  • From a marine sponge Dysidea species, four new furanosesquiterterpenoids were isolated and characterized. Their structural elucidation was achieved through an extensive analysis employing NMR, MS data, and DFT method. Notably, all compounds shared as identical molecular formula. Compound 2 was identified as a derivative of compound 1, while compounds 3 and 4 exhibited an identical planar structure. Determination of the configurations of chiral centers in compounds 1 and 2 involved a comparative analysis between measured and calculated ECD spectra, along with the application of DP4+ probability analysis. Distinctly, the configurations of isomers 3 and 4 were established by scrutinizing proton chemical shifts based on the NOE correlation.

  • LINK16 is a system which is designed to maximize performance in a particular tactical environment with high levels of jamming. In this paper, transmission performance of synchronization pattern for cipher communication in aerial tactical communication link is presented. Transmission architecture of operating mode (standard DP, P2SP, P2DP, P4mode) in LINK16 network is discussed, and an effect of synchronization pattern, a quality of degraded effect of transmission communication for collision probability between hopping frequencies and fading channel in crypto communication is analyzed.

  • Highly dispersive S-boxes are desirable in cryptosystems as nonlinear confusion sublayers for resisting modern attacks. For a near optimal cryptosystem resistant to modern cryptanalysis, a highly nonlinear and low differential probability (DP) value is required. We propose a method based on a piecewise linear chaotic map (PWLCM) with optimization conditions. Thus, the linear propagation of information in a cryptosystem appearing as a high DP during differential cryptanalysis of an S-box is minimized. While mapping from the chaotic trajectory to integer domain, a randomness test is performed that justifies the nonlinear behavior of the highly dispersive and nonlinear chaotic S-box. The proposed scheme is vetted using well-established cryptographic performance criteria. The proposed S-box meets the cryptographic performance criteria and further minimizes the differential propagation justified by the low DP value. The suitability of the proposed S-box is also tested using an image encryption algorithm. Results show that the proposed S-box as a confusion component entails a high level of security and improves resistance against all known attacks.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose the HMM (hidden markov model) based on multi-observation sequence for the isolated word recognition. The proosed model generates the codebook of MSVQ by dividing each word into several sections followed by dividing training data into several sections. Then, we are to obtain the sequential value of multi-observation per each section by weighting the vectors of distance form lower values to higher ones. Thereafter, this the sequential with high probability value while in recognition. 146 DDD area names are selected as the vocabularies for the target recognition, and 10LPC cepstrum coefficients are used as the feature parameters. Besides the speech recognition experiments by way of the proposed model, for the comparison with it, the experiments by DP, MSVQ, and genral HMM are made with the same data under the same condition. The experiment results have shown that HMM based on multi-observation sequence proposed in this paper is proved superior to any other methods such as the ones using DP, MSVQ and general HMM models in recognition rate and time.

  • This paper describes on the Korean continuous speech recognition system for flight reservation. It adopts a frame-synchronous One-Pass DP search algorithm driven by syntactic constraints of context free grammar(CFG). For recognition, 48 phoneme-like units(PLU) were defined and used as basic units for acoustic modeling of Korean. This modeling was conducted using a HMM technique, where each model has 4-states 3-continuous output probability distributions and 3-discrete-duration distributions. Language modeling by CFG was also applied to the task domain of flight reservation, which consisted of 346 words and 422 rewriting rules. In the tests, the sentence recognition rate of 62.6% was obtained after speaker adaptation.

  • Two new sesterterpenes, including a known sesterterpene, were isolated from the marine sponge Haliclona sp. collected in the Gageo island, Korea. One of the new sesterterpenes (1) was an unusual compound possessing a spiroketal moiety and the other (2) represented a four ring-fused skeleton. The planar structure of compound 1 was identical to gombaspiroketals A and B isolated from the marine sponge Clathria gombawuiensis, but the configuration for the two chiral centers was different each other. On the other hand, the skeletal structure of compound 2 was similar to that of phorone A isolated from Phorbas sp. and a compound from C. gombawuiensis, except for one configuration at C-8. However, in comparing the 1H and 13C NMR spectral data, the proton and carbon chemical shifts for the three compounds were almost consistent. The NOESY spectrum revealed that the C-8 configuration of 2 was reversed to that of the two reported compounds. The configuration for compound 2 was supported by quantum mechanical calculation for the carbon chemical shifts and DP4+ probability for the protons and carbons of 2.
