In this paper the advanced method of geodesic active contours was developed for the task of building detection from aerial and satellite images. Automatic extraction of man-made structures including buildings, building blocks or roads from remote sensing data is useful for land use mapping, scene understanding, robotic navigation, image retrieval, surveillance, emergency management procedures, cadastral etc. A level set method based on a region-driven segmentation model was implemented with which building boundaries were detected, through this curve propagation technique. The essence of this approach is to optimize the position and the geometric form of the curve by measuring information along that curve, and within the regions that compose the image partition. To this end, one can consider uniform intensities inside objects and the background. Thus, given an initial position of the curve, one can determine global, region-driven functions and provide a statistical description of the inside and outside object area. The calculus of variations and a gradient descent method was used to optimize the variational functional by an iterative steady state process. Experimental results demonstrate the potential of the proposed processing scheme.
In this paper, we propose a geometric active contour model based on intensity information and curve evolution for detecting region boundaries. We put boundary extraction problem as the minimization of the difference between the average intensity of the region and the intensity of the expanding closed curves. We used level set theory to implement the curve evolution for optimal solution. It offered much more freedom in the initial curve position than a general active contour model. Our methods could detect regions whose boundaries are not necessarily defiened by gradient compared to general edge based methods and detect multiple boundaries at the same time. We could improve the result by using anisotropic diffusion filter in image preprocessing. The performance of our model was demonstrated on several data sets like CT and MRI medical images.
The purpose of this Study was to investigate the prevalence rate of idiopathic scoliosis to the students from the elementary to the university in S city of Chung-Nam using 100 mm Mirror Camera radiation indirect examination units, with on age range of between eight and thirteen (1.526 subjects), fourteen and sixteen (462 subjects), seventeen and eighteen (291 subjects), nineteen and twenty four(508 subjects) and total of 2,787 participants with the 590 male subjects and 2,197 female subjects. The results of this study can be summarized and compared the primary examination with the secondary test of greater than $10^{\circ}$of Cobb's Angle were obtained as follows; 1. Indirect Examination were conducted to find idiopathic scoliosis amomg total 2.787 subjects, 257 subjects (9.2%) who showed positive sign greater than $10^{\circ}$in the Cobb's Angle ; below age of thirteen (132 subjects), between fourteen and sixteen (52 subjects), seventeen and eighteen (35 subjects), nineteen and twenty four (38 subjects). The $x^2-test$ analysis of Indirect Examination showed no statistical significant difference association between the age range and $10^{\circ}$Cobb's Angle of spinal curve(P>0.059). 2. The numbers of idiopathic scoliosis of greater than $10^{\circ}$Cobb's Angle of spinal curve in the primary examination were observed in 147 subjects (57.2%) at the Thoracolumbar region, 81subjects (31.5%) at the Thoracic region, 20 subjects (7.8%) at the Cervicothoracic region, 7 subjects (2.7%) at the Lumbar region, 2 subjects (0.8%) at the Cervical region. So, the large numbers were Thoracolumbar region, 183 participants (71.2%) showed the right side curve of scoliosis and 74 participant (28.8%) showed the left side curve of scoliosis. 3. The main region of the pain in one's own self more than $10^{\circ}$ Cobb's angle of spinal curve were no pain 219 subjects (85.2%), 18 subjects (7.0%) at the Lumbar region, 9 subjects (3.5%) at the Cervical region, 7 subjects (2.7%) at the Thoracic region, 2 subjects (0.7%) at the shoulder girdle region, 1 subjects (0.39%) at the pelvis and whole body region. There was statistical significant difference association between the Cobb's Angle of spinal curve and the main pain region of one's (P<0.006). This study may be significant to an early stage investigate of the prevalence rate of idiopathic scoliosis in the juveniles using 100 mm Mirror Camera radiation indirect examination units. The results of this study help that the students in a stage on growth the basis of data early discovery and therapy of idiopathic scoliosis.

Pencil-curve machining, which is a single-pass ball-end milling along a concave edge on adie surface, is widely employed in die-surface machining. The cutter-path used for pencil-curve machining, which is the trajectory of the “ball-center point” of a ball-endmill sliding along a concave-edge region on the die surface, is called pencil-curve. Presented in the paper is a pencil-curve tracing algorithm in which “concave-type” sharp edges are computed from a “virtually digitized” model of the tool-envelope surface. The resulting “initial” pencil-cures are then refuted by applying a series of fairing operations. illustrative examples and methods for enhancing accuracy are also presented. The proposed pencil-curve tracing algorithm has been successfully implemented in a commercial CAM system specialized in die-machining and in the CAD/CAM system CATIA.
This paper suggests a new criterion for testing the general linear hypothesis about coefficients in multivariate growth curve model. It is developed from a Bayesian point of view using the highest posterior density region methodology. Likelihood ratio test criterion(LRTC) by Khatri(1966) results as an approximate special case. It is shown that under the simple case of vague prior distribution for the multivariate normal parameters a LRTC-like criterion results; but the degrees of freedom are lower, so the suggested test criterion yields more conservative test than is warranted by the classical LRTC, a result analogous to that of Berger and Sellke(1987). Moreover, more general(non-vague) prior distributions will generate a richer class of tests than were previously available.
The statistical analysis method was applied to the evaluation of fracture toughness in the ductile-brittle transition temperature region. Because cleavage fracture in steel is of a statistical nature, fracture toughness data or values show a similar statistical trend. Using the three-parameter Weibull distribution, a fracture toughness vs. temperature curve (K-curve) was directly generated from a set of fracture toughness data at a selected temperature. Charpy V-notch impact energy was also used to obtain the K-curve by a $K_{IC}$ -CVN (Charpy V-notch energy) correlation. Furthermore, this method was applied to evaluate the neutron irradiation embrittlement of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steel. Most of the fracture toughness data were within the 95% confidence limits. The prediction of a transition temperature shift by statistical analysis was compared with that from the experimental data.

A new method in robot path generation is presented using an analysis of the characteristics of multi-robot collision avoidance. The research is based on the concept of the collision map, where the collision between two robots is presented by a collision region and a crossing curve TLVSTC (traveled length versus servo time curve). Analytic collision avoidance is considered by translating the collision region in the collision map. The 4 different translations of collision regions correspond to the 4 parallel movements of the actual original robot path in the real world. This analysis is applied to path modifications where the analysis of collision characteristics is crucial and the resultant path for collision avoidance is generated. Also, the correlations between the translations of the collision region and robot paths are clarified by analyzing the collision/non-collision areas. The influence of the changes of robot velocity is investigated analytically in view of collision avoidance as an example.

In this paper, we consider a single-channel amplitude comparison monopulse system(SCACMS). The monopulse ratio curve(MR-C) of the SCACMS can be controlled by an amplitude difference between sum and different signal, a phase difference and the coefficient of the signal processor. We first propose the SCACMS with multiple variables, and then apply a genetic algorithm to optimize the multiple variables in terms of minimizing a root mean square error. The simulation results show that when three variables of the SCACMS are jointly optimized, the linear region of the MR-C can be extended approximately 187 % compared to that of two variables.

In this Paper, we proposed a new voltage stability analysis algorithm. Using $ $ calculated by the optimal load How method(OLF), it rapidly and correctly calculates a PV curve with voltage collapse point in the stable region. OLF can calculates voltage collapse point as well as the operating point in the stable region. Specially, $ $ indicates the relative distance between voltage collapse point and the solution in the unstable region. In the study of a sample system, we verified the superiority of proposed algorithm.
When the controller designed by the $H{\infty}$ control technique is applied to the object system, sometimes the controller does not satisfy the robust stability and robust performance but only satisfy the nominal performance. In this paper, we derive the region on the frequency response curve of the open-loop transfer function which satisfy the robustness and robust performance of the designed controller. We also derive the region for the suitableness of the weighting function on the frequency response curve of the weighting function. We showed that the robust stability and the robust performance of the $H{\infty}$ optimal control)or by applying the designed controller on an electromechanical actuator system could be improved by determining parameter ${\gamma}$ and weighting function gain ${\alpha}$ using the derived region.
