Optimization of Forging Process of Gate Valve using DACE Model (DACE 모델을 이용한 게이트밸브 단조공정의 최적설계화)

  • In case of the welding process, a conventional production method of gate valve, it has a merit of light weight, but also a demerit of high production cost and an impossibility in mass production due to work by hand. However, in case of the forging process, it has economic merits and can take a mass production process, too. The main focus of this paper is the optimization of preform in the forging process. This paper proposed an optimal design to improve the mechanical efficiency of gate valve made by forging method instead of welding. the optional design is conducted as application of real response model to Kriging model using computer simulation. Also, from verification of the response model with optimized results we were confirmed that the applications of Kriging method to structural optimum design using finite element analysis and equation are useful and reliable.

  • The purpose of this study is an optimization of gate valve made by forging method instead of welding method. In this study, we propose an optimal shape design to improve the mechanical efficiency of gate valve. In order to optimize more efficiently and reliably, the meta-modeling technique has been developed to solve such a complex problems combined with the DACE (Design and Analysis of Computer Experiments). The DACE modeling, known as the one of Kriging interpolation, is introduced to obtain the surrogate approximation model of the function. Also, we prove reliability of the DACE model's application to gate valve by computer simulations using FEM(Finite Element Method).

  • The butterfly valve has been used to control the switch and flux of fluid. While research about the characteristics of butterfly valve fluid have been done, study of the optimum design, considering structural safety, must keep pace with it. Thus, a method is proposed for an optimum butterfly valve. Initially, the stability of the butterfly valve, using FEM and CFD, is evaluated, and a variable is selected using the initial analysis results. Also, the shape optimization design is accomplished using the DACE model. In terms of research results, the experiment satisfied the objective and limitation functions.

Three morphological types ot the genus Metagonimus encysted in the dace, Tribolodon taczanowskii, caught from the Sumjin River (섬진강산 황어에 피낭한 Metagonimus 속 선충의 세 가지 형태학적 유형)

  • Three morphological types of the genus Metagonimus were found encysted in the dace, Tribolodon tacganowskii, caught from the Sumjin River, Korea. They include Metagonimus Yokogawa type (M. yokogawai) , Miyata type, and Koga type according to Saito's classification. The metacercariae were experimentally fed to rats and hamsters and a total of 1,624 Metagonimus worms were recovered from their small intestine. The number of each type was 820 for Yokogawa type, 688 for Miyata type, 46 for Koga type, and 70 undetermined. The major differential keys between Yokogawa and Miyata types were in the position of two testes, distribution of uterine tubules, and size of the eggs, and the keys between Miyata and Koga types were in the position of two testes, distribution of vitelline follicles, and size of the eggs. The validity of Miyata type as a specific level should be retained until more convincing evidences are obtained. Koga type is regarded as a synonym of M. takahashii. The present results reveal that there are 3 morphological types of Metagonimus whose larvae are encysted in the dace, T. tacganowskii, from the Sumjin River.   • Current trend of design technologies shows engineers to objectify or automate the given decision-making process. The numerical optimization is an example of such technologies. However, in numerical optimization, the uncertainties are uncontrollable to efficiently objectify or automate the process. To better manage these uncertainties, Taguchi method, reliability-based optimization and robust optimization are being used. To obtain the target performance with the maximum robustness is the main functional requirement of a mechanical system. In this research, the robust design strategy is developed based on the DACE and the global optimization approaches. The DACE modeling, known as the one of Kriging interpolation, is introduced to obtain the surrogate approximation model of the system. The robustness is determined by the DACE model to reduce the real function calculations. The simulated annealing algorithm of global optimization methods is adopted to determine the global robust design of a surrogated model. The mathematical problems and the MEMS design problem are investigated to show the validity of the proposed method.

  • In recent study on design of experiments, the complicate metamodeling has been studied because defining exact model using computer simulation is expensive and time consuming. Thus, some designers often use approximate models, which express the relation between some inputs and outputs. In this paper, we review and compare the complicate metamodels, which are expressed by the interaction of various data through trying many physical experiments and running a computer simulation. The prediction model in this paper employs interpolation schemes known as ordinary kriging developed in the fields of spatial statistics and kriging in Design and Analysis of Computer Experiments (DACE) model. We will focus on describing the definitions, the prediction functions and the algorithms of two kriging methods, and assess the error measures of those by using some validation methods.

  • Kriging model is widely used as design DACE(analysis and computer experiments) model in the field of engineering design to accomplish computationally feasible design optimization. In this paper, the optimization of gate valve was performed using Kriging based approximation model. The DACE modeling, known as the one of Kriging interpolation, is introduced to obtain the surrogate approximation model of the function. In addition, we describe the definition, the prediction function and the algorithm of Kriging method and examine the accuracy of Kriging by using validation method.

A Study on the Oogeneis of False Dace (Pseudorasbora parva) (참붕어 (Pseudorasbora parva)의 난자형성과정에 관한 연구)

  • The oogenesis and ultrastructure of fertilized egg envelope of false dace were investigated by light and electron microscope. The cytoplasm of false dace oogonia was basophilic and many nucleoli were located at inner side of nuclear membrane. In primary oocytes, yolk vesicles were distributed in marginal area only and egg envelope was not formed on egg outside. In secondary oocyte, the egg envelope was formed and yolk vesicles were increased than that of early stage in cytoplasm. The amount of basophilic substance was decreased. In case of matured egg, thickness of egg envelope and site of egg were increased, basophilic substance was distributed in egg envelope around only. The yolk vesicles were changed to yolk mass in accordance with development. The fertilized egg was of ellipsoidal, adhesive type and yellowish, have a single micropyle in the area of the animal pole. The fertilized egg envelope consisted of three layers, an outer adhesive layer, a middle layer consisting of 6 lamellae alternating layers and an inner electron dense layer. An outer surface of the fertilized egg envelope was arranged by adhesive fibrous structures. In conclusion, it is summarized that the oogenesis of false dace were the increase of cell size, the formation and accumulation of yolk, and decrease of basophilic intensity in cytoplasm. These ultrastructural characteristics of fertilized egg envelope from false dace can be utilized in taxonomy of teleost.

Differences in Larvicidal Activity of Complement and Chemiluminescent Response of Phagocytes in Carp (Cyprinus carpio), Crucian carp (Carassius auratus) and False Dace (Pseudorasbora parva) against Excysted Metacercariae of Clonorchis sinensis (간흡충 탈낭유충에 대한 잉어, 붕어, 참붕어의 보체 살충능 및 식세포 Chemiluminescent 반응 차이)

  • Differences in larvicidal activity of complement and chemiluminescent response of phagocytes in carp (Cyprinus carpio), crucian carp (Carassius auratus) and false dace (Pseudorasbora parva) against excysted metacercariae of Clonorchis sinensis were investigated. The prevalence of C. sinensis metacercariae of false daces caught at Nakdong river (NR) was 100%. However, no C. sinensis metacercariae were found in false daces, which were collected at a reservoir in Chinyoung (CY), crucian carps and carps. The sera of false dace, which were intensively infected with C. sinensis metacercariae, killed excysted metacercariae of C. sinensis more readily than that of carp. However, the serum obtained from C. sinensis metacercariae-free false dace showed the lowest larvicidal ability. The larvicidal ability of sera collected from each fish species completely disappeared when the complement was inactivated by heating. When supernatant of excysted metacercariae homogenate were added to phagocytes of each species, the chemiluminescent responses were significantly (p<0.05) diminished in false dace and carp. The inhibition ratio of chemiluminescent responses by the supernatant was 22.9% in false dace, 9.6% in crucian carp and 12.4% in carp.

공간선형모형을 이용한 전산실험의 분석

  • 오늘날 과학 및 공학연구를 위하여 복잡한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 자주 사용하고 있다. 전통적 물리적 실험이 입력수의 한계와 출력의 측정오차를 가지는 반면 시뮬레이션 실험 또는 전산실험은 입력수에 제한이 거의 없고 대부분 출력 또한 측정오차가 없거나 매우 작다. 이러한 전산 실험의 분석을 위해 비교적 새롭게 등장한 통계적 방법이 DACE(Design and Analysis of Computer Experiments)이나. 본 발표에서는 이 DACE의 기본 개념과 원리를 간단히 소개하고, 실제로 기계설계에 효과적으로 적용된 사례를 보이고, 향후 연구방향 등을 논의하겠다. 특히 시뮬레이션 코드에 존재하는 절대상수의 추정문제(calibration)와 공간선형 모형의 최적선택을 위한 알고리즘을 소개한다.
