In this paper presents approaches to the design of a hybrid fuzzy logic proportional plus conventional integral- derivative(fuzzy P+ID) controller in an incremental form. This controller is constructed by using an incremental fuzzy logic controller in place of the proportional term in a conventional PID controller. The PID type controller has been widely used in industrial application due to its simply control structure, easy of design, and inexpensive cost. However, control performance of the PID type controller suffers greatly from high uncertainty and nonlinearity of the system, large disturbances and so on. This paper presents a hybrid fuzzy logic proportional plus conventional integral derivative controller In comparison with a conventional PID controller, only one additional parameter has to be adjusted to tune the Fuzzy P+ID controller. In this case, the stability of a system remains unchanged after the PID controller is replaced by the Fuzzy P+ID controller without modifying the original controller parameters. Finally, the proposed hybrid Fuzzy P+ID controller is applied to BLDC motor drive. Simulation results demonstrated that the control performance of the proposed controller is better than that of the conventional controller.

Generally, multi-legged walking robots have excellent mobility in rough and uneven terrain, and they are deployed for the safety of rescuers in various disaster environments. However, as each leg is driven by a number of actuators, it leads to a complicated structure and high power consumption; therefore, it is difficult to put them into practical use. In this article, a new concept is proposed of a walking robot whose legs are driven by a complex linkage structure to overcome the deficiencies of conventional multi-legged walking robots. A double crank-rocker mechanism is proposed, making it possible for one DC motor to actuate the left and right movements of two neighboring thighs of the multi-legged walking robot. Each leg can also move up and down through an improved cam structure. Finally, each mechanism is connected by spur and bevel gears, so that only two DC motors can drive all legs of the walking robot. The feasibility of the designed complex linkage mechanism was verified using the UG NX program. It was confirmed through actual production that the proposed multi-legged walking robot performs the desired motion.

In this paper, a new control scheme to use 6-switch IGBI module for 3-phase switched reluctance motors(SRM) is proposed. Compared with the conventional asymmetric bridge converter topology, it can minimize the entire system size and cost. Therefore, it may have a new topology lot SRM to compare the other ac motors, such as induction motors, brushless dc motors, and so on. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulation, and experimental results.

PHEV(Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) and BEV(Battery Electric Vehicle) equip high voltage batteries to drive motor and vehicle electric system. Those vehicle require OBC(On-Board Charger) for charging batteries and LDC(Low DC/DC Converter) for converting from high voltage to low voltage. Since the charger and the converter actually separate each other in electrical vehicles, there is a margin to reduce the vehicle weight and area of installation by integration two systems. This paper studies a 1.5kW LDC converter that can be integrated into an OBC using an isolated current-fed converter by simplifying the design of LDC transformers. The proposed LDC can control the final output voltage of the LDC by using a fixed arbitrary output voltage of the bidirectional buck-boost converter, so that Compared to the existing OBC-LDC integrated system, it has the advantage of simplifying the transformer design considering the battery voltage range, converter duty ratio and OBC output turn ratio. Prototype of the proposed LDC was made to confirm normal operation at 200V ~ 400V input voltage and maximum efficiency of 91.885% was achieved at rated load condition. In addition, the OBC-LDC integrated system achieved a volume of about 6.51L and reduced the space by 15.6% compared to the existing independent system.
This paper describes the implementation of the vector control schemes for a variable-speed 131kW PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) in super-high speed application. The vector control with synchronous reference frame current regulator has been implemented with the challenging requirements such as the extremely low stator inductance$(28^{\mu}H)$, the high dc link voltage(600V) and the high excitation frequency(1.2kHz). Because the conventional position sensor is not reliable in super-high speed, a vector control scheme without any position sensor has been proposed. The proposed sensorless algorithm is implemented by processing the output voltage of the PI current regulator, and hence the structure is simple and the estimated speed is robust to the measurement noise. The experimental system has been built and the proposed control has been implemented and evaluated. The test result, up to the speed of 60,000 r/min, shows the validity of the proposed control.
This paper shows the results of the development of a small size of digital type continuous and intermittent welding auto-carriage based on microprocessor (Intel 80196KC) for welding process with long welding line. The developed welding auto-carriage loads welding torch and tracks welding line. It is an automaton largely used for welding process with a lot of long welding lines such as shipbuilding and structure. Most traditional auto-carriages have been developed based on analog circuit for open loop control. So this analog circuit welding auto-carriage cannon control welding speed. Specially welding auto-carriage for intermittent welding condition is so complicated and has the low precision of control performance in welding distance and non-welding distance. The auto-carriage developed in this paper has the following characteristics: It has not only functions of traditional carriage but also functions such as pseudo-welding process of big iron structures, intermittent welding in order to limit heat for welding thin plates, crater treatment of the final step of welding, acceleration at the initial step of welding and deceleration in the final step of welding. The main control board of auto-carriage, power supply system and DC motor drive wee developed and manufactured. The welding speed and the welding distance of the developed auto-carriage are controlled accurately by feedback control using photo-sensor. Hardware and software robust against the heat and noise produced on the welding process are developed.

Wall-climbing robots have been developed for various purposes, such as cleaning skyscraper windows, maintaining large structures, and welding vessels. Conventional wall-climbing robots use movement systems based on wheels or legs. However, wheeled robots suffer from slipping effects, while legged systems require many actuators and control systems for the complex linkage structure, which also increases the weight of the robot. To overcome these disadvantages, we propose a new wall-climbing robot that walks based on gorilla locomotion. The proposed robot consists of a DC drive motor, a vacuum pump for adsorption, and a micro controller for controlling the system. The performance of the robot was experimentally verified on vertical and horizontal flat surfaces. The robot could be used for various functions in industrial sites or disaster areas.
The performance characteristics of a dynamic control system are evaluated according to the transient and steady-state responses. The transient performance is the controllability of the output for the tracking of the reference or the ability to reduce or reject the effects of unwanted disturbances; alternatively, the steady-state performance is represented by the magnitude of the control error at the steady state. As the effects of the two performances on each other are reciprocal, a controller design that shows a zero steady-state error for the ramp input is uncommon because of the challenge regarding the achievement of an acceptable transient response. This paper proposes a PI+double-integral controller for the elimination of the steady-state error for the ramp input while a sound transient performance is maintained. The control-gain design procedure is described by the second-order response for the step input and the response of the error dynamics for the ramp input. The PI+double-integral controller is designed for the first-order transfer function that is derived from a system identification with the open-loop experiment data of the dc-motor. The simple structure of the proposed controller enables the adoption of a low-end microcontroller for the implementation of a real-time control. The experiment results show that the control performance is as effective as that of the simulation analysis for the operating point of linear system; furthermore, the PI+double-integral controller can be conveniently applied to the control system, which is desirable for the improvement of the steady-state error.

Many industrial servo amplifiers employ power transister as output device. Thyristor converters are not adopted to drive servo motor, although thyristor is superior to power TR in power rating, noise immunity, price, and size. The reason is, thyristor has no ability of self turn - off. Here in this paper line commutation, in which thyristor is turned off naturally since cathode voltage is higher than anode as time goes by, is employed to turn on thyristor with a delicate sequence. We developed thyristor servo amplifier which does not cause any damage on thyristor because it is designed to prevent triggering the two SCRs in the same arm simultaneously. And it was made clearly how to trigger SCR without any power line shorting and also harmonic analysis is carried out with the aid of FFT analyzer and proved that it can be used even severe reactive load. The designed circuit operated as a good DC amplifier in conventinal servomotor and the results can be use as a position control system application.
