This paper shows that internet retailers adjust the total expenses of their customer's purchase by the nominal price of each product and the delivery fee of the purchase. This paper compares the total expenses of purchasing a bundle of goods in the internet market against the total expenses of purchasing the same bundle of goods in the traditional market. The results show that the type of goods and the total expenses of a purchase, together with their interaction, determine up to 60% or 80% of the variance of the difference between the expenses up the same purchase in the two markets. The results also show that neither the expenses of a purchase nor its interaction with the product type affects the dispersion of total purchase expenses in the internet market.
Purpose: This study examines the impact of dessert cafe quality factors-interaction, environmental, outcome, and product quality-on hedonic and utilitarian values, satisfaction, and loyalty. It explores how these elements influence consumer behavior in the context of dessert cafe experiences. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected from 563 consumers who visited dessert cafés within the last three months. The analysis was conducted using SPSS 28.0 and SmartPLS 4.0 to test the relationships among the café quality factors, consumption values, satisfaction, and loyalty. Result: Interaction, environmental, outcome, and product quality positively influenced hedonic value. Interaction and outcome quality impacted utilitarian value, while environmental and product quality did not. Satisfaction was positively affected by environmental and product quality but not by interaction or outcome quality. Satisfaction influenced loyalty, while neither hedonic nor utilitarian value significantly impacted loyalty. Conclusions: The study highlights the importance of understanding how different quality dimensions in dessert cafés affect consumer satisfaction and loyalty. The findings provide valuable insights for enhancing customer experiences and formulating effective marketing strategies in the dessert cafe industry.

This study aims to present explicit findings from an internal perspective, namely the interaction patterns of marketing communication between pentahelix elements and testing the expectations of tourists towards tourism activities through a simulation model between variables. This study is divided into two methods of analysis, namely qualitative explorative, where the study aims to invest in communication patterns and patterns of interaction between pentahelix stakeholders in Sitiwinangun Tourism Village, West Java, Indonesia with involve 17 informants who came from pentahelix elements (Government, academics, community, business and media). Second, quantitative method to measure the extent of effectiveness rather than collaboration activities and the role of marketing communication to tourist satisfaction is done by an analytical approach involving 30 tourists through customer satisfaction surveys. The results of this study illustrate that the involvement of each pentahelix element has not been maximized. The pattern of interaction and communication between elements also shows the gap between interests, expectations, and reality. This study provides a real picture that to realize a tourism program that is profitable, holistic, and sustainable requires collaboration that is wrapped with transparent and interactive communication patterns. The marketing communication concept approach combined with collaboration theory between stakeholders can be useful for sustainable tourism.
The principal objective of this study was to assess the effects of food involvement moderating the relationship between food choice motives, including health concerns, weight control and ethical concern, and fruit consumption. A total of 290 questionnaires were completed. Moderated regression analysis was utilized to assess the relationships among variables. The results of the study showed that the results of data analysis also indicated good model fit. The direct effects of health concerns on fruit consumption were statistically significant in Models 1 and 2. However, the direct effects of ethical concern on fruit consumption were statistically significant in Model 3. As had been expected, the interaction of ethical concerns and food involvement exerted a significant effect on fruit consumption in Model 3. However, the interaction of health concern and food involvement, as well as weight control and food involvement exerted no significant effects on fruit consumption. Moreover, ethical concerns about fruit consumption exerted a significant negative effect at the low level and a positive effect at the high level of food involvement, except in cases in which the level of food involvement was medium. The results of this study revealed that fruit marketers should attach importance to the interaction effect of food involvement in order to better understand the elements of market demand and customer loyalty.
The digital transformation of finance is accelerating, and digital banking has already become a major banking channel. Banks have traditionally placed importance on CRM(Customer Relationship Management) and have tried to retain their loyal customers, who contribute significantly to the bank, such as long-term transactions, holding accounts with a certain balance or more, and holding loans. In this situation, this study exploratorily analyzed the consumer behavior of digital banking deposits in a major bank of Korea(1,145 samples). Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS. The main findings of the study are summarized as follows. It was found that there were differences of consumer behavior in digital banking deposits by generation, and the MZ generation used digital banking more on holidays than other generations. As a result of analyzing the behavior of existing loyal customers and regular customers of digital banking deposit, there was a significant difference in both the amount and period of the deposit. It was confirmed that the existing loyal customers of the bank also engage in consumer behavior that contributes to the bank in digital banking. In addition, the interaction between the customer type and the date of sign up for the deposit period, which is the goal setting of financial consumers, it was found that there was a significant effect. This study empirically analyzed the consumer behavior of digital banking in a situation where decrease of bank branches and encounters with digital banking. The major concepts of the consumer behavior theory are Loyal Customer, Goal Pursuit, and Habit, which were confirmed in an example of digital banking. The results of this study can suggest practical implications for existing banks and Internet-only banks, including the importance of customer management in digital banking.
The purpose of this study is to examine the moderating effect of consumer competency associated with the influence of interaction styles with sales man on inappropriate consumer compliant behaviors. For the purpose, the survey questionnaire was administered to 1,050 consumers across country by the on-line survey. The research data are analyzed using four statistical methods: factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression, and moderating regression analysis. The results are as follows: First, some demographic variables, for example, male, level of education, marital status, amount of monthly household income had significant effects on inappropriate consumer compliant behaviors such as rudeness of behavior and interference with business. Second, it is significant that two types of interaction with sales man(passive and assertive interaction) have positive effect on rudeness of behaviors, while assertive interaction only has positive effect on inference with business. Third, this research has been shown to be significant, based upon the findings on moderating effects of consumer competency in respect to consumers' level of inappropriate compliant behaviors. In particular, consumer competency has negative moderating effects between interaction styles with sales man and rudeness of behaviors. Practical implications were discussed in terms of effective customer management strategies and policy making related to consumer education.
Purpose - The recent franchise industry is rapidly developing. Some franchisees have a low barriers to entry and competition among companies is intensifying. In this dynamic competitive environment, companies need to focus on customer preferences, quality, and technical interfaces to gain competitive advantage. As a result, companies are required to measure the performance of service values in order to provide differentiated services from competitors. In the franchise industry, customer experience marketing of service values will enable companies to create new businesses. Franchise firms should explore a variety of services to increase service value and reduce failures. Research design, data, methodology - The questionnaire of this study was based on the previous research. Surveys were conducted on panels of online surveys. Surveys were conducted on the panel who had visited the restaurant franchise within the past month. The survey was conducted for about 7 days from February 13, 2019 to February 19, 2019. Total 300 samples, 293 were used in the analysis except for seven unfair questionnaires. Results - The findings of this study are as follows: Emotional, monetary, and reputation values have positive effects on cognitive and affective attitudes. Quality value and behavioral value did not effect cognitive attitude and affective attitude significantly. In addition, affective attitude has positive effect on loyalty, but cognitive attitude did not significant effect on loyalty. Conclusions - First, food-service franchise company should develop a service that enables customers to use the store conveniently. We need to develop a comfortable environment for our customers and provide intangible services. Second, food-service franchise company should provide a reasonable price service. Food-service franchise company needs to sell a high quality menu at a reasonable price to generate profits. Third, food-service franchise companies need to strategically respond to their reputation. In other words, food-service franchise company needs to constantly monitor the reputation of its customers and respond appropriately to market conditions. Fourth, food-service franchise company needs to develop a service method capable of emotional interaction with customers. Food-service franchise firms need to develop ongoing service methods and educate their staff.
The proliferation of online customer reviews has completely changed how consumers purchase. Consumers now heavily depend on authentic experiences shared by previous customers. However, deceptive reviews that aim to manipulate customer decision-making to promote or defame a product or service pose a risk to businesses and buyers. The studies investigating consumer perception of deceptive reviews found that one of the important cues is based on review content. This study aims to investigate the impact of the information amount of review on the review truthfulness. This study adopted the Information Manipulation Theory (IMT) as an overarching theory, which asserts that the violations of one or more of the Gricean maxim are deceptive behaviors. It is regarded as a quantity violation if the required information amount is not delivered or more information is delivered; that is an attempt at deception. A topic modeling algorithm is implemented to reveal the distribution of each topic embedded in a text. This study measures information amount as topic diversity based on the results of topic modeling, and topic diversity shows how heterogeneous a text review is. Two datasets of restaurant reviews on Yelp.com, which have Filtered (deceptive) and Unfiltered (genuine) reviews, were used to test the hypotheses. Reviews that contain more diverse topics tend to be truthful. However, excessive topic diversity produces an inverted U-shaped relationship with truthfulness. Moreover, we find an interaction effect between topic diversity and reviews' ratings. This result suggests that the impact of topic diversity is strengthened when deceptive reviews have lower ratings. This study contributes to the existing literature on IMT by building the connection between topic diversity in a review and its truthfulness. In addition, the empirical results show that topic diversity is a reliable measure for gauging information amount of reviews.
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of interaction between product category (fresh vs. indulgent product) and shopping options (shipping charge and delivery time) on customer satisfaction and purchase intent in an e-commerce context. When ordering groceries online, consumers begin to allocate a larger share of their grocery budget toward product categories that generally contain healthier items at the expense of product categories that generally contain more indulgent products. Moreover, customers are extremely sensitive to shipping options such as shipping charges and delivery time. Therefore, this research investigates the issue at a more segmented level to focus on the impact that one dimension of logistics service quality - product category, shipping charge, and delivery time have on customer satisfaction and purchase intent. Research design, data, and methodology: To test the theoretically derived priori hypotheses concerning product category, shipping charges, delivery time, satisfaction, and purchase intent, this research presented a scenario-based experiment. Eight treatment groups were assigned by the method of product category (fresh produce vs. indulgent product), shipping charge (free vs. paid), and delivery time (one-day vs. two to three days). A total of 240 subjects were divided into groups and exposed to one of the eight scenarios. Participant's purchase intention was the dependent variable, and ANOVA and L-matrix were used to analyze for main and interactive effects between factors. Conclusions: Results indicated that in tests 1 and 2, free shipping and fast delivery time increased consumer satisfaction as well as purchase intent, and fast delivery moderated the impact of free shipping on consumer satisfaction and purchase intent. Test 3 showed that the effect of free shipping on consumer satisfaction and purchase intent moderated by fast delivery for indulgent products. In contrast, fast delivery for fresh products moderated the effect of paid shipping on consumer satisfaction and purchase intent. Consistent with this proposed mechanism, the relative importance of fresh produce versus indulgent products highlights the effect of shipping options on consumer satisfaction and purchase intent when ordering the target product in an e-commerce context. We conclude with a discussion of the theoretical and practical implications of our findings.
