The analytical method of lead in plasma by ICP-MS was validated after securing environment within class 1,000 classification. We tested specificity and accuracy of within-run and between-run. According to measurement of the amount of suspended particulates in a clean room, 0.3~62 particles were detected in 0.3 µm size while 0.0~28.3 particles were observed in 0.5 µm size. Total suspended particulates met required environment with up to 90.3 particles. The MDL (Method detection limit) of the sample which has been fabricated using fetal bovine serum (FBS) blank was 1.77 ng/L, and LOQ (Limit of quantification) was 5.55 ng/L. The slope, intercept and correlation coefficient of the calibration curve were y=1.09×10−3x+4.88×10−2 and r=0.9999, which showed good correlation. The specificity, within-run and between-run accuracy satisfied the standard at more than 50 ng/L. The average lead concentration in plasma of the general people, current workers and retired workers was 55.4 ng/L, 440 ng/L, and 132 ng/L.

It is necessary to perform a dynamic analysis to numerically evaluate the effect of blasting on nearby facilities. The blast load time history, which cannot be directly measured, is most often determined from empirical equation. The load has to be adjusted to account for various factors influencing the load and the frequency, but there is not a clear guideline on how to adjust the load. In this study, a series of 2D dynamic numerical analyses that simulates a closely monitored test blasting is performed, from which the blast load that matches the measured vibrations are derived. In the analyses, it is assumed that the hole generated by the blasting is in the form of a circle, and the load was applied normally to the wall of the opening. Special attention was given in selecting the damping ratio for the ground, since it has important influence on the wave propagation and attenuation characteristics of the blast induce waves. The damping ratio was selected such that it matches favorably with the attenuation curve of the measurement. The analyses demonstrate that the empirical blast load widely used in practice highly overstimates the vibration since it does not account for the energy loss due to rock fragmentation. If the empirical load is used without proper adjustment, the numerical analysis may seriously overstimate the predicted vibration, and thus has to be reduced in the analysis.

A simple method to evaluate the hygroscopic characteristics of polymer of microelectronic plastic package is suggested. To evaluate the characteristics, specimens were prepared, and the internally absorbed moisture masses were measured as a function of the absorbing time and calculated numerically. The hygroscopic pressure ratio was calculated by heat transfer analysis supported by commercial FEM code because the hygroscopic diffusion equation has the same form as the heat transfer equation. The moisture masses were then summed by the self developed code. The nonconductive polymers had quite different characteristics for the different lots, even though they were the same products. The absorbed moisture mass variations were calculated for several different characteristics, and the optimal curve of the mass variation close to experimental data was selected, whose solubility and diffusivity were affected by the hygroscopic characteristics of the material. The method can be useful in the industrial fields to quickly characterize the polymer material of the semiconductor package because the fast correspondence is normally required in industry. The weight changes in the aluminum-nonconductive-polymer joint due to moisture absorption were measured. The deformed system was also measured using the Moire Interferometry system and compared with the results of finite element analysis.

Objective : Lumbar spinal instability occurs when normal biomechanics support in lumbar vertebrae interrupted. Despite the recent enthusiastic studies, the precise radiological assessment has not been fully established, yet. Therefore, we carefully studied our cases to analyze the radiologic findings in lumbar spinal instability. Patients and Methods : We have put together radiological analysis and assessment based on 38 patients who have been diagnosed and treated for lumbar spinal instabilities from June 1994 to December 1998, Patients who have been diagnosed and treated for trauma were excluded from study. Results : The outcomes are as follows : 1) Lumbar lordotic curve was statistically significant in unstable group by 23.7, compared to the control group ($17.0^{\circ}$). 2) According to the resting x-ray, sagittal plane angulation measured on unstable group was $21.1^{\circ}$, control group $18.0^{\circ}$. Therefore unstable group was noticeably higher(p<0.01). 3) According to the resting x-ray sagittal plane displacement, unstable group had 4.3mm, the comparison had 1.2mm. Therefore measurement from the unstable group were significantly higher(p<0.01). 4) According to stress view, sagittal plane translation was 4.1mm for the unstables and 2.7mm for the comparisons. Therefore unstables were noticeably higher(p<0.01). 5) According to stress view, sagittal plane rotation was $15.1^{\circ}$ at L3-4, $22.0^{\circ}$ at L4-5, $27.9^{\circ}$ at L5S1 for the unstable group and $11.3^{\circ}$, $18.1^{\circ}$, $21.0^{\circ}$ each for the comparison. 6) Facet angle for unstable group, left $29.3^{\circ}-61.5^{\circ}$, right $24.4^{\circ}-63.2^{\circ}$ and the mean for each are $43.1^{\circ}$, $47.2^{\circ}$. The difference between left and right facet angle was $3.5^{\circ}-20.7^{\circ}$ and the mean value $15.3^{\circ}$. Facet angle for the comparisons for the left was $29.3^{\circ}-59.5^{\circ}$, right was in between $25.7^{\circ}-64.5^{\circ}$ range and the each mean are $44.9^{\circ}$ and $47.6^{\circ}$. Also, the difference between left and right facet angle was $4.1^{\circ}-9.3^{\circ}$ and the average was $17.1^{\circ}$. The average and the difference between the left and right angle are found not to have statistic necessity for both unstable and stable measurements(p>0.01). 7) 19 patients were found to have vacuum facet phenomenon among unstable group etc. results were collected. Conclusion : According to above results, we attempted to prepare the application to the patient of radiological analysis and assessment for lumbar spinal instability early checkup.
To determine the critical level for optimum maturity of flue-cured tobacco leaves (KF118) at the stalk position from cutter to tips, the reflectance index using ground-based remote sensors and chlorophyll meter were investigated. The sensors estimated were Crop $Circle^{TM}$ (Holland Scientific), Green $Seeker^{TM}$ (Ntech Industries), Spectroradiometer (LICOR, LI-1800), Chlorophyll meter (SPAD502, Minolta), and Field $Scout^{TM}$ Chlorophyll meter (CM-1000, Spectrum). The L, a, b values and greenness for flue-cured leaf were measured and estimated for correlation with sensor's measurement of harvested leaf. On a reflectance curve of 340nm~1100 nm, the reflectance peaks on 550nm and 675 nm for the harvested leaf were lowered as change from light green to darker green. Darker green leaf harvested produced darker flue-cured leaf. The reflectance at 675 nm for flue-cured leaf decreased as greenness increased in the harvested leaf. This result means that the red edge band of 675 nm wavelength is related to the absorbance of chlorophyll for photosynthesis. The greenness of flue-cured leaf showed significantly positive correlation with the entire reflectance indexes for harvested leaf while the L value by colorimeter showed negative correlation with greenness of cured leaf. The critical level for optimum maturity of harvested leaf were less than 22, 135, and 0.43 for SPAD reading, CM-1000 reading, and gNDVI by Crop $Circle^{TM}$, respectively. Consequently, ground-based remote sensing providing a non-destructive real-time assessment of plant greenness could be a useful tool in the selection of optimum maturity of flue-cured tobacco leaves in relation to high quality of flue-cured tobacco.
A Rayleigh Lidar used for wind detection works by transmitting laser pulses to the atmosphere and receiving backscattering signals from molecules. Because of the weak backscattering signals, a lidar usually uses a high sensitivity photomultiplier as detector and photon counting technology for signal collection. The capturing of returned extremely weak backscattering signals requires the lidar to work on dark background with a long time accumulation to get high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Because of the strong solar background during the day, the SNR of lidar during daytime is much lower than that during nighttime, the altitude and accuracy of detection are also restricted greatly. Therefore this article describes an ultra-narrow bandwidth filter (UNBF) that has been developed on 354.7 nm wavelength of laser. The UNBF is used for suppressing the strong solar background that degrades the performance of Rayleigh wind lidar during daytime. The optical structure of UNBF consists of an interference filter (IF), a low resolution Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) and a high resolution FPI. The parameters of each optical component of the UNBF are presented in this article. The transmission curve of the aligned UNBF is measured with a tunable laser. Contrasting the result of with-UNBF and with-IF shows that the solar background received by a Licel transient recorder decreases by 50~100 times and that the SNR with-UNBF was improved by 3 times in the altitude range (35 km to 40 km) compared to with-IF at 10:26 to 10:38 on August 29, 2018. By the SNR comparison at four different times of one day, the ratio-values are larger than 1 over the altitude range (25~50 km) in general, the results illustrate that the SNR with-UNBF is better than that with-IF for Rayleigh Lidar during daytime and they demonstrate the effective improvements of solar background restriction of UNBF.
A polymer gel dosimeter was fabricated. A 3-dimensional dosimetry experiment was performed in the small field of the photon of the cyberknife. The dosimeter was installed in a head and neck phantom. It was manufactured from the acrylic and it was used in dosimetry. By using the head and neck CT protocol of the CyberKnife system, CT images of the head and neck phantom were obtained and delivered to the treatment planning system. The irradiation to the dosimeter in the treatment planning was performed, and then, the image was obtained by using 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) after 24 hours. The dose distribution of the phantom was analyzed by using MATLAB. The results of this measurement were compared to the results of calculation in the treatment planning. In the isodose curve on the axial direction, the dose distribution coincided with the high dose area, 0.76mm difference on 80%, rather than the low dose area, 1.29 mm difference on 40%. In this research, the fact that the polymer gel dosimeter and MRI can be applied for analyzing a small field in a 3 dimensional dosimetry was confirmed. Moreover, the feasibility of using these for the therapeutic radiation quality control was also confirmed.
Predictions of consolidation settlement and time must be always erroneous because of heterogeneity of soil media. errors associated with the measurement of soil parameters, drawback of consolidation theories and so on. When filling is done on compressible soils, the observational procedure is a useful means in practice of evaluating the final consolidation settlement and time. However, the existing observational procedures including some disadvantages such as the difficulty of ending the linearity in the settlement curves, the unavoidable personal error, and so on. A new observational procedure($\sqrt{s}$ method) is suggested here for the consolidation analysis in field. As the results of applying the $\sqrt{s}$ method with other methods to two field data. the fecal settlements predicted by the s method as well as by the Asaoka'$\sqrt{s}$ method agreed well with the measured values. However, results obtained from the hyperbolic method(Tan, 1991) were always overestimated. and there happened many cases not to be predicted by the Hoshino's method. In the settlement curve from the $\sqrt{s}$method, the linearity between 60 and 90 eye of the average degree of consolidation is shown. and then the possibility of a personal error seems to be unusual. The final consolidation times(at $U_{95}$) predicted by the $\sqrt{s}$ method agreed well with the measured ones. but the ones by Asaoka and Tan(1996) methods were very much underestimated or overestimated. where $U_{95}$, is the average degree of consolidation of 95%. The big errors of these two methods seem to result from unconsidering the effect of stage construction.

Recently, a new $Y_2O_3$ coating deposited using the EB-PVD method has been developed for erosion resistant applications in fluorocarbon plasma environments. In this study, surface crack formation in the $Y_2O_3$ coating has been analyzed in terms of residual stress and elastic modulus. The coating, deposited on silicon substrate at temperatures higher than $600^{\circ}C$, showed itself to be sound, without surface cracks. When the residual stress of the coating was measured using the Stoney formula, it was found to be considerably lower than the value calculated using the elastic modulus and thermal expansion coefficient of bulk $Y_2O_3$. In addition, amorphous $SiO_2$ and crystalline $Al_2O_3$ coatings were similarly prepared and their residual stresses were compared to the calculated values. From nano-indentation measurement, the elastic modulus of the $Y_2O_3$ coating in the direction parallel to the coating surface was found to be lower than that in the normal direction. The lower modulus in the parallel direction was confirmed independently using the load-deflection curves of a micro-cantilever made of $Y_2O_3$ coating and from the average residual stress-temperature curve of the coated sample. The elastic modulus in these experiments was around 33 ~ 35 GPa, which is much lower than that of a sintered bulk sample. Thus, this low elastic modulus, which may come from the columnar feather-like structure of the coating, contributed to decreasing the average residual tensile stress. Finally, in terms of toughness and thermal cycling stability, the implications of the lowered elastic modulus are discussed.

This study presents a design method for typical rainfall-induced landslide considering in-situ matric suction. Actual landslide data are used to validate the proposed method. The soil-water characteristic curve (SWCC) and unsaturated permeability are experimentally determined to estimate hydraulic properties of testing site. The field measurement of matric suction is carried out to monitor in-situ matric suction in a natural slope subjected to rainfall infiltration, which is incorporated in the landslide analysis. The wetting band depth and safety factor of the slope are assessed to clarify the effect of domestic rainfall pattern. Especially, the effect of antecedent rainfall on the slope stability is investigated and discussed in terms of wetting band depth using parametric study. It is found from the result of this study that proposed design method can consider the characteristic of unsaturated soil and effect of antecedent rainfall. The location of the scarp zone is fairly well predicted by proposed design method. Moreover, heavy rainfall, concentrated in the backward part with time, causes the lowest safety factor of the slope. These results demonstrate that decrease in matric suction due to antecedent rainfall may trigger slope instability. After the antecedent rainfall, additional rainfall may cause the slope failure due to increasing wetting band depth.
