  • In this paper, we analysis the performance of position estimation when adopting Dynamic TDMA(DTDMA) in JTIDS RelNav. JTIDS RelNav is widely understood as a new navigation solution possibly capable to support or take cover of the role of conventional systems including INS or GPS no matter if they are working well or not. By maximizing the efficiency of radio resource management in MAC(Medium Access Control) layer we enhance the system performance without any replacement of hardware.

  • In this paper, we designed a dynamic TDMA scheme for smooth tactical data distribution in TDMA tactical datalinks. Since the existing tactical datalinks use fixed time radio resources, it is impossible to change the resource status according to network conditions during operation. To overcome these limitations, we designed, implemented, and simulated the DTDMA processing and related messages such as initial timeslot allocation, intermediate time slot allocation, time slot return, and timeslot retrieval. As a result, it was shown that the method of effectively allocating and using timeslot resources according to the situation is applicable. Therefore, we will continue research to manage DTDMA communication on tactical data link in the future.

A Time Slot Assignment Algorithm Based on Transmission Interval in Time Division Multiple Access Communication System (시분할 다중접속 통신시스템에서 전송주기를 고려한 시간슬롯 할당 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, the time slot assignment algorithm, which is based on various transmission interval in TDMA DAMA communication system, has been proposed. The performance of the proposed algorithm and the random assignment algorithm is compared through computer simulations. The simulation results show that the new algorithm can enhance the efficiency of time slot usage much more than the random assignment algorithm. Especially, the lower the congestion of the network is, the higher the efficiency of time slot usage for short transmission interval is.

Reliable Dynamic TDMA Scheme with new Packing method for Image Transmission over Link-16 (Link-16에서 이미지 전송을 위한 신뢰성 기반의 동적 TDMA 기법과 새로운 패킹 방법)

  • Link-16 is a widely used TDL (Tactical Data Link) which uses TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access). Link-16 is a very low rate system, so it supports small size of data like tactical message and voice. However, there are related works to transmit situation awareness information like image due to the increasing interest about EBO(Effect-Based Operation), recently. Special TDMA scheduling is needed not static TDMA of Link-16 for image transmission because image data has much larger size than the existing tactical data. In this paper, we proposed Link-16K which enhances the Link-16 MAC. The proposed Link-16K is compatible with Link-16, and includes dynamic TDMA, new packing method, and an efficient retransmission scheme for image transmission effectively. We can see that image transmission delay is reduced and channel utilization is increased through simulation results of proposed idea.
