  • A new VSC scheme, OFVSC(Output Feedback Variable Structure Controller), is proposed by consisting of servo compensator and output feedback VSC with dynamic switching function. The servo compensator which is designed for output variable enhances the robustness for all the types of disturbances, and makes effective tracking is possible without using error dynamics which is usually used in conventional VSC. The proposed OFVSC is applied to the practical design of a robust DC servo control system and the control performances are evaluated through theoretical analysis and simulations.

  • Weldability of Mg alloy was investigated using servo-actuated DC resistance spot welder. Due to its uncommon electrical and mechanical properties, lots of voids and cracks were observed inside nugget with conventional weld schedule. Lobe curve was proposed to clarify proper electrode force and weld current, which guarantee reasonable weld strength and fatigue life. Macro structure of sectioned specimen was examined to count total number of void and crack. Post weld schedule is also proposed to reduce micro victors hardness value of weld zone.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope a servo system with faster and more accurate response. This paper describes a method of approximate reasoning for fuzzy control of servo system based on the decomposition of $\alpha$-level fuzzy sets. We propose that fuzzy logic algorithm is a body from fuzzy inference to defuzzificaion cases where the output variable u directly is generated PWM The effectiveness for robust and faster response of the fuzzy control scheme are verified for a variable parameter by comparison with a PID control and fuzzy control A position control of DC servo system with a fuzzy logic controller is demonstrated successfully.

Study for the Controller Design of a Direct Drive Servo Valve (직접구동형 서보밸브의 제어기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • The direct drive servo valve(DDV) is composed of a DC rotor, link, valve spool and displacement sensor(LVDT) where the spool is directly coupled to the DC motor through the link. Since the DDV is a kind of one-stage valve, the robust controller is required to overcome the flow force effect on the spool motion. The mathematical equations are derived and the stability, accuracy and response speed of a DDV are investigated analytically using a linearized system block diagram. Proportional control, PID control. Time-Delay control, Sliding Mode control, and Proportional control using the load pressure are applied to DDV to find which one shows the best control performance. The digital computer simulation results show that the proportional control using the load pressure satisfies the design requirement of response speed and steady state error regardless of the variation of load pressure,

  • This paper proposes the design of PI controller using real-coding genetic algorithm showing a good performance on convergence velocity and diversity of population among evolutionary computations. To evaluate the proposed method's effectiveness, we apply the proposed GA-PI controller to the speed control of an actual DC servomotor system. The experimental results show that GA-PI controller has the better control performance than PI controller in terms of settling time rising time and overshoot.

  • This paper proposes a new identification method that utilizes fuzzy inference in parameter identification. The prosed system has an additional control loop where a real plant has replaced by a plant model. Fuzzy rules describe the relationship between comparison results of the features and magnitude of modification in the model parameter values. In this paper, the tuning method which determines parameters of PID controller automatically is described through applying this algorithm to DC servo motor. And we intend to investigate effectiveness of the method by experiments. This method is effective in auto-tuning because the response of the closed loop has verified. The simulated and the experimental results of the dc servo motor are shown to confirm the viability of this method.

  • The speed and torque control performance of the DC motor used in the industrial field is affected by the change of parameters. In particular the change of armature resistance can be greatly originated from various load conditions. Accordingly a large number of studies to estimate those problems in the servo motor control field have already been under way. In this paper, the armature resistance on the DC motor under several load and speed conditions is estimated by the Artificial Neural Network(ANN), and the validity is proven by the speed estimation of sensorless speed control system.

  • In the position control system, the output of a controller is generally used as the input of a plant but the undesired noise is included in the output of a controller. Therefore, there is a need to use a precompensator for rejecting the undesired noise. In this paper, the expanded PID controller with a precompensator is constructed. The precompensator and PID controller are designed by a neural network with two-hidden layer and these coefficients are changed automatically to be a desired response of system when the response characteristic is changed under a condition.

  • The present DC Motor or STEP Motor have been used in electronic work or products. There have been researches that let those Motor improved more conveniently in controlling and measuring those than before. By controlling and measuring those, the convenience of users and the functions of products can be improved. In addition, the responding speed of whole system can be increased by improving it of controlling and measuring. Therefore it is necessary that we develop motor motion application. Because of this necessity, Neural-Network was used to improve the responding speed of controlling and measuring, and a new application was developed for the convenience of users. This thesis showed efficiency of controlling methodology by Neural-Network superior to others in correctness and speed. We are intend to verify its appropriateness though experimentations.

  • The LQG regulator presented in this dissertation is designed to improve system stability with the structure in which Kalman Filters and LQ regulator are inter-connected to avoid disturbances on the system. For the sake of performance evaluation of the LQG regulator in this dissertation, the regulator is put in use for the speed control of DC Servo Motors without speed sensors on them to realize speed control without sensors by estimating uncertain speed with its state signals and to construct an optimal controller using the LQG regulator. Furthermore, state estimation process with white noise entered onto the systems is been experimented through a series of simulation. As a consequence, the process of estimating speed signals out of the signals with white noise inputs is confirmed using Kalman Filter.
