plants and dominant plant species. In every cases, the damage of soil and vegetation was originated due to development carried out by human being. The changes in soil condition were not big enough for it to affect plant growth, however, degradation of vegetation was still severe.

The purpose of this research is classifying stream into different types depending on various factor from the perspective of stream corridor restoration and using it as basic data, which are used to consider efficient management and planning for the healthy stream according to the characteristic by types. In this study, 130 points of location of the Nakdong river basin which consist of various geographic factors have been chosen and hierarchical cluster analysis has been carried out in these points by using biological and physiochemical factors whose health can be considered to be predicted and evaluated. As a result of cluster analysis, there were three divided types. Type A whose biology and water quality are considered the best was the highest in forest area percentage so that it was classified into natural stream. Type B was classified into a rural region stream with a mixture of urban and agricultural region. Type C, with the most damaged water quality and biology health had the most urban region surface area and was named as urban region stream. Moreover, an overall restoration strategy according to characteristic by stream types was set. By the results of correlation analysis on factors, water quality showed a high correlation with biological properties and was affected by surrounding land usage. In evaluation of streams, it proves the need to consider not only other habitat's geographical and biological factors but also the water quality and land usage factors. There needs to be further research on stream ecosystem functionality factors and structural aspects by using a more objective and total evaluation result in selecting additional index and various other specific classification methods by stream types and its restoration strategies.
Many dentists have been taken an interest in restoration of severly damaged teeth after endodontic treatment and it is a true that there are lots of studies about it. In these days, although we have used Para-Post, pins, threaded steel post, cast gold post and core, and so on, as a method of restoration frequently, it has been in controversy with the effects of them on the teeth and surrounding periodontal tissue. In this study, we assume that the crown of the upper 1st premolar was severly damaged, and after the root canal therapy, two most common types of restoration were carried out ; 1) coronal-radicular amalgam restoration, 2) after setting up the Para-Post, restore with amalgam core and gold crown. After restoration, in order to present the concentration of stress at internal portion of the tooth and the surrounding periodontal tissue, we doveloped a 2-dimensional finite element model of labiopalatal section, then loaded forces from 2 long perpendicular to the lingual incline of buccal ridge an the middle point, parallel to the long direction axis of tooth at the fossa-were applied. The analyzed results were as follows : 1. Stress of the normal first premolar was concentrated on the most weakest anatomical structure, that is, cervical area, and no stress on the bifurcated area of the canal. 2. Crown restoration after root canal therapy causes large stress concentration on the bifurcated area of the canal. This stress concentration has larger value in case of lateral movement of mandible, and there are decrease in the stress concentration compared with natural tooth. 3. Coronal-radicular amalgam restoration method transports more stress to the tooth structure than restoration using Para-Post. 4. There are more stress concentration around Para-Post in the case of lateral movement, and we have more favo rable result when restored with Para-Post. 5. Generally, stress in the lateral movement is larger than stress in the perpendicular load.

The current research focuses on the seismic vulnerability assessment of typical Southern Europe buildings, based on processing of a large set of observational damage data. The presented study constitutes a sequel of a previous research. The damage statistics have been enriched and a wider damage database (178578 buildings) is created compared to the one of the first presented paper (73468 buildings) with Damage Probability Matrices (DPMs) after the elaboration of the results from post-earthquake surveys carried out in the area struck by the 7-9-1999 near field Athens earthquake. The dataset comprises buildings which developed damage in several degree, type and extent. Two different parameters are estimated for the description of the seismic demand. After the classification of damaged buildings into structural types they are further categorized according to the level of damage and macroseismic intensity. The relative and the cumulative frequencies of the different damage states, for each structural type and each intensity level, are computed and presented, in terms of damage ratio. Damage Probability Matrices (DPMs) are obtained for typical structural types and they are compared to existing matrices derived from regions with similar building stock and soil conditions. A procedure is presented for the classification of those buildings which initially could not be discriminated into structural types due to restricted information and hence they had been disregarded. New proportional DPMs are developed and a correlation analysis is fulfilled with the existing vulnerability relations.
In this study, we explored a method for assessing the extent of damage caused by chemical substances at an accident site through the use of a vegetation index. Data collection involved the deployment of two different drone types, and the damaged area was determined using photogrammetry technology from the 3D point cloud data. To create a vegetation index image, we utilized spectral band data from a multi-spectral sensor to generate an orthoimage. Subsequently, we conducted statistical analyses of the accident site with respect to the damaged area using a predefined threshold value. The Kappa values for the vegetation index, based on the near-infrared band and the green band, were found to be 0.79 and 0.76, respectively. These results suggest that the vegetation index-based approach for analyzing damage areas can be effectively applied in investigations of chemical accidents.
