Objectives : DAMA cases were analyzed to examine what the main casual factors of DAMA were and how to deal with these cases effectively in hospital with the DAMA interdisciplinary team including medical social worker whose role is to perform psycho-social assessment, family counsel, to evaluate family's DAMA need. Patients and Methods : The content analysis of medical record and social work record were reviewed in 37 cases referred by medical doctor to DAMA team. These cases were reported by patients' self discharge request or family's request for discharge from September 1998 to February 2000. The DAMA team consists of Assistant Director of Hospital as team leader, medical staff in-charge, social worker, QI nurse, other staff members who are not involved in direct treatment for patient, and administrative clerk. Results : The results of content analysis are as follows : 1) The most causal factors of DAMA consist of combination of more than 2 factors. 2) The major decision-maker is revealed to be son and daughter of patient. 3) In 59.4% of cases, family was not informed of patients' prognosis, alternatives, the consequence of DAMA at all. 4) In cases of DAMA report, the rapid intervention of social worker is carried out. Conclusion : In this study, we propose the interdisciplinary team approach to make decision legitimately and ethically for DAMA. The suggestions from this study are as follows : 1) To deal with DAMA case properly, the interdisciplinary team approach should be considered. 2) The criteria for DAMA case should be formed carefully. For the explicit selection of DAMA case, preliminary system for high-risk patient screening is recommended. 3) The medical social worker is available for the psycho-social problems of the patient once family members. For the effective family counselling, discharge planning and nursing home placement, the participation of medical social worker should be mandatory.

위성을 이용한 DAMA-SCPC 지구국시스템의 경우 대체적으로 전송경로상에서 발생되는 에러를 제어하는 방법으로 FEC 기법을 채택하고 있다. 본 고에서는 DAMA -SCPC 지구국 시스템의 설계에 적용할 수 있도록 길쌈부호와 Viterbi 복호법, 그리고 (m-1)/m의 부호율을 위한 소기식 길쌈부호에 대해 살펴보고, 상용화 FEC CODEC 제품 중 가격이 비교적 저렴하고 다양한 기능을 제공하는 QUALCOM사의 Q0256 CODEC의 구성 및 제공 기능에 대해 분석한 후, 이 FEC CODEC을 DAMA-SCPC 지구국 시스템의 채널부에 적용시킬 때의 내장 부가 장치와 제공 기능들의 설계 및 이용 방안에 대해 고찰하였다.

In this paper, I designed the satellite system, using the MF-TDMA (Multi Frequency-Time Division Multiple Access) DAMA (Demand-Assigned Multiple Access) method, that allocates the satellite resources more effectively to prevent a large quantity data discard when Earth Terminals (ETs) request their satellite network resource to Network Controller (NC) by using their history information, such as traffic pattern or traffic class which have been receiving, and the network controller allocates the satellite network resource and send to earth terminals by using his history information that earth terminals have been requested already. The U.S. Military Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) community has selected the L-3 Linkabit MF-TDMA DAMA Network Centric Waveform (NCW) as the networking standard for full-mesh IP over SHF satellite communications. In the MF-TDMA DAMA satellite network, network controller allocates the satellite network resources and enables maximum 255 earth terminals to communicate each other for periodic satellite network resource requests of earth terminals.

A data allocation technique is essential to improve the performance of data broadcast systems. This paper explores the issues for allocating data items on broadcast channels in the environment where multiple-data queries are submitted, and proposes a new data allocation scheme named DAMA. The proposed scheme employs the strategy that the broadcast frequency of each data is determined by the moving average of its access probability. DAMA could enhance the performance of query response time since it is capable of controlling the influence of access probability properly according to the query size. Simulation is performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme. The simulation results show that the performance of DAMA is superior to other schemes in terms of the average response time.

This paper proposes the measurement scheme for network overload and the control technique in case of breaking several control channels when we support the call services of DAMA through communication satellite(GEO, Geostationary Earth Orbit). And its performance is analyzed. The proposed schemes measure the overload of access control channel of a network controller to control the call connections, detect the level of network overload, notify the terminals of DAMA network of the state, and excute overload control. As a result, it improves the system performance and the network stability at overload state. Moreover hysteresis is applied to the change of overload state for the restriction of the frequent state shifts. The results show that the proposed algorithm prevents excessive increment of call-setup delay and too much lowering of call success rate, and improves the network stability.

An isolable activated ester, diethyl thiophosphoryl [(Z)-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-(methoxyimino)acetate (9a, DAMA) was prepared in high purity, which was at least stable for 7 d at $25^{\circ}C$ and 6 months at $5^{\circ}C$. Its reaction with 7-ACA (4) in the presence of tributylamine in i-PrOH provided cefotaxime (1) of high purity in good yield. Preparation of DAMA and its reaction with 7-ACA (4) to 1 was performed in one-pot manner, respectively with minimal unit operations of stirring and filtration.

In modern society, as technology has advanced and human life area has expanded, there has been an increasing demand for high-quality voice and video communications services without restrictions on time and place. In response to this demand, satellite communications systems that provide a wide range of communications and that offer multiple access are evolving day by day. In satellite communications systems such as Digital Video Broadcasting - Return Channel Via Satellite (DVB-RCS) and Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T), the multi-frequency time division multiple access (MF-TDMA) demand assigned multiple access (DAMA) scheme is used for efficient resource allocation. In this scheme, since the satellite terminals periodically request resources from the network controller, and the network controller dynamically allocates resources, it is necessary to arrange resource allocation information from time to time. Shortening of the alignment time is a more important factor in a satellite communications system in which a long transmission delay occurs due to long-distance transmission and reception. In this paper, we propose a sorting algorithm variable-selection scheme that shortens the sorting time by cross-selecting the sorting algorithm based on a threshold value, while setting the number of frames in the MF-TDMA DAMA satellite communications system as the threshold value.

This paper describes the architecture and characteristics of the satellite modem unit (SMU) developed for the DAMA-SCPC Ground System(DGS), which is a Demand Assignment Multiple Access-Single Channel per Carrier (DAMA-SCPC) satellite network. There are several requirements for the SMU from the system architecture and design concept. To meet these requirements the SMU was designed and implemented by extensively applying digital signal processing (DSP) technique and field programmable gate array (FPGA). The developed SMU met the functional and performance requirements, and has been working well. The measured BER was about 1 $\times$10E-4 in continuous mode(at Eb/No=4.7, FEC=3/4).

Each of the three cationized compounds synthesized previously, poly(OMA-co-DAMA)[PODC], poly(DMA-co-DAMA)[PDDC] and poly(EMA-co-DAMA)[PEDC] was blended with waxes, emulsifiers and cationized fatty carbamide(ODTCC) synthesized in this study for the preparation of some durable softening water-repellenting agents, PODCW, PDDCW and PEDCW. The results of washability, tearing strength, crease recovery and contact angle of the cotton fabrics treated with PODCW, PDDCW and PEDCW with and without textile finishing resin, showed remarkable improvement of the physical properties. Rating of water repellency of cotton fabric treated with PODCW was 80, but those treated with PDDCW and PEDCW were not high enough to use in industry. Proper curing temperature of the synthesized water-repelleting agents was $140^{\circ}C$; proper using concentration was 3wt%; sodium acetate was the best catalyst for water-repellenting agents among the used, and proper concentration was 0.6wt%. From the results of reaction mechanism of cellulosic fiber with water-repellenting agent and washability of the fibers treated with water-repellenting agents the prepared water-repellenting agent proved to be durable. Surface structures of cotton fabrics treated with water-repellenting agent were investigated by SEM.
