  • This paper deals with voltage regulation at the power Distribution system interconnected with DSG. Modern distribution substation adopt LDC method as the voltage regulation method to deliver suitable voltages to many customers. However, the operations of DSG interconnected with distribution system, the customers' voltage violate the permissible voltage limits. Therefore, to deliver suitable voltage to many customers at the distribution substation, an advanced voltage regulation method is required. In this paper, the on line realtime MLDC (Multiple Line Drop compensation) method, considered daedband and hysterical tap changing of the ULTC, is proposed. The result from a simulation study shows that the proposed method can be practical applications for the voltage regulation at the distribution system interconnected with DSG and unbalanced load pattern among feeders.

  • Solid modeling refers to techniques for unambiguous representations of three- dimensional objects. The most widely used techniques for solid modeling have been Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) and Boundary Representation (BRep). Contemporary solid modeling systems typically support both representations, and bilateral conversions between CSG and BRep are essential. However, computing a CSG from a BRep is largely an open problem. This paper presents 3D geometric reasoning algorithms for converting a BRep into a special CSG, called Destructive Solid Geometry (DSG) whose Boolean operations are all subtractions. The major application area of BRep-to-DSG conversion is feature recognition, which is essential for integrating CAD and CAM.

  • PURPOSE. This study evaluated the reliability of the chair-side CAD-CAM surgical guide (CSG) in the anterior maxilla by comparing its accuracy with the laboratory 3D-printed surgical guide (3DSG) and manual surgical guide (MSG) concerning different levels of dentists' surgical experience. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Ten surgical guides of each type (MSG, 3DSG, and CSG) were fabricated on a control study model with missing right and left central incisors. Sixty implants were placed in 30 study models by two dentists (one inexperienced and one experienced) using three different types of surgical guides. Horizontal deviations at shoulder and at apex, vertical, and angular deviations were measured after superimposing the planned and placed implant positions in the software. Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests were used to compare the accuracy of three types of surgical guides in each dentist group and the accuracy of each surgical guide between two dentists (α = .05). RESULTS. There were no significant differences in any deviations between CSG and 3DSG, apart from angular deviation, for both dentists' groups. Moreover, both CSG and 3DSG showed no significant differences in accuracy between the two dentists (P > .05). In contrast, MSG demonstrated significant differences from CSG and 3DSG and a significant difference in accuracy between the two dentists (P < .05). CONCLUSION. CSG provides superior accuracy to MSG in implant placement in the maxillary anterior region and is comparable to 3DSG at different levels of surgical experience, while offering the benefits of shorter manufacturing time and reduced patient visits.

  • Purpose: This study evaluated differences and shifting patterns in the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of 5-year gastric cancer survivors after either a distal subtotal gastrectomy (DSG) or total gastrectomy (TG). Materials and Methods: We analyzed the prospectively collected HRQoL data of 528 patients who survived 5 years without recurrence using the European Organization for the Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Core Quality of Life Questionnaire and the EORTC Quality of Life Questionnaire-Stomach module according to the type of surgery. The purpose was to identify the proportion of patients with deteriorating HRQoL and to assess the clinical significance of these changes. Results: Deteriorating HRQoL was prevalent in both groups, including a large proportion of the DSG group. Decreased overall health status and scores on several function scales were less in the DSG group, while increases on the symptom scales were higher in the TG group. For most of the scales, gaps in HRQoL during the early postoperative period did not merge within the 5 years. Scores on the diarrhea and body image scales revealed "moderate changes" in both groups. Conclusions: During the 5-year period after surgery, the TG group suffered from inferior HRQoL compared to the DSG group. However, a large proportion of the DSG group also suffered HRQoL deterioration. In general, the TG group experienced more HRQoL decline, with diarrhea and body image being the major concerns for both groups. To improve HRQoL after gastrectomy, patients must be better informed about post-gastrectomy symptoms. These symptoms must be vigorously investigated, and medical interventions should be available parallel to nutritional support. Favorable evidence of function-preserving gastrectomy should be established and disseminated to improve the HRQoL of early gastric cancer patients.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel dynamic subchannel grouping (DSG) algorithm to maximize the system capacity considering intended proper outage probability for the downlink of enterprise small-cell networks (ESNs). In the proposed DSG scheme, a local gateway (LGW) which is installed in a building dynamically divides the frequency bandwidth into different numbers of subchannel groups (SGs) based on the numbers of small-cell access points (SAPs) and small-cell user equipments (SUEs) per floor. Then, the LGW assigns the SGs to SAPs and the SAPs allocate them to their serving SUEs. Through simulation results, we show that the proposed DSG scheme is appropriate for the ESNs compared to the conventional small-cell networks in which all SAPs use the number of fixed SGs in terms of the system capacity and outage probability.

  • This paper presents a new scheme for constructing locking-free finite elements in thick and thin plates, called Discrete Shear Gap element (DSG), using multiphase material topology optimization for triangular elements of Reissner-Mindlin plates. Besides, common methods are also presented in this article, such as quadrilateral element (Q4) and reduced integration method. Moreover, when the plate gets too thin, the transverse shear-locking problem arises. To avoid that phenomenon, the stabilized discrete shear gap technique is utilized in the DSG3 system stiffness matrix formulation. The accuracy and efficiency of DSG are demonstrated by the numerical examples, and many superior properties are presented, such as being a strong competitor to the common kind of Q4 elements in the static topology optimization and its computed results are confirmed against those derived from the three-node triangular element, and other existing solutions.

  • Backgrounds : Glutathione-s-transferase (GST) is a kind of phase II metabolism enzyme and plays an important role in the detoxification of various toxic chemicals. It was reported that the genetic polymorphism of GSTM1 and GSTT1 genes may be responsible for asthma development and susceptibility to allergy. Traditional oriental medicine uses a unique diagnostic technique. differentiation-syndrome. to analyze signs and symptoms of patients synthetically. Through differentiation-syndrome. asthma patients can be divided into two groups: the deficiency syndrome group (DSG) and the excess syndrome group (ESG). Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the possible association of GST gene polymorphism with clinical phenotype by differentiation-syndrome of bronchial asthma patients. Materials and Methods : One hundred and ten participants were evaluated by pulmonary function test. Patients with 53 DSG and 31 ESG by differentiation-syndrome were assessed for genetic analysis. GSTM1 and GSTT1 deletion polymorphism was performed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results : GSTM1 gene deletion was detected in 43.4% of individuals in the DSG and in 38.71 % in the ESG. The distribution of GSTM1 polymorphism between DSG and ESG was not significantly different [$x^2$=0.1767, p=0.6742; OR(95% CI)=1.2139(0.4915-2.9979)]. The proportion of GSTT1 null genotypes was 41.51% in the DGS and 45.16% in the ESG. The distribution of GSTT1 polymorphism between DSG and ESG was also not significantly different [$x^2$=0.1065, p=0.7442; OR(95% CI)=0.8618(0.3525-2.1065)]. In the combined analysis of GSTM1 and GSTT1 genes, the frequency of both null type of GSTM1/GSTT1 genes was not significantly different from both positive type of GSTM1/GSTT1 genes[$x^2$=0.0768, p=0.7817; OR(95% CI)=1.2000(0.3303-4.3602)] Conclusions : These results indicate that polymorphism of the GST gene might not be associated with the symptomatic classification of DSG and ESG by differentiation-syndrome in Korean asthmatics.

  • This study aims to perform damage identification for Da-Sheng-Guan (DSG) high-speed railway truss arch bridge using fuzzy clustering analysis. Firstly, structural health monitoring (SHM) system is established for the DSG Bridge. Long-term field monitoring strain data in 8 different cases caused by high-speed trains are taken as classification reference for other unknown cases. And finite element model (FEM) of DSG Bridge is established to simulate damage cases of the bridge. Then, effectiveness of one fuzzy clustering analysis method named transitive closure method and FEM results are verified using the monitoring strain data. Three standardization methods at the first step of fuzzy clustering transitive closure method are compared: extreme difference method, maximum method and non-standard method. At last, the fuzzy clustering method is taken to identify damage with different degrees and different locations. The results show that: non-standard method is the best for the data with the same dimension at the first step of fuzzy clustering analysis. Clustering result is the best when 8 carriage and 16 carriage train in the same line are in a category. For DSG Bridge, the damage is identified when the strain mode change caused by damage is more significant than it caused by different carriages. The corresponding critical damage degree called damage threshold varies with damage location and reduces with the increase of damage locations.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of producing goods evaluating the preservation of DSG, PSG, DST and PST, all of which were the most preferred according to the results of sensory evaluation of some sauces made of Demi-glace sauce and a Teriyaki-applied sauce. The pH of normal Demi-glace sauce, at 5.2, was the highest among these sauces. The Teriyaki-applied Demi-glace sauce was the second with pH 5.12 DSG was the lowest. The pH didn't change significantly according to preservation. However, the degree of PSG's pH was lowered by the time period of preservation. DGST didn't changed a lot apart from being a bit morewatery (12.40) after three-week storage. It seemed that the viscosity of the normal sauces, checked after 10 sec, decreased. At 20 sec there were no differences among these sauces. After making 10 applied sauces and evaluating them, DSG, PSG, DST and PST gained the highest preference and the application of Teriyaki sauce was evaluated favorably. According to the preservation test. the sensory evaluation didn't seem to decrease within 2 weeks which demonstrated that the other physicochemical products were unaffected. Therefore, an improvement following more than two-week preservation is expected in t case of rigid store regulation.
