지하철 터널에 적용된 대구경 쉴드 TBM의 굴착성능 연구 분석 (A Study of the Large Diameter Shield TBM Excavation for Subway Tunnels)

  • The objective of this study is controlling of the large diameter Shield TBM excavation for subway tunnels. In this paper, it will focus on the selection of Shield TBM and the problems of excavation due to unusual abrasion of the Disk Cutters and the distorted Cutter Mounts, in mixed layer of soil in below and hard rock in above, and in rock layer. And also, it will be discussed that the type of ground improvement to change and repair the Disk Cutters and the distorted Cutter Mounts, Advance Rate, Cutter Torque, etc. The results of this study will be using controlling of the excavation in various large diameter Shield TBM for subway tunnels.

커터 밀 인버터의 속도변화에 따른 굴 패각의 입도분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on Size Distribution of Oyster Shell According to the Change of Inverter Cutter Mill Speed)

  • Oyster shell is light weighted and its strength characteristic is similar to sand so we have reviewed to find its suitability of aggregate. Therefore we found fineness modulus and size distribution of oyster shell by grinding it with inverter cutter mill varying inverter speed and screening size. In our test, the fineness modulus has tendency of decrease in higher speed and tendency of increase in bigger diameter of screening size. 5~2.5mm, 2.5~1.2mm, 1.2~0.6mm, and below 0.6mm of oyster shell particle size could be used in further test for suitability of aggregate.

CAD/CAM을 이용한 구두창 금형 가공 (Machining for Outsole Mold of Shoes Using CAD/CAM)

  • The outsole mold of the shoes has been manufactured using electro-discharge machining by graphite electrode or using casting etc. The study is concerned with the pattern design for the outsole of shoes by CAD, the modeling and the generation of NC data by CAM system and the machining by CNC machining center. The ball end mill and the engraving cutter is used as cutter and the cutting conditions are adjusted according to the shapes and sizes of the cutter and part in cutting. The method showed the possibility coping with the rapid change of shoes industry and proposed the possibility for higher productivity and quality on mold-manufacturing of shoes outsole.

  • In end milling process, the undeformed chip section area and cutting forces vary periodically with phase change of the tool. However, the real undeformed chip section area deviates from the geometrically ideal one owing to cutter runout and tool shape error. In this study, a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects cutter runout and tool shape error was presented during up-end milling of Inconel 718 using measured cutting forces. The specific cutting resistance, K. and $K_t$ are defined as the radial and tangential cutting forces divided by the modified chip section area. Both of $K_r$, and $K_t$ values become smaller as the helix angle increases from $30^\circ$ to $40^\circ$ Whereas they become larder as the helix angle increases from $40^\circ$ to $50^\circ$. On the other hand, the $K_r$, and $K_t$ values show a tendency to decrease with increase of the modified chip section area and this tendency becomes distinct with smaller helix angle.

In this study, a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects cutter runout and tool shape error was presented during down end-milling of Inconel 715 using measure cutting forces. Contrary to the up-end milling the value of radial specific cutting resistance, $K_r$, becomes larger as the helix angle increases from $30^{\circ}$ to $40^{\circ}$ and it shows almost same value at $50^{\circ}$ The value of tangential specific cutting resistance, $K_t$ becomes larger as the helix angle increases same as in up-end milling, the $KK_r$, and $K_t$ values show a tendency to decrease with increase of the modified chip section area and this tendency is distinct with helix angle $40^{\circ}$.

엔드밀링 절삭력에 미치는 공구형상오차 I- 상향 엔드밀링 - (Effects of Cutter Runout on End Milling Forces I-Up Eng Milling-)

In this study, a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects cutter runout and tool shape error was presented in up end milling process using measured cutting forces. The average specific cutting resistance, Ka is defined as the main cutting force component divided by the modified chip section area. Ka value becomes smaller as the helix angle increases from $30^circC \;to\;40\circC$. But it becomes larger as the helix angle increases from $40^\circ$to 50 . On one hand, the Ka value shows a tendency to decrease with increase of the modified chip section area and this tendency becomes distinct with smaller helix angle.

디스플레이 기기용 강화유리 절단기의 안정화 설계 (Stability Design of a Laser Cutter for the Strengthened Glass)

  • Strengthened glass is widely used in the display industry for the smart phone and the tablet PC's, the market of which shows steady growth. The strengthened glass is prone to the fracture due to the machined surface defects such as crack and notch. The surface defects are caused mostly by the vibrations of the laser cutter. In this study, the vibrations of the laser cutter were investigated through the frequency response experiment and the computer simulation. The main reasons of the structural vibrations were analyzed, and further the design alterations were deduced and applied to the machine to check the effects of those alterations and to eventually improve the structural stability. The result shows that simple design modifications without major structural change can substantially suppress the vibrations, and improve the quality of the machined surface.

정면밀링에서 공구마멸 패턴과 메커니즘 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Tool-wear Patterns and Mechanisms in Face Milling)

  • This paper provides an experimental analysis on the breakage of the coated tool using the face-milling cutter of the machining center due to changes in the cutting speed and the feed rate. The experimental studies were conducted using STS 304 materials and the damage to the tool was analyzed according to the change in machining time. The experiments confirmed that the cutting speed and feed rate affected the tool damage and the mechanical impact and thermal shock were determined to severely damage the tool. From the production engineering point of view, it has been experimentally investigated that the increased feed rate significantly influences the material removal rate more than the increased cutting speed.

선박용 소형 프로펠러의 곡면 모델링 및 단일 셋업에 의한 4축 NC가공 데이터 생성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Geometric Modeling and Generation of 4-axis NC Data for Single Setup of Small Marine Propeller)

  • Small marine propeller is generally machined by 5-axis machining. This paper suggests a method to create geometric model from point array data and 4-axis machining NC data for propeller. With conventional method, the setting posture should be changed, because propeller has front and back surface of wing. The change of setting posture has a bad influence on precision of propeller. So this paper pro-poses a method to machine propeller by single setup for 4-axis machining. The cutter moves to parallel direction of the XY plane. To determine the cutter orientation efficiently, the' tilting guiding line' is proposed. A proposed algorithm is written in C language and successfully applied to the 5-axis milling machine of industrial field.
