  • The systematic function of the PLC (Programmable - Logic Controller) has been enhanced immensely due to the various special modules that consist of the conventional I/O control contants plus special function, which enables the flexible application to highly advanced systems. Position control module is one of the various PLC special module. In this paper, we proposed new synchronized operating method and implemented 8 - axis servo control system. The validity of proposed method is verified througth experimental results and it will be possible to expand 32 - axis servo control system by RS - 485 communication spec.

가변금형 성형에서 탄성회복 제어 연구 (Study on Springback Control in Reconfigurable Die Forming)

  • Springback is one of the most difficult phenomena to analyze and control in sheet forming. Most of traditional springback control methods rely on experiences of skilled workers in industrial fields. This study focuses on prediction and generation of optimum reconfigurable die surfaces to control shape errors originated by springback. For this purpose, a deformation transfer function(DTF) was combined with finite element analysis of the springback in the 2D sheet forming model of elastic-perfectly plastic materials under the condition without blank holder. The results showed shape errors within 1% of the objective shape, which were comparable with analytically predicted errors. In addition to this theoretical analysis, DTF method was also applied to 2D and 3D sheet forming experiments. The experimental results showed ${\pm}0.5$ mm and ${\pm}1.0$ mm shape error distribution respectively, demonstrating that reconfigurable die surfaces were predicted well by the DTF method. Irrespective of material properties and sheet thickness, the DTF method was applicable not only to FEM simulation but also to 2D and 3D elasto-reconfigurable die forming. Consequently, this study shows that springback can be controlled effectively in the elasto-RDF system by using the DTF method.

  • The dynamic design and evaluation of mechanisms need to be performed in a collaboration or concurrent system in order to shorten the development period of the product. A web-based system is the most suitable concurrent system to promote effective collaboration. In order to develop such a web-based system, Java Applet, which is not restrained by a computer's H/W and S/W, is widely used. This paper introduces a web-based 3D animation system for visualizing the motions of mechanisms. This web-based 3D animation system uses a JAVA Applet program method, which can be operated in a web-browser, and the Open Inventor for Java, which supports 3D graphics. It does not only allows the user to verify dynamic simulation results and design variables through the web, but it also has the advantage of supporting collaboration among a number of users through simultaneous connections.

  • This paper presents the effect of driving waveform for piezoelectric bend mode inkjet printhead with optimized mechanical design. Experimental and theoretical studies on the applied driving waveform versus jetting characteristics were performed. The inkjet head has been designed to maximize the droplet velocity, minimize voltage response of the actuator and optimize the firing frequency to eject ink droplet. The head design was carried out by using mechanical simulation. The printhead has been fabricated with Si(100) and SOI wafers by MEMS process and silicon direct bonding method. To investigate how performance of the piezoelectric ceramic actuator influences on droplet diameter and droplet velocity, the method of stroboscopy was used. Using the water based ink of viscosity of 11.8 cps and surface tension of 0.025N/m, it is possible to eject stable droplets through 64 nozzles average velocity of 4.05 m/s with standard deviation of 0.06 m/s and average diameter of $29.2\;{\mu}m$ with standard variation of $0.5\;{\mu}m$.

  • A new design method of stable RF power amplifier using 3dB coupled line is proposed in this thiesis. The proposed method of broadband matching consist of resistive matching circuits at low frequency and lossless matching circuits at microwave band. This design method increase the stability of an amplifier and is suitable for interstage matching. When high power amplifier is designed using this method for PCS base transceiver station, the measured resutls show thst the gain of 18.5dB, and 9W (39.5dBm) output power. We use motorola's MRF6401 for medium power and MRF 6402 for large power and cascaded them.

  • Cam mechanism is one of the common devices used in many automatic machinery. Specially cylindrical cam generates three dimensional motions. Thus, the shape design procedure must have high accuracy. This paper proposes the shape design procedure for a cylindrical cam and follower mechanism using a relative velocity method. The relative velocity method and coordinate transformation are used to find a contact point between cam and follower. Also, the full shape of the cylindrical cam can be generated by using the geometric relationships and the contact constraints. As a result, this paper presents an example for the sape design of the cylindrical cam in order to prove the accuracy of the design procedures.
