  • This paper is concerned with the $H_{\infty}$ control problem of 2-D discrete state delay systems described by the Roesser model. The condition for the system to have a specified $H_{\infty}$ performance is derived via the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. Furthermore, a design procedure for $H_{\infty}$ state feedback controllers is given by solving a certain LMI. The design problem of optimal $H_{\infty}$ controllers is formulated as a convex optimization problem, which can be solved by existing convex optimization techniques. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

  • The bond pull test is the most widely used technique for the evaluation and control of wire bond quality. The wire being tested is pulled upward until the wire or bond to the die or substrate breaks. The inspector test strength of wire by manually and it takes around 3 minutes to perform the test. In this paper, we develop a 3D vision system to measure 3D position of wire. It gives 3D position data of wire to move a hook into wires. The 3D measurement method to use here is a confocal imaging system. The conventional confocal imaging system is a spot scanning method which has a high resolution and good illumination efficiency. However, a conventional confocal systems has a disadvantage to perform XY axis scanning in order to achieve 3D data in given FOV (Field of View) through spot scanning. We propose a method to improve a parallel mode confocal system using a micro-lens and pin-hole array to remove XY scan. 2D imaging system can detect 2D location of wire and it can reduce time to measure 3D position of wire. In the experimental results, the proposed system can measure 3D position of wire with reasonable accuracy.

  • In this paper, we consider cooperative D2D communications in cellular networks. More precisely, a cellular user leases part of its spectrum to facilitate the D2D communication with a goal of improving the energy efficiency of a D2D pair. However the D2D pair is untrusted to the cellular user, such resource sharing may result in the information of this cellular user unsecured. In order to motivate the cellular user's generosity, this D2D pair needs to help the cellular user maintain a target secrecy rate. To address this issue, we formulate a joint spectrum and power allocation problem to maximize the energy efficiency of the D2D communication while guaranteeing the physical layer security of the cellular user. Then, a theorem is proved to indicate the best resource allocation strategy, and accordingly, an algorithm is proposed to find the best solution to this resource allocation problem. Numerical results are finally presented to verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • With the recent popularity of smart terminals, the demand for high-data-rate transmission is growing rapidly, which brings a new challenge for the traditional cellular networks. Both device-to-device (D2D) communication and small cells are effective to improve the transmission efficiency of local communication. In this paper, we apply D2D communication into a small cell network system (SNets) and study about the optimization problem of resource allocation for D2D communication. The optimization problem includes system scheduling and resource allocation, which is exponentially complex and the optimal solution is infeasible to achieve. Therefore, in this paper, the optimization problem is decomposed into several smaller problems and a hierarchical scheme is proposed to obtain the solution. The proposed hierarchical scheme consists of three steps: D2D communication groups formation, the estimation of sub-channels needed by each D2D communication group and specific resource allocation. From numerical simulation results, we find that the proposed resource allocation scheme is effective in improving the spectral efficiency and reducing the outage probability of D2D communication.

  • This paper considers a scenario that more D2D users exist in the cell, they compete for cellular resources to increase their own data rates, which may cause transmission interference to cellular users (CU) and the unfairness of resource allocation. We design a resource allocation scheme for selfish D2D users assisted by cooperative relay technique which is used to further enhance the users' transmission rates, meanwhile guarantee the QoS requirement of the CUs. Two transmission modes are considered for D2D users: direct transmission mode and cooperative relay transmission mode, both of which reuses the cellular uplink frequency resources. To ensure the fairness of resource distribution, Nash bargaining theory is used to determine the transmission mode and solve the bandwidth allocation problem for D2D users choosing cooperative relay transmission mode, and coalition formation game theory is used to solve the uplink frequency sharing problem between D2D users and CUs through a new defined "Selfish order". Through theoretical analysis, we obtain the closed Nash bargaining solution under CUs' rate constraints, and prove the stability of the formatted coalition. Simulation results show that the proposed resource allocation approach achieves better performance on resource allocation fairness, with only little sacrifice on the system sum rates.

  • Device-to-device (D2D) multicast has become a promising technology to provide specific services within a small geographical region with a high data rate, low delay and low energy consumption. However, D2D multicast communications are allowed to reuse the same channels with cellular uplinks and result in mutual interference in a cell. In this paper, an intelligent channel assignment algorithm is designed in D2D underlaid cellular networks with the target of maximizing network throughput. We first model the channel assignment problem to be a throughput maximizing problem which is NP-hard. To solve the problem in a feasible way, a novel channel assignment algorithm is proposed. The key idea is to find the appropriate cellular communications and D2D multicast groups to share a channel without causing critical interference, i.e., finding a channel for a D2D multicast group which generates the least interference to network based on current channel assignment status. In order to show the efficacy and effectiveness of our proposed algorithm, a novel search algorithm is proposed to find the near-optimal solution as the baseline for comparisons. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm improves the network throughput.

  • Performance of the previously proposed 2D-image reconstruction method for soft tissues in x-ray computed tomography is evaluated thoroughly through numerical experiments with 4 assumed absorption rates of different symmetries under practical conditions, and the following special features are made clear: It is quite precise, especially at points where the object taking larger values; about two orders less magnitude errors than the conventional most precise method when no noise existing, without any 1D- or 2D-interpolation. In spite of its high sensitivity to the noises, it is even more precise by about 8dB than the latter, to relative pojection data noise power of 5%.

  • We consider a class of auto-associative memories namely N-Cubes (Neural-network Cubes) in which 2-D gray-level images and hidden sinusoidal 1-D wavelets are stored in cubical memories. First we develop a learning procedure based upon the least-squares algorithm, Therefore each 2-D training image is mapped into the associated 1-D waveform in the training phase. Second we show how the recall procedure minimizes errors among the orthogonal basis functions in the hidden layer. As a 2-D images ould be retrieved in the recall phase. Simulation results confirm the efficiency and the noise-free properties of N-Cubes.
