  • Subendothelial accumulation of foam cells plays a key role in the initiation of atherosclerosis. These foam cells accumulate in fatty streaks that evolve to more complex fibrofatty or atheromatous plaques.   • Paraoxonase, an antioxidant enzyme, exclusively located on HDL is well known for both hydrolysis of organophosphate and prevention against LDL oxidation. It have been reported that PON1 decrease its activity under oxidative stress and that PON1 activity is lower in subject with higher vulnerability to organophosphate poisoning. The aim of our study is to examine the effect of oxidative system on paraoxon-hydrolzing activity and to elucidate the plausible mechanisms responsible for the decline of HDL-asscociated PON1 activity in vivo system. 왕염손(王念孫) 《대대례고운보(大戴禮古韻譜)》 운례 연구

  • 《大戴禮》由戴德編纂, 三十九篇流傳。儒家經典之一, 記述了先秦時期儒家學派的學說。戴聖編纂的《禮記》與《大戴禮》相區別, 又名《小戴禮》。《大戴禮·夏小正》以韻文體形式記述了上古時期的農耕意識, 將農業生產相關意識與一年十二個月的典型季節特徵結合起來。這裏需要注意的是《大戴禮·夏小正》爲韻文體的部分, 韻文體具有韻例。清代古音學家對先秦時期的押韻現象進行了歸納分析, 研究了上古音。《大戴禮·夏小正》爲韻文體, 被清代音學家視爲研究資料寶庫。《大戴禮》中除了《夏小正》之外, 還有許多篇名中存在着韻例。王念孫是清代古音學家, 著作《古韻譜》群經中收錄了《大戴禮》的韻例, 共有171個。整體上以押韻爲主流, 合韻混雜其中。本稿對王念孫《大戴禮古韻譜》的韻例進行分析, 將《古韻譜》的二十一部重新組爲《合韻譜》的二十二部。研究方法將《大戴禮古韻譜》的韻例與《大戴禮》原文對照, 分析王念 孫押韻與合韻體系。另外, 在將《大戴禮古韻譜》的二十一部改編爲二十二部的過程中, 參考了《合韻譜》的合韻例。 王念孫在《古韻譜》中主張二十一部, 後來《合韻譜》承認冬部獨立, 主張二十二部。王念孫主張的二十二部也是清代考學派的最終結果。本稿審視此點, 通過《大戴禮古韻譜》的韻例分析, 從東部獨立出來冬部, 以二十二部體制重新構成。

  • In this article, we propose a criterion for ensuring the asymptotic stability of large multiple delays, based on the direct Lyapunov method. Based on this criterion and distributed control scheme, the controllers are synthesized by the PDC to stabilize these large-scale systems with multiple delays. And we focus on the results which shows the high effective by the proposed theory utilized for damage propagation for aircraft structural analysis of composite materials. Finally, the numerical simulations confirmed the effectiveness of the method.

  • This study focused on the accessory of clothes of minority groups in Yunnan province to further the research about specific accessories' development in the future. Among the minorities in Yunnan, this study centralized characteristics of ornaments, hats and belts among five minority groups such as the Bai, Zhuang, Hani, Dai, and the Zang as representatives to study in detail because these five ethnicities have a relatively long history and plentiful information. The results are as follows: First, exaggeration means large gorgeous patterns that attract attention. Generally, there are many natural resources that can be used in places where these minority groups live such as gems, gold, silver shells and animals' horns, bone, teeth and the like. Headdress includes combs, loops, hairpins and other similar articles. Second, nature is a very fundamental part that people rely on for existence and development. The production and living that people need in life all depend on nature. The design of accessories is made from animal forms and patterns of clothes are presented through embroidery and wax printing. Designers always tried to add natural elements to their works. Third, symbolism consists of two aspects: One is the people's imagination, which related to actual materials, and the other is the product of imagination that provides better conditions to inspire people when they design. In China, most minority groups believe in Buddhism. The symbols in the clothing show their devout faith. Even the method of wear has many special implications like the use of accessories and length of clothing. The pattern of dragons and use of golden, red and other colors all have a proper symbolic significance in modern designs.

Effects of Soil Textures on Infectivity of Root-Knot Nematodes on Carrot

  • This study was conducted to examine infectivity (penetration and gall and egg-mass formations) of the root-knot nematodes, Meloidogyne incognita and M. hapla, on carrots grown in soil conditions of 5 different soil textures consisting of bed-soil (b) and sand (s) mixtures (b-s mixtures) at the ratios of 10:0, 7:3, 5:5, 3:7, and 0:10. For M. incognita, the nematode penetration rates in b-s of 0:10 (100% sand) were significantly higher than in the other b-s mixtures, more greatly at 2 and 5 days after inoculation than at 10 DAI, while no significant differences in the penetration rates were mostly shown for M. hapla at the above DAI. However, for both nematodes, gall and egg-mass formations were remarkably increased in the b-s mixture of 0:10, compared to the other b-s mixtures, which is coincided with the general aspects of severe nematode infestations in sandy soils. This suggests the increased gall and egg-mass formations of M. incognita should be derived from the increased penetration rates in the sandy soil conditions, which provide a sufficient aeration due to coarse soil nature for the nematodes, leading to their mobility increased for the enhanced root penetration. For M. hapla, it is suggested that the sandy soil conditions affect positively on the healthy plant growth with little accumulation of the inhibitory materials and sufficient aeration, enhancing the nematode growth and feeding activities. All of these aspects provide information reliable for the development screening techniques efficient for the evaluation of the nematode resistance in the breeding programs.

  • As a series of studies to investigate the effect of immunosuppression on Ascaris suum infection in undefinitive hosts, and a delicate relationship between host and parasite, in the present studies, SPF ICR mice were alloted to experiment 1(normal undefinitive host group) and experiment 2(immunosuppressive group treated with prednisolone acetate) and inoculated with a single dose of 1,100 embryonated A suum eggs. In normal group, the infection essentially terminates 4 days after inoculation(DAI) with the attainment of middle third-stage in the liver, although few larvae migrate to the lungs where a few advance to late third stage. In immunosuppressive group, significant numbers developed to late third-stage in liver 8 DAI. In general, increasing of the mast cells and the goblet cells in the jejunum mucosa, of T-cells in the spleen and of activity of peritoneal macrophages followed by expulsion of the worms in the both groups. Considering a series of the results, suitabilities for the host of the worm appeared the highest from rabbit, hamster and mouse in that order. In addition, patent infection of A suum in the mice was also not obviously observed in spite of immunosuppression by prednisolone acetate.
