  • A navel fast-switching LCD with dual-domain bend (DDB) mode is described DDB alignment is achieved using antiparallel-rubbed cell filled with chiral-doped LC. Initial alignment is mono-domain 180-degree twist. Tilt direction is controlled by oblique electric field to be counter direction in each domain Twist-to-DDB deformation occurs continuously so that DDB mode does not require high-voltage initialization which is inevitable in Optically Compensated Bend (OCB) mode. DDB gives wide and symmetric viewing angle in contrast to mono-domain bend formed from 180-degree twist showing strong asymmetry.

  • Human NeuNAc-9-P synthase is a two-domain protein with ability to synthesize both NeuNAc-9-P and KDN-9-P. Its mouse counterpart differs by only 20 out of 359 amino acids but does not produce KDN-9-P. By replacing the AFL domain of the human NeuNAc-9-P synthase which accommodates 12 of these differences, with the mouse AFL domain we examined its importance for the secondary KDN-9-P synthetic activity. The chimeric protein retained almost half of the ability of the human enzyme for KDN-9-P synthesis while the NeuNAc-9-P production was reduced to less than 10%. Data from the homology modeling and the effect of divalent ions and temperature on the enzyme activities suggest conformational differences between the human and mouse AFL domains that alter the shape of the cavity accommodating the substrates. Therefore, although the AFL domain itself does not define the ability of the human enzyme for KDN-9-P synthesis, it is important for both activities by aiding optimal positioning of the substrates.

정박지 통항선박의 충돌위험 모델 개발을 위한 기초연구 - 정박지 통항선박의 안전 - (Basic Research for the Development of Collision Risk Model of Passing Vessels at an Anchorage (Safety Domain))

  • 본 연구는 충돌 사고 중에서 정박지에서 대기하고 있는 선박과 이 정박지를 통항하는 선박 간 충돌사고가 자주 발생함에 따라, 정박선 사이를 통항하는 선박의 충돌위험을 예측할 수 있는 모델을 개발하기 위한 기초 연구로 통항 선박의 안전 영역을 도출하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 우리나라 최대 항만인 부산항 남외항 정박지를 대상 해역으로 선정하고 정박선이 가장 많이 대기한 기간 VTS(Vessel Traffic Service) 항적 자료를 추출하여 분석하였다. 정박선 사이를 통항하는 선박의 길이(L)를 기준으로 정박선과 어느 정도의 안전한 거리(D)를 두고 통과하는지를 알기 위하여 통항 선박의 방위별 D/L 비를 구하였다. D/L 비 분포의 평균 domain을 기준으로 기존 선박 domain 범위 안으로 정박선이 존재할 비율을 분석하여 VTS 관제사의 위험 정도를 반영한 domain을 도출하였다. 추후 연구로는 정박선 사이의 최소 안전거리인 Domain-watch와 정박지 통항 선박의 안전 domain을 활용한 정박지 통항 선박의 충돌위험도 평가 및 분석을 하고, 이를 통해 VTS가 정박지를 좀 더 효율적이고 안전하게 관리하기 위한 모델을 개발하고자 한다.

  • Park, Seo and Kim은 소프트웨어의 시험단계와 유지보수단계에 모두 적용할 수 있는 입력 영역 기반 소프트웨어 신뢰성 성장 모델을 개발하였다. 이들의 모형은 완전디버깅의 가정 하에서 개발되어졌다. 입력 영역 기반 소프트웨어 신뢰성 성장 모델이 현실적이기 위해서는 이러한 가정은 개선되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 불완전 디버깅 하에서 사용할 수 있는 입력 영역 기반 소프트웨어 신뢰성 성장 모델을 제안하고 그 통계적 특성을 조사한다.

  • Let T be an integral domain, M a nonzero maximal ideal of T, K = T/M, $\psi$: T \longrightarrow K the canonical map, D a proper subring of K, and R = $\psi^{-1}$(D) the pullback domain. Assume that for each $x \; \in T$, there is a $u \; \in T$ such that u is a unit in T and $ux \; \in R$, . In this paper, we show that R is a weakly Krull domain (resp., GWFD, AWFD, WFD) if and only if htM = 1, D is a field, and T is a weakly Krull domain (resp., GWFD, AWFD, WFD).

Selective Encryption Algorithm for 3D Printing Model Based on Clustering and DCT Domain

  • Three-dimensional (3D) printing is applied to many areas of life, but 3D printing models are stolen by pirates and distributed without any permission from the original providers. Moreover, some special models and anti-weapon models in 3D printing must be secured from the unauthorized user. Therefore, 3D printing models must be encrypted before being stored and transmitted to ensure access and to prevent illegal copying. This paper presents a selective encryption algorithm for 3D printing models based on clustering and the frequency domain of discrete cosine transform. All facets are extracted from 3D printing model, divided into groups by the clustering algorithm, and all vertices of facets in each group are transformed to the frequency domain of a discrete cosine transform. The proposed algorithm is based on encrypting the selected coefficients in the frequency domain of discrete cosine transform to generate the encrypted 3D printing model. Experimental results verified that the proposed algorithm is very effective for 3D printing models. The entire 3D printing model is altered after the encryption process. The decrypting error is approximated to be zero. The proposed algorithm provides a better method and more security than previous methods.

  • Let (RDTF, M) be a Milnor square. In this paper, it is proved that R is a ${\mathcal{C}}$-hereditary domain if and only if both D and T are ${\mathcal{C}}$-hereditary domains; R is an almost perfect domain if and only if D is a field and T is an almost perfect domain; R is a Matlis domain if and only if T is a Matlis domain. Furthermore, to give a negative answer to Lee, s question, we construct a counter example which is a C-hereditary domain R with $w.gl.dim(R)={\infty}$.

  • 2-D flow fields are studied by using a shared memory parallel computer with a parallel flow analysis program which uses domain decomposition method and MPI library for data exchange at overlapped interface. Especially, effects of directional domain decomposition on parallel efficiency are studied for 2-D Lid-Driven cavity flow and flow through square cavity. It is known from the present study that domain decomposition along the main flow direction gives better parallel efficiency in 1-D partitioning than along the other direction. 2-D partitioning, however, is less sensitive to flow directions and gives good parallel efficiency for most of the cases considered.
