Effects of Eccentric Exercise on Torque-Angle Relationship of Human Tibialis anterior In-vivo (신장성 수축 운동에 의한 인체 하지 전경골근의 족배굴곡 토크-발목 각도 특성 변화)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how maximum-effort eccentric exercise over different contraction ranges affects the characteristics of torque-angle relationship of human ankle plantarflexor in-vivo. Subjects were randomly assigned in two groups. One group (n=6) performed 120 maximum-effort eccentric ankle dorsiflexion contractions at short muscle length (ankle range of motion from -5 to 15 deg) and the other group (n=6) at long (ankle range of motion from 10 to 30 deg) muscle length. Eccentric exercise decreased the maximum isometric ankle plantarflexion torque ${\sim}40%$. It was found that the optimum ankle joint angle changed from 7.5 deg to 11.1 deg and 10.1 deg, shifted toward the longer muscle length, regardless of the exercise range. The results of this study suggest that eccentric exercise alters the characteristics of torqueangle relationship of the muscle but there is no differential effect of the eccentric contraction range.

A study on microstructure and electrical properties of LPCVD polysilicon (다결정 실리톤의 미세구조와 전기적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • LPCVD 방법으로 625.deg.C와 560.deg.에서 증착한 다결정 실리콘에 As이온주입량을 lx$10^{13}$-lx$10^{16}$/$cm^{2}$로 변화시키면서 열처리 전, 후의 미세구조와 전기적 특성 변화를 조사하였다. 625.deg.C에서 증착한 시편은 columnar구조를 하고 있어 표면이 매우 거칠었으며 900.deg.C, 30분 열처리 후에는 As doping 농도에 관계없이 결정립 크기는 200-300.angs.정도였다. 560.deg.C에서 증착한 시편은 비정질 상태로열처리 후에는 1000.angs.이상의 큰 결정립을 갖는 타원형의 결정립으로 성장하였으며 표면이 매우 smooth하였다. 같은 doping 농도에서 전기 전도도와 Hall mobility는 비정질 상태로 증착한 시편이 큰 결정립으로 인하여 다결정 상태로 증착한 시편에 비해 크게 되었다. Grain boundary trapping model에 의해 계산한 potential barrier height는 As doping 농도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였으며 grain boundary trap density는 증착 온도, As doping 농도 및 결정립 크기에 크게 관계없이 3.6~5*$10^{12}$/$cm^{2}$로 측정되었다.

Transient fluid temperature fluctuation in boiling (푸울 沸騰時 過渡的 流體溫度 變動)

  • The present experiments of transient temperature variation and temperature fluctuation were conducted by bead type thermistors in pool boiling without a heat surface. The experimentally obtained conclusion were as follows. (1) The high transient temperature Variatian of 11.64.deg. C for a duration of 0.08 sec and a temperature freguency having a duration of 5.6*10$^{-2}$ sec in a flashing were measured. (2) The highest variation of transient temperature was shown at saturated temperature of 80.deg. C and superheat of 7.9.deg. C. (3) Temperature frequency was found to increase with superheat below 60.deg. C of saturated temperature, but above 60.deg. C it was relative to lower superheat and was found to decrease with higher superheat..

  • This paper analyzed arbitrary Energy band profile heterostructures by solving Schrodinger\`s equation the Poisson's equation self-consistently. Four different concentrations positively ionized donors holes in the valence band free electrons in the conduction band and 2DEG are taken to account for the whole system. 2DEG from both of the structures are obtained and compared with the data available in the literatures. Differential capacitances are also calculated from the concentration profiles obtained. Finally theoretical predictions for both of 2DEGs and the capacitances show good agreement with the experimental data referred in this study.

Electrical and optical properties of CdS films propared by vacuum evaporation (진공증착법으로 제조한 CdS 박막의 전기적 및 광학적 성질)

  • CdS박막을 5*$10^{-7}$Torr의 초기 진공하에서 CdS source 온도를 800~1100.deg.C로 하고 기판 온도를 100~200.deg.C로 하여 corning 7059 glass 기판위에 0.6~1.2.mu.m의 두께로 진공증착 방법으로 제조하였다. CdS soruce 온도와 기판온도가 증착된 CdS 박막의 미세구조와 결정구조 및 전기적, 광학적 성질에 미치는 영향을 알아 보았다. 기판을 가열하지 않은 경우는 source 온도가 증가할수록 전기비저항과 광투과도가 낮게 나타났다. Source 온도를 1100.deg.C로 고정하였을 경우 기판의 온도에 따라 전기비저항값과 광투과도값은 증가하였으며 optical band gap도 증가하였다. Soruce 온도가 1100.deg.C이고 기판온도가 190.deg.C일때 전기비저항값은 2*$10^{6}$ohm-cm였고 광투과도는 band gap 이상의 파장에서 80% 이상의 값을 가졌다. 증착된 CdS박막의 결정구조는 모두 hexagonal structure를 가지며 source 온도가 낮을수록 기판온도가 높을수록 C축으로 방향성있게 성장하였다.

Four different concentrations, positively ionized donors, holes in the valence band, free electrons in the conduction band and 2DEG are taken into account for the whole system. 2DEG from both of the structures are obtained and compared with the date available in the literatures. Differential capacitances are also calculated from the concentration profiles obtained to prove the validity of the single AlGaAs/GaAs system. Finally, theoretical predictions for both of 2DEGs and the capacitances show good agreement with the experimental data referred in this study. It has only an error of les than 10 percent.

Effect of the grain size of temperature dependence on the creep behavior of SUS 316 (SUS 316 강의 온도의존성 결정입경이 크리이프 거동에 미치는 영향)

  • Austenitic stainless steel has been investigated widely for creep strength of heat resistant material and effects of grain sizes due to various solution treatment time under constant temperature. It was studied that effects of grain sizes subject to solution treatment temperature 1100.deg. C, 1125.deg. C, 1175.deg. C, 1250.deg C, and 1300.deg. C respectively on the creep strength, fracture behaviour and fractography of SUS 316 stainless steel. The experimental results obtained were as follows. 1. The optimum grain size for the maximum creep strength did not vary with creep testing temperatures and stress levels. 2. Among various grain sizes due to different solution treatment temperature, the optimum grain size for the creep strength was found 0.044mm. Also the size showed the minimum initial strain regardless creep temperature. 3. Garofalo's equation of creep rupture life was applied well to SUS 316 stainless steel. 4. The fractography of optimum size was ductile intergranular fracture of dimple type and showed along with the increase of grain size intergranular fracture of w type.

Analysis of the residual strengths and failure mechanisms in laminated composites under impact loading

  • In this paper, we proposed the two-parameter model for predicting the residual strength in CFRP laminated composites subjected to high velocity impact and developed and formulated it based upon Cparino's by using the ratio of impact and the normalized residual strength. Critical indentation was obtained by the statical indentation tests. Impact tests were carried out through air-gun type impact equipment with the velocities varied 30-100m/sec. Projectiles were steel balls with 5 and 7mm in diameter. Test material was carbon/epoxy. The specimens were composed of [ .+-. 45 .deg. /0 .deg. /90 .deg. ]$\_$2/ and [ .+-. 45 .deg. ]$\_$4/stacking sequences and had 0.75$\^$T/*0.26$\^$W/*100$\^$L/(mm) dimension. Results from the proposed model were in good agreement with the test data. And failure mechanism due to high velocity impact is given here to examine the initation and deveolpment of damage by fractography and ultrasonic image system. The effects of the 0 .deg. -direction ply position and the amount to damage area on the residual strength are considered here.

A Study on Photoelastic Fringe Patterns in Cutting Proces(I) (切削加工 의 光彈性的 現象 에 관한 硏究( I ))

  • In this study the phenomenon of cutting stress which arises on cutting tools and work pieces in cutting process is investigated by rake angle of cutting tools and feed for this measurement, P$_{s}$-1 (high modulus, photolastic Inc.) was used as a cutting tool, P$_{s}$-3 (medium modulus, photolastic Inc.) was used as work piece and reduction apparatus was attached to the head stock, and orthogonal cutting was adapted as a cutting method and transparent glass was used to block the strain in the orientation of thickness. The followings are the results of this study. (1) Photoelastic experimental equipments have made it possible to make dynamic measurement and analyze stress distribution in cutting tool and work piece surface which has hitherto been conducted only in static measurement and analyzing method. (2) The maximum stress arising at tools and work pieces in cutting process is on the tool edge tip, and the maximum stress arising on the tip of cutting tools is equal to that on the contacting area of work pieces in values. (3) The distributions of maximum shear stress on certain parts of the cutting tools and work pieces are as follows; for cutting tools, .alpha.=12.deg., .alpha.=0.deg., .alpha.=-12.deg. in order, and for work pieces, .alpha.=-12.deg., .alpha.=0.deg., .alpha.=12.deg. in opposite order.der.

Fabrication of Barium Oxide Ferrite Magnet-II (바리움 훼라이트 자석의 시작 - II)

  • The magnetic properties of Ba-Ferrite ( $M^{+2}$O.nF $e_{2}$ $O_{3}$ is highly improved under the condition of composition ratio n=4.4 when B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$ is added to Ferrite, the adding amount and sintering temperature which affect the magnetic properties were investigated and the following results; were obtained; 1. Magnetic properties are varied with B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$ content and singering temperature, and coercive force and residual induction can be improved with B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$. 2. The optimal content of B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$ amount is about 4 mol %, 3. Without the addition of B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$, the optimal sintering temperature is about 1300.deg. C, but when 4 mol % of B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$ is added, the optimal sintering temperature falls to the range of 900.deg. C to 1100.deg. C and it also improves magnetic properties. 4. Residual induction increases as the singering temperature is raised to 1100.deg. C. Coercive force also increased as the sintering temperature is raised to 1000.deg. C, but it rapidly decreases when sintering temperature goes beyond 1000.deg. C. 5. Only a negligible change may be noticed in the decrease of Curie temperature by the addition of about 4 mol % of B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$.
