IP Telephony service was restricted to an outgoing call and low quality since the trust domestic IP Telephony service launch of Saerome co. Ltd, in Jan. 2000. However, Interest of IP Telephony service, which is substituted for PSTN, has been highly elated because of the developed equipment softswitch and new technology. This kind of importance and marketing of VoIP are recognized to telecommunication providers. With this trend, they try to administrate customer satisfaction and invest R&D to survive in this hard competition and unexpected change. To achieve this objective, they should try to realize the searching process of the quality decision attribution (QDA). However, there is little research on the aspect of service quality of Internet telephony so far. For this, the investigator established the tangibles, the reliability, the responsibility, the assurance, the empathy, the charge with information sources as core elements. This paper examines the validity of the newly developed IT consulting SERVQUAL measurement tool. In an attempt to measure Ire IS customers' expectations and perceived quality of the services they received, the researchers developed a diagnostic tool of SERVQUAL based on the solid theoretical background, which can specifically be applied to the IT consulting service sector. This on-going research so far, has been applied to six (6) different organizations that have received IT consulting services over the past years. From the preliminary data collected, the correlation and the factor analyses were conducted to understand the underlying concept and refinement of the measurement tool. Although the correlation analysis showed a little tendency of collinearity among some of the variables, all showed sound relationship of the proposed hypotheses. The exploratory factor analytic approach was chosen because it does not set any priori constraints on the estimation of components or the number of components to be extracted. The number of different factor solutions was extracted and tested to see which solution represents better grouping of the variables. The Crombach's Alpha was computed on different combinations of the factor solutions to ensure validity. The results show 8-dimensional IT consulting SERVQUAL measures which they are, assurance, knowledge & skill, customer relationship, support, empathy, process management, expertise, and education, seem more appropriate than the originally proposed 6 dimensions. The study approach was non-experimental cross-sectional research design. The longitudinal design of follow-up studies to periodically revise and refine current measure is strongly recommended for fine tuning of the tool.
Consumers' desire for beauty has become a driving force in the beauty service industry which was further developed through specialization and segmentation. Nail-care service, which is one of the beauty services, is showing rapid growth, and intense competition among salons has become apparent. Thus, service management method and marketing strategy are required for customer satisfaction. Therefore, in this study, we tried to classify the nail-care services on the basis of systematization and realization of its characteristics which are fundamental when developing management and marketing strategies. The subjects of this study were women in their 20s and above living in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon areas. As a result, the nail-care service factors are classified as "external environment" (interior, celebrity, newness), "internal environment" (equipment and products, cleanliness, and environment), "location" (location and transportation convenience), "reputation" (good reputation), "technician skill," "kindness," "relationship" (relationship, empathy, and affinity), and "price and discount." The consumer types of nail-care services were classified into three groups according to the degree of involvement of these concept systems. These results can be used as marketing basics and will be the basis for studying marketing strategies. However, the consideration of setting up a marketing strategy for each consumer type will be presented in a follow-up study.

In this study, we tried to evaluate the relative importance and find out the differences in consumer perceptions regarding service recovery strategies and the service provider in the distribution industry by using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis method. Therefore in this study, we tried to systematize various recovery strategies which were considered very important during service failure process in the distribution industry and analyze the relative importance for each recovery strategy. We set hierarchy composed of four items of monetary, action-oriented, psychological, and assured level as primary selection criteria and a total of 16 items(indemnity, refund, gift, gift certificate, prompt resolution, exchange, manager support, explanation, apology, empathy, acknowledge, kindness, assortment, after service, manage subcontractor, manage employee) as secondary selection criteria. We tried to take one step further from the service sector and study service recovery strategies specialized in distributor services. This study suggests various implications about service recovery strategies of distributors. First, this study can provide practical implications - e.g. service recovery efforts should be applied differently depending on service channels. There is a perceptual difference with respect to the importance of the types of service recovery strategies between service provider and final customer. Second, we can find theoretical implications in terms of identifying the priorities through hierarchy design of new recovery strategies and comparison of each element from the classifications of the current fractional recovery strategies. We hope to help service providers to build more efficient recovery strategy system based on the results of this study.
As experiential education services are growing, the need for proper management is increasing. Considering that adequate measures are an essential factor for achieving success in managing something, it is important for managers to use a proper system of metrics to measure the performance of experiential education services. However, in spite of this need, little research has been done to develop a valid and reliable set of metrics for assessing the quality of experiential education services. The current study aims to develop a multi-item instrument for assessing the service quality of experiential education. The specific procedure is as follows. First, we generated a pool of possible metrics based on diverse literature on service quality. We elicited possiblemetric items not only from general service quality metrics such as SERVQUAL and SERVPERF but also from educational service quality metrics such as HEdPERF and PESPERF. Second, specialist teachers in the experiential education area screened the initial metrics to boost face validity. Third, we proceeded with multiple rounds of empirical validation of those metrics. Based on this processes, we refined the metrics to determine the final metrics to be used. Fourth, we examined predictive validity by checking the well-established positive relationship between each dimension of metrics and customer satisfaction. In sum, starting with the initial pool of scale items elicited from the previous literature and purifying them empirically through the surveying method, we developed a four-dimensional systemized scale to measure the superiority of experiential education and named it "Experiential Education PERFormance" (EEPERF). Our findings indicate that students (consumers) perceive the superiority of the experiential education (EE) service in the following four dimensions: EE-empathy, EE-reliability, EE-outcome, and EE-landscape. EE-empathy is a judgment in response to the question, "How empathetically does the experiential educational service provider interact with me?" Principal measures are "How well does the service provider understand my needs?," and "How well does the service provider listen to my voice?" Next, EE-reliability is a judgment in response to the question, "How reliably does the experiential educational service provider interact with me?" Major measures are "How reliable is the schedule here?," and "How credible is the service provider?" EE-outcome is a judgmentin response to the question, "What results could I get from this experiential educational service encounter?" Representative measures are "How good is the information that I will acquire form this service encounter?," and "How useful is this service encounter in helping me develop creativity?" Finally, EE-landscape is a judgment about the physical environment. Essential measures are "How convenient is the access to the service encounter?,"and "How well managed are the facilities?" We showed the reliability and validity of the system of metrics. All four dimensions influence customer satisfaction significantly. Practitioners may use the results in planning experiential educational service programs and evaluating each service encounter. The current study isexpected to act as a stepping-stone for future scale improvement. In this case, researchers may use the experience quality paradigm that has recently arisen.
In a situation where there is excessive competition among logistics centers due to the low price of logistics centers for attracting freight volume, the conditions provided by the logistics centers are similar. Therefore, in order to determine the logistics center, we want to find out what kind of differentiated service the shippers desire, as well as what level of service they want in addition to al ow price. There are currently no studies about the service quality of logistics centers. The components of the service quality of the logistics center were extracted by applying them to the logistics center based on the existing service quality theory. Factor analysis revealed five dimensions of service quality: tangibility, reliability, empathy, assurance, and know-how. It was found that service quality had a statistically significant influence on customer satisfaction, from the investigation of the causal effect relationship. In addition, 'Know-How' among these factors has more influence on customer satisfaction, so it is important to accumulate differentiated 'Know-How' only in logistics centers.
This research was conducted to increase the customer satisfaction through the evaluation of their satisfaction in employee-feeding foodservice operations according to the types of foodservice. The questionnaires were distributed to randomly selected customers of employee-feeding foodservice 120 each at two public organizations, two companies and two colleges. SPSS was used for descriptive analysis, Cronbach's Alpha value and Anova test. Six hundred seventy eight respondents in self-managed foodservices and 660 in contracted foodservices were participated for the survey. On average, the number of male respondents(67.9%) was more than twice than the number of female respondents(32.1%). As for the age group, twenties were the major with 48.5% at self-managed foodservices, 56.2% at contracted foodservices. With the marital state of the users, 57% at self-managed foodservices, 61.2% at contracted foodservices were single, showing higher proportion of non-married users at contracted foodservices. In all categories comprising the foodservice satisfaction, significant differences were shown in the quality of foods(p<0.001), tangibility(p<0.05) and empathy(p<0.05) according to the types of foodservice. Responsiveness(2.9$\pm$0.87) was ranked for the highest degree of satisfaction and reliance(2.32$\pm$0.76) was the lowest at self-managed foodservices. The result at contracted foodservices showed the same categorical order with responsiveness(2.9$\pm$0.87) ranked at the first and reliance(2.32$\pm$0.76) at the last.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of consultant 's competence on consulting satisfaction, consulting service quality, and understanding of client firm consulting. In summary, the results of this study suggest that the competency of a consultant influences the satisfaction of consulting and affects the satisfaction of consulting through service quality. Responsiveness, empathy, type, assurance and reliability have a significant impact on the hypothesis. Also, the higher the understanding of client firm consulting, the higher the satisfaction of consulting. In order to further improve the satisfaction of such consulting, it is necessary to enhance client firm consulting understanding. In order to improve the satisfaction of consulting, it is suggested that not only the consultant capacity but also the efforts to improve the consulting understanding of the customer can achieve the intended satisfaction. Further research is needed on how to improve understanding of how to improve consulting satisfaction in the future.
This study was aimed to identify the current status of medical service quality of medical institutes; propose improvements; and find out the impact of medical service quality by its attribute on overall customer satisfaction. The research was conducted on the out-patients and in-patients in a high-level general hospital located in A city. To examine the research, the IPA was utilized to identify the priority requirements for improving the medical service quality. The study also applied an extended theory to the analysis on mismatch between the level of satisfaction and importance recognized by the clients, to examine the impact of the above mentioned factors on the overall satisfaction and intention to revisit and recommend the hospital. For out-patients, the result showed that "hospital hygiene" had a positive and negative impact on the clients' intention to revisit the hospital in priority improvements. In terms of the sustainable improvements, "doctor's skill" had a negative impact on the overall service satisfaction, whereas "state-of-the-art facility" and "nurse's instruction" had a positive impact on the intention to revisit the hospital. In long-term improvements,"complaint remedy" had a positive impact on the intention to recommend the hospital but there were no relevant factors in excessive investment. On the other hand, for in-patients, the result demonstrated that there were no relevant factors in priority improvements and sustainable improvements. The factor of"service procedure speed"had a positive as well as negative impact on the intention to revisit the hospital. In excessive investment,"nurse's empathy"had a positive impact on the intention to recommend the hospital.
This study developed key elements of dental service guidelines for the disabled patients. In order to provide consumer-oriented service guidelines for the dental patients with disability, service design method was applied. Using service design method guided by the double diamond design process, this study implemented consumer survey, observation, and contextual interviews for consumers' needs assessment. And customer journey map, mind maps, and blueprints were utilized to visualize consumer needs and guidelines for dental care services for the disabled. According to the study, disabled consumers have needs for expertise of the medical staff, dental care institutions specialized on the disabled, financial support, establishment of the facilities for the disabled, comfortable atmosphere in the institutions, and communication with medical staffs. Based on the needs of the disabled, 5 key elements of the dental care services were developed: convenience, expertise, empathy, financial support, and education and management. And service design guidelines were proposed to implement key elements of dental care services for the patients with disability. This study is significant in that it is the first attempt to apply the service design technique from the consumer perspectives in the field of dental care for the disabled. Furthermore the process of this study has become a reference that can be utilized and applied to other medical institution.
