The Distribution of Dictyostelids Cellular Slime Molds in Gokneung and Anyang Streamside and Effects of Environmental Factors on Its Distribution (하천(곡릉천,안양천)변 토양에서 세포성 점균의 분포 및 토양 환경요인의 영향)

  • Dictyostelids cellular slime molds were isolated from the soils of Gokneung and Anyang streamside in Korea. The fifteen species including two undescrihed species were identified. These were as follows ; Dictyostelium macrocephalurn D. sphaerocephalum, D. aureum var. aureum, D.mucoroides, D. minutum, Polyspondyium pallidum. D. giganteum, P. violaceum. D. purpureum. D.brefeldianum, D. flavidum, D. mucoroides var. storoniferum, D. septentrionalis, D. aureum var. luteolum,D. aureo-stipes var. aureo-stipes. D. macrocephalum was the dominant species. and D. sphaerocephalum. D. aureum var. avreum were relatively common. D. mucoroides var. storoniferum, D. septentrionalis were the undescrihed species in Korea. In the soils of streamside, dominant species was shifted by D. macrosephalum, D. sphaerocephalum. which were rare in the forest soils. The total clones per gram of streamside soils were greater than that of forest soils, whereas the number of species in streamside was smaller than the in forest soils. As a result, the ratio of the number of clones to species was very high in the soils of streamside, Environmental factors of soil pH, water content, organic content, total nitrogen and total phosphorus made a effect differently on the cellular slime molds community.   • From the methanol extract of the whole plants of Carpesium macrocephalum $F_R$. et $S_{AV}$., five sesquiterpene lactones (1: carabron, 2: tomentosin, 3: ivalin, 4: 4H-tomentosin, 5: carabrol) and three terpenoids (6: loliolide, 7: vomifoliol, 8: citrusin C) were isolated. The structures and stereochemistry of compounds 1-8 were established on the basis of chemical analysis as well as 1D- and 2D-NMR spectroscopy. Among them, compounds 2, 4, and 6-8 were isolated for the first time from Carpesium species.

  • Dictyostelid cellular slime molds were quantitatibly isolated from the soils of mt.halla (above 900m in altitude), korea, according to the 'clonal isolation technique(cavender and raper, 1965a)'. Total fifteen species were found, including 1 new and 6 undescribed species.these are dictyostelium mucorodes, dictostelium minutem,polysphondylium pallidum fasciculatum, polysphondylium violaceum, dictyostelium flavidum,dictyostelium fasciculatum, polysphondylium violaceum, dictyostelium flavidum sp. n.(HL-1),dictyostelium aureo-stipes var. aureo-stipes, dictyostelium capitatum, dictyostelium giganteum,dictyostelium polycephalum,dictyostelium brefeldianum,dictyostelium macrocephalum, and dictyostelium sphaerocephalum, dictyostelium sp. (HL-2), dictyostelium sp. (CJ-9). D. mucoroides was the dominant species, and D. minutam,p.pallidum, d. fasciculatum, and p. violaceum were relatively common. d. polycephalum, d. brefeldianum, d. macrocephalum, dictyostelium sp. (HL-3), and d. sphaerocephalum were very rare. Species diversity appeared to be the highest in the deciduous broad-leaved forest from the soils of which 14 species were isolated. eight species were, including five undescribed species, isolated only from this forest soils. Number of isolates severely decrease at the forests above 1,500m in altitude.

  • thirteen dictyostelid cellular slime molds were isolated from forest soils, cattle dung and manure inisland Ulneungdo, South Korea. They were ten species including Dictyostelium aureo-stipes var. aureo-stipes, D. brefeldianum, D. macrocephalum, D. caudabasis, D. sphaerocephalum, D. giganteum, D. crassicaule, Polysphondylium pallidum, P. violaceum and P. tenuissimum as well as three species unidentified. D. aureo-stipes var. aureo-species of genus Polysphondylium distributed widely. It was thought that species diversi쇼 was considerabley higher.

  • Seven dictyostelid cellular slime molds isolated from the forest soils of Mt. Halla were described and illustrated. Dictyostelium flavidum Hong et Chang and three unidentified Dictyostelium, HL-2, HL-3 and CJ-9 were compared and discussed. All the isolates were cultivated on low nutrient media, 0.1- L-P(pH6) with Escherichia coli at 20-22$^{\circ}C$. Seven unrecorded species were all polar granule (PG) negative. These were Dictyostelium crassicaule Hagiwara, D. sphaerocephalum (Oud.) Sacc. et March, D. macrocephalum Hagiwara, Yeh et Chien, D. capitatum Hagiwara, D. brefeldianum Hagiwara, D. aureum var. aureum Cavender, Worley and Raper, and D. giganteum Singh.

  • Five dictyostelid cellular slime molds were isolated from the littoral grassland ecoystems of the lake Paldangho, safeguard of waterworks, Kyounggi-do, South Korea. They were Poiysphoadylium violceum, Dictyosielium aureo-stipes var. aureo-stipes D crassicaule, D macrocephalum and D gigauteum. P. violaceum was dominant species. It live on the low nutrient and barren soils as the littoral zone destabilized in surface soils, litters and chemicals by inundation an rain precipitation. Dictyostelids in Mt. Paektu (백두산의 딕티오형 세포성 점균)

  • The occurrence and distribution of dictyostelid cellualr slime molds were investigated in forests of Mt. Paektu. Fourteen species were isolated from forest soils of thirteen sites as follows Dictyostelium minutum, D. brefeldianum, D. crassicaule, D. capitatum, D. mucoroides var. stoloniferum, D. macrocephalum, D. mucoroides, D. septentrionalis, D. purpureum, D. aureo-stipes, P. violaceum, P. pallidum and two unidentified speceis. Mean total clones and species found were 4,415.69 No./g and 2.92, respectively. Dominant species were D. minutum, D. brefeldianum and D. crassicaule in this study area, and first widespread species was D. minutum. All sepecies that found in Mt. Paektu were isolated from forests of South Korea. But dominant species was different from those of South Korea. Total clones and species were more in subalpine Eurya japonica than in low elevated abies nephrolepis. It was thought that distribution of dictyostelids was related to soil microenvironments by vegetation, not or not more elevation.

  • This study was carried out to investigate occurrence and distribution of cellular slime molds by vegetation in Mt. Seorak. Eleven species were isolated from surface soil samples as follows: P. violaceum, P. candidum, P. purpureum, D. brefeldianum, D. minutum, D. delicatm, D. crassicaule, D. macrocephalum, D. firmibasis, D. polycephalum and D. implicatum. The dorminant species was D. brefeldinum. D. delicatum, D. implicatum, D. polycephalum and P. candidum of them were isolated rarely in Korea. It can be thought that these results were caused by characteristics of forest zone and geographical condition which Mt. Seorak is located at east side of central areas of Korea.

  • The occurrence and distribution of Dictyostelid cellular slime molds on Mt. Mukak soils with two different vegetation types were investigated. Two plating methods were used for the isolation of dictyostelids following Dr. Hagiwara's method. Dictyostelium and Polysphondylium were isolated in these soils. D. purpureum (subtropical form ) and D. giganteum were observed in both Quercus variabilis and Pinus thunbergii communities soils. D. delicatum, B. sp-1 (D. brefeldianum complex). D. sp-2 (D. brefeldianum complex), D. minutum and P. pallidum complex occurred only in Q. variabilis soil. D. macrocephalum, D. purpureum (temperate form ), D. robustum, D. polycephalum, P. violaceum, and P. pallidium occurred only in P. thunbergii soil. P. pallidium complex is being identified.
