  • In this paper, we propose a new scheduling algorithm that guarantees the delay property of real-time traffic, not considered in previous DWRR(Dynamic Weighted Round Robin) algorithm and also transmits non-real-time traffic efficiently. The proposed scheduling algorithm is a variation of DWRR algorithm to guarantee the delay property of real-time traffic by adding cell transmission method based on delay priority. It also uses the threshold to prevent the cell loss of non-real-time traffic due to cell transmission method based on delay priority. Proposed scheduling algorithm may increase some complexity over conventional DWRR scheme because of cell transmission method based on delay priority. However, the consideration of delay priority can minimize cell delay and require less size of temporary buffer. Also, the results of our performance study shows that the proposed scheduling algorithm has better performance than conventional DWRR scheme due to reliable ABR service and congestion avoidance capacity.

  • Scheduling algorithm proposed in this paper is based on both DWRR(Dynamic Weighed Round Robin) method and QLT(Queue Length Threshold) method. The proposed scheduling algorithm guarantees delay property of realtime traffic, not considered in previous DWRR method, with serving realtime traffic preferentially by using RR(Round Robin) method which service each channel equally and QLT algorithm that is dynamic time priority method. Proposed cell scheduling algorithm may increase some complexity over conventional DWRR scheme because of delay priority based cell transmission method. However, due to reliable ABR service and congesition avoidance capacity, proposed scheduling algorithm has good performance over conventional DWRR scheme. Also, delay property based cell transmission method in proposed algorithm minimizes cell delay and requires less temporary buffer size

  • In this thesis, we analyze the efficiency of the algorithm to distribute the load in the clustered system, by comparing with the existed algorithm. PWLC algorithm detects each server's load in the system at weighted period, and following the detection of the loads, a set of weights is given to each server. The system allocates new loads to each server according to its weight. PWLC algorithm is compared with DWRR algorithm in terms of variance, waiting time by varying weighted Period. When the weighted period is too short, the system bears a heavy load for detecting load over time. On the other hand, when the weighted period is too long, the load balancing control of the system becomes ineffective. The analysis shows PWLC algorithm is more efficient than DWRR algorithm for the variance and waiting time.

  • In this paper, we propose the modified dynamic weighted round robin (MDWRR) cell scheduling algorithm, which guarantees the delay property of real-time traffic and also efficiently transmits non-real-time traffic. The proposed scheduling algorithm is a variation of the dynamic weighted round robin (DWRR) algorithm and guarantees the delay property of real-time traffic by adding a cell transmission procedure based on delay priority. It also uses a threshold to prevent the cell loss of non-real-time traffic that is due to the cell transmission procedure based on delay priority. Though the MDWRR scheduling algorithm may be more complex than the conventional DWRR scheme, considering delay priority minimizes cell delay and decreases the required size of the temporary buffer. The results of our performance study show that the proposed scheduling algorithm has better performance than the conventional DWRR scheme because of the delay guarantee of real-time traffic.

  • In this paper, we propose a cell scheduling algorithm for ABR traffic in ATM multiplexer. Proposed Algorithm can support ABR service more efficiently than existing WRR and DWRR algorithm. We evaluate the performances of proposed algorithm through computer simulation. Also, we model the VBR and the ABR traffics as ON/OFF source, and the CBR traffic as a Poisson source. And the simulation shows that proposed algorithm better performance over other cell scheduling algorithm in tem of mean cell delay time.

  • In this paper, a new connection admission controller using neural network is presented. The controller measures traffic flow, cell loss rate, and cell delay periodically. Using those measured information, it learns the distributions of traffics of each traffic. Also the proposed controller is able to measure and manage the delays that source traffics experience through the network by using DWRR multiplexer with buffers dedicated to each traffic source. Experimental result show that the heterogeneous traffic sources with various QoS requirement.

  • In this paper, a new real-time neural network connection admission controller is proposed. The proposed controller measures traffic flows, cell loss rate and cell delay periodically each classes. The Neural network learns the relation between those measured information and service quality by real-time. Also the proposed controller uses the DWRR multiplexer with buffer dedicated to every traffic source in order to measure the delay that cells experience in buffer. Experimental result shows that the proposed method can control effectively heterogeneous traffic sources with diverse QoS requirement.

  • 웹 클러스터 시스템은 동일 서버 군에서 하나 이상의 서비스를 제공하여 비용대비 효과 면에서 높은 가용성 및 보다 빠른 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 시스템이다. 본 연구는 폭주하는 부하를 웹 클러스터 시스템 내의 각 서버에 균등하게 분산 시키는 방법에 대하여 연구하며, 부하 분산의 방법론 및 부하 분산 알고리즘을 제시한다. 기존의 WLC 알고리즘의 변형인 PWLC 알고리즘은 주기적인 웹 클러스터의 부하 측정을 통해 가중치를 적용하고 주어진 기간 동안 부하를 가중치에 따라 점진적으로 분산 시키는 방법이다. 이 알고리즘을 동일 기종 및 이기종 웹 클러스터 시스템에 적용하였고, 또한 기존에 제안된 DWRR 알고리즘과의 시뮬레이션을 통한 비교에서 제안된 PWLC 알고리즘이 보다 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, a cell scheduling algorithm is proposed to satisfy the service requirements of CBR, VBR traffics. Particularly, inthe proposed algorithm an ABR traffic which is not included in the conventional cell schedulaing algorithm is treated as one kind of traffic types. The algorithm of RT-VBR and NRT-VBR traffic such that the service requrements of RT-VBR and NRT-VBR traffic are satisfied. The proposed algorithm dynamically schedules cells in a real time by considerin the current traffic conditions. The simulation of the proposed algorithms such as WRR or DWRR in terms of the mean delay time and the maximum queue length.

  • 홈 게이트웨이가 가져야 하는 기능에 대한 요구사항을 분석하고 통신사업자의 관점에서, QoS 기능과 IP 주소변환 기능을 중심으로 세부적인 스위칭 칩의 기능과 성능을 규정하였다. QoS 기능, 패킷 필터링 기능, 그리고 IPv6 주소체계 도입 등과 같이 급변하는 네트워크의 요구사항을 유연하게 수용하여, 칩의 기능과 성능을 수정하거나 추가할 수 있도록 패킷프로세서 기반으로 스위칭 칩을 설계하였으며, 홈 게이트웨이의 구성을 단순화하기 위해 스위칭 칩의 패킷 메모리와 룩업 메모리를 칩 내부에 내장하였다. 그리고 칩의 설계를 검증하기 위해 FPGA를 이용하여 6포트 스위칭 칩으로 구현하여 기능 및 성능시험을 수행하였다. NAT, Flow에 따른 패킷 분류 및 패킷 변경, SPQ, DWRR과 같은 스케줄링 등의 시험을 통하여 설계한 칩의 기능과 성능을 확인하였다.
