Although the structure of brushless dc motor is similar to that of a Permanent magnet synchronous motor, its torque-speed characteristcis are the same as those of a permanent magmet dc motor. The brushless dc motor drive systemcomposed of power converter including inverter, rotor positioning sensor and controller has been investigated for the purpose of position control when the motor is fed by a current controlled voltage source inverter. The equivalent transformation of a brushless dc motor into an separately exited dc motor has been possible with the vector control (field oriented control) technique. It is shown in this paper that the position control of a brushless dc mitor can be done fairly accurately only using q-axis current.
This paper is concerned with the DC motor speed control using distributed control system. We design CAN nodes which can transmit control and monitoring data through CAN bus and apply these to distributed networked control system. The results of the experiment validate effectiveness of our distributed networked control system.

This paper presents the sensorless position control of an auxiliary scaffolding step system for vehicles using DC motors. The designed auxiliary scaffolding step has a mechanical protector at the stop position. At this position, the scaffolding is forcibly stopped by the mechanical protector, and the motor current is dramatically increased to the stall current of the DC motor, thereby increasing the electrical damage. In this study, the estimated back EMF- and current model-based observers are proposed to estimate the motor speed and stop position. A simple V/F acceleration voltage pattern is used to operate the auxiliary scaffolding system. The estimated moving position is adopted to determine the stop position of the DC motor with the load current state. The operating current of the DC motor can be reduced by the estimated moving position and V/F acceleration pattern. At the stop position, the proposed sensorless position controller can smoothly stop the DC motor with the estimated moving position and reduced load current without any mechanical and electrical stress from the stall current from the mechanical protector. The proposed control scheme is verified by the comparison of simulations and experiments.
This paper deals with speed-sensorless control of DC servo motor using Neuro-Fuzzy Observer. DC servo motor has very low rotor inertia and excellent response characteristic and it is very useful to control torque and speed. It is easy to detect the voltage and current and resolver or encoder is used to measure a rotor speed. But it has a limit as a driving speed to detect speed precisely. So it is problem to improve the performance of the driving system. To solve this problem, it is studied to detect a speed of DC servo motor without sensor. In particular, study on the method to estimate the speed using the observer is performed a lot. In this paper, the gain of the observer is properly set up using the Neuro-Fuzzy control and Neuro-Fuzzy Observer that have a superior transient characteristic and is easy to implement compared the existing method is designed. It calculates the differentiation of the rotor current directly using the rotor current measured in the DC servo motor and estimates the speed of the rotor using the differentiation. Proposed speed sensorless control method is performed using the estimated speed. Also, it is proved feasibility of the proposed observer from the comparison tested a case with a speed sensor and a case without a speed sensor which used a highly efficient drive and 200[w] DC servo motor starting system.
This Paper deals with speed control of DC servo motor using a Fuzzy-Sliding observer. Speed sensor detect a speed of rotor continuously. But It have a limit as a driving speed to detect speed precisely. So it is problem to improve the performance of the driving system To solve the problem, it is studied to detect a speed of DC motor without sensor In particular, study on the method to estimate the speed using the observer is performed a lot. In this parer, the gain of the observer is properly set up using the fuzzy control and sliding observer that have a superior transient characteristic and is easy to implement compared the exist ing method is designed. It estimate the derivative of the armature current directly using the armature current measured in the DC motor. It estimate the speed of the rotor using the differentiation. It is Proposed speed sensor less control method using the estimated speed. Optimal gain of Luenberger observer is set up using the fuzzy control and adapted speed control of DC servo motor. It is proved excellence and feasibility of the presented observer from the comparison tested a case with a speed sensor and a case without a speed sensor which used a highly efficient drive and 200W DC servo motor start ing system.
In some requirements of dc motor drive circuit applications are high quality output with generation of low internal conducted EMI. However the conventional dc motor drive circuits have been usually using unbalanced circuit which generates the high conducted EMI to the frame ground. This paper presents a balanced dc motor drive circuit which is effective way to reduce the common-mode noise. The circuit balancing is to make the noise pick up or occurring in both conductor lines, signal path and return path is equal in amplitude and opposite phase so that it will cancel out in the frame ground. The common-mode conducted noise reduction of this proposed dc motor drive is confirmed by experimental results.
DC motor is a representative electric motor commonly utilized in various motion control fields. However, DC motor-based motion control systems suffer from degradation of position precision due to nonlinear static friction. In order to enhance control precision, friction model-based compensators have been introduced in previous researches, where friction models are identified and counter inputs are added to control inputs for cancelling out the identified friction forces. In this paper, a static friction compensator is proposed without use of a friction model. The proposed compensation algorithm utilizes internal state manipulation to generate compensation pulses, and related parameters are easily tuned experimentally. The proposed friction compensator is applied to a DC motor-based motion control system, and results are presented in comparison with those without a friction compensator.
