As the consumer's consumption standard has raised, occupants' needs for the apartment is diversified and complicated. But the existing mass housing supply method has many problems and it couldn't satisfy the dwellers' various needs and overall expected life span. In order to correspond those needs, construction firms have introduced several method, such as plus option, minus option, on-time option, change up service and so on. The custom-built apartment is more supplementary and it can reflect the consumer's needs to the apartment directly. But after running the custom-built apartment, several problems is revealed. So. in this study, I defined the general idea of the custom-built apartment and then collect the case of the custom-built apartment.

Technical improvement and the growth of the Internet environment make the market segmental of the manufacturing industry. These social trends have had an effect on the housing market, and the housing market changed from the supplier-oriented to the consumer-oriented. In recent years the occupants' needs for the apartment is diversified and complicated. But the existing mass housing supply method has many problems. It couldn't satisfy the dwellers' various needs and couldn't reflect overall expected life span either. In order to realize the sustainable building & environment, the research for the open housing system is actively performed. Finally the custom-built apartment which imported the concept of the open housing is constructed. But after running the custom-built apartment, several problems are revealed. Therefore the purpose of this study is to analyze the problems and then suggest the improving methods for a custom-built apartment.

Putting a high value on individual preferences is a modern trend that more and more companies are considering for their product design and development and the apartment design is not an exception. Most apartments today are built using similar design with no room for customization. People in general want their tastes to be reflected in the design of their apartment. However, delivering what customers like to the construction company may not be an easy task in practice. For this reason, an intuitive and effective medium between the company and customers for effective communication is needed to ameliorate such a difficulty and in response to this necessity, we developed a test platform for the virtual model house which provides a user with the customization of the apartment using haptic interactions. In our virtual environment, a user can explore an apartment and change the interior based on their taste and feel through intuitive haptic interactions.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the change of spacial structure from rural space to urban space and to examine the characteristic of spacial restructure, focusing on the Hwamyeong-Dong of Buk-gu in Busan. Hwamyeong-Dong has changed from rural area to urban area because of spacial expansion owing to industrialization and urbanization. The unique natural environment, rural village, etc. were disappeared and instead the apartment complex, commercial building, and so on were built. For this reason, historic and concrete place were vanished and so the spacial homogenization and uniformization were formed centering around apartment complex. But the singularity of Hwamyeong-Dong exposes in the way that unique history, custom and memory, trace of Hwamyeong-Dong preserved through the support and effort of the residents and that the Daechen stream changed to ecological stream. In addition, Hwamyeong-Dong altered heterogeneous, multi-layered urban space from homogeneous rural space in terms of the apartment supply sectors and scale, the distribution and kind of commercial facility, residents's composition. This has brought about the subdivision, hierarchization of the space as well as the residence, education, culture. Especially, Hwamyeong3-Dong that built to large scale apartment complex are significantly different from Hwamyeong2-Dong. Hwamyeong2-Dong is marginalizing step by step. However, It is found that the residents in Hwamyeong2-Dong are making an effort for liveable place with ecological residential community and educational cultural community as the center.
