The pure Ti is taken annealing process for one hour at 90$0^{\circ}C$. The pure Ti is sufficient for ASTM B348 Grade2. The rolling mill roll the Ti-8Ta-3Nb(wt%) which became vacuum melting in arc furnace until the length is about 45mm and the thickness is about 6.05mm. Then it is made 6mm$\times$6mm$\times$44mm by wire cutting with EDM and it is made ∮ 6mm by rough cutting with the general purpose lathe. The machining accuracy of implant parts in the dental and medical science are decided by dimension, shpe, straightness, surface roughness. It is difficult to cut for the Ti alloy. It is caused problems of straight degree and surface roughness to the Ti alloy have many cases which length is smaller than diameter in cutting. Total 24 specimens different kind of 4 alloies are used in experiment to gain a cutting property. According to the cutting velocity, cutting depth, cutting temperature, feed and clearance angle experiments are performed. Conclusively it is expected that cutting depth of 0.5mm, feed velocity of 0.07mm/rev and cutting velocity of 80m/min could make a suitable result.

In end milling process, the undeformed chip section area and cutting forces vary periodically with phase change of the tool. However, the real undeformed chip section area deviates from the geometrically ideal one owing to cutter runout and tool shape error. In this study, a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects cutter runout and tool shape error was presented during up-end milling of Inconel 718 using measured cutting forces. The specific cutting resistance, K. and $K_t$ are defined as the radial and tangential cutting forces divided by the modified chip section area. Both of $K_r$, and $K_t$ values become smaller as the helix angle increases from $30^\circ$ to $40^\circ$ Whereas they become larder as the helix angle increases from $40^\circ$ to $50^\circ$. On the other hand, the $K_r$, and $K_t$ values show a tendency to decrease with increase of the modified chip section area and this tendency becomes distinct with smaller helix angle.

In end milling process, the undeformed chip section area and cutting forces vary periodically with phase change of the tool. However, the real undeformed chip section area deviates from the geometrically ideal one owing to cutter runout and tool shape error. In this study, a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects cutter runout and tool shape error was presented during down end-milling of Inconel 715 using measure cutting forces. Contrary to the up-end milling the value of radial specific cutting resistance, $K_r$, becomes larger as the helix angle increases from $30^{\circ}$ to $40^{\circ}$ and it shows almost same value at $50^{\circ}$ The value of tangential specific cutting resistance, $K_t$ becomes larger as the helix angle increases same as in up-end milling, the $KK_r$, and $K_t$ values show a tendency to decrease with increase of the modified chip section area and this tendency is distinct with helix angle $40^{\circ}$.
Warts and barks of apple trees were vector of White rot. Two devices removing warts and barks for the use of pest control on apple trees were developed and evaluated in this study, and their results are as follows ; 1. A total of 148 warts were examined to determine the average size. About 35 percent of the examined warts were 6~8mm long, 4~8mm wide and 4~6mm thick in size. About 30 percent of the examined warts were 4~6mm long, 2~4mm wide and 6~8mm thick in size. 2. Seventy-one percent of the examined barks removed were 4~8mm in thickness. 3. A blade with 30 degree of cutting angle required 3 to 22 percent less cutting energy than those with 15 and 45 degrees of cutting angles. 4. The cutting torque decreased from 31 N-cm to 12 N-cm with an increase of cutting speed from 26cm/s to 104cm/s for a feeding speed of 0.31 mm/s with the blade angle of 30 degrees. 5. The cutting torque increased from 6N-cm to 32N-cm with an increase of branch diameter from 6mm to 14mm for a feeding speed of 0.31 mm/s with the blade angle of 30 degrees. 6. Two devices mounted on a mower for removing warts and barks were evaluated and proved effective.

The high speed machining has been widely applied to manufacture dies and machine elements in industrial field. Especially, 5-axis milling has been employed to produce a wide range of turbine blades, impellers and complex molds. In this study, the machining characteristics of injection molds were investigated according to tool tilting angles in 5-axis milling. The cutting force and surface roughness were investigated with various tool tilting angles. When the tool tilting angle was over than 10 degree, the characteristics of cutting force and surface roughness were improved in machining of Al alloy.

The effect of tool geometry on the tool wear in turning the austenitic stainless steel, STS 304 was investigated. The wear of TiN-TiCN-TiC-TiAlN coated tungsten carbide tool was the smallest, showing larger wear in the order of Si-Al-O-N ceramic, TiN coated tungsten carbide, TiN- TiCN- TiN coated tungsten carbide, TiC-TiN cermet and M20 tungsten carbide tools at the same cutting conditions. The S-type tool of M20 with the larger side cutting edge angle showed the smallest tool wear in all tests due to preventing the groove wear of the side cutting edge. The wear of the S-type tool with the rake angle of $15^{\circ}$ became smaller than with that of $-5^{\circ}$, but the tool with the nose radius of 0.8mm did not perform much better with increasing the rake angle.

In this study, the cutter acting forces were measured by 3-directional load cell at two different skew angles and various S/d ratios during a series of linear cutting tests using a slim conical pick. The analysis for cutting performance were carried out after calculating average values of the measured results. The increase of penetration depth results in the decrease of specific energy. And the variations of the cutter acting forces depending on penetration depth in the case of 6 degree skew angle were smaller than in the case of 0 degree skew angle. From this results, 6 degree skew angle is more effective than 0 degree skew angle in designing optimal specifications of cutting head. In addition, $F_c/F_n$ under the setting of 6 degree skew angle was smaller than under the setting of 0 degree skew angle. However, it should be considered that the increase of cutter acting force in the cutting direction accompanied the increase of driving force in the case of the setting for 6 degree skew angle.

In this study, the carbon steels, SM20C were machined with the tungsten carbide tipped circular saw to clarify the cutting-off characteristics in terms of tool wear. The results show that an improved performance in view of both the tool wear and the cutting efficiency was obtained by using oil base cutting fluid at the cutting speed of 100m/min with the feed of 0.06mm/tooth. The rake angle of 10$^{\circ}$ , clearance angle of 8$^{\circ}$ , nose radius of R0.1mm, and end cutting edge champer of 0.1mm$\times$25$^{\circ}$ are believed as the best tool geometries. The tool wear decreases due to using the saw of the disk of STS5 and the tool material of P30.

In metal cutting operation, it is very important that predict cutting force and work surface. Vibration is an unstable cutting phenomenon which is due to the interaction of the dynamics of the chip removal process and the structural dynamics of machine tool. When vibration on, it reduces tool life, results in poor surface roughness and low productivity of the machining process. In this study, the experiments were conducted in machining center without cutting fluid to investigate the phenomenon of vibration. In the experiments, accelerometers were set up at the tail stock and tool holder and signals were picked up. Surface roughness profiles are generated under the ideal condition and the occurrence of vibration based on the surface shaping simulation model.

To be presented is two-dimensional chip-load analysis for cutting-load smoothing which is needed in unmanned machining and high speed machining of sculptured surfaces. Cutter-engagement angle and effective cutting depth are defined as chip-loads which are the geometrical measures corresponding to cutting-load while machining. The extreme values of chip-loads are geometrically derived in the line-line and line-arc-line blocks of the two-dimensional NC-codes. AFA(automatic feedrate adjustment) strategy for cutting-load smoothing is presented based on the chip-load trajectories.
