The minimum power supply voltage of a typical bandgap current reference (BGCR) is limited by operating temperature and input common mode range (ICMR) of a feedback amplifier. A new BGCR using a bandgap voltage generator (BGVG) is proposed to minimize the effect of temperature, supply voltage, and process variation. The BGVG is designed with proportional to absolute temperature (PTAT) characteristic, and a feedback amplifier is designed with weak-inversion transistors for low voltage operation. It is verified with a $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS process with five corners for MOS transistors and three corners for BJTs. The proposed circuit is superior to other reported current references under temperature variation from $-40^{\circ}C$ to $120^{\circ}C$ and power supply variation from 1.2 V to 1.8 V. The total power consumption is $126{\mu}W$ under the conditions that the power supply voltage is 1.2 V, the output current is $10{\mu}A$, and the operating temperature is $20^{\circ}C$.

This study focused on developing an electro-discharge truing method for the ELID grinding process using a metal-bonded grinding wheel. The truing process in grinding plays important roles in enhancing the quality of the ground surface. In this study, a reference current in the electro-discharge truing process was confirmed to be a viable solution for efficient truing through performance experiments. Current and voltage variation experiments were carried out and the variation output data were collected with a monitoring program to understand the electrodischarge phenomenon that occurs between metal-bonded grinding wheels and copper electrodes. The experimental results showed that as the reference current decreased, the average electro-discharge energy decreased. Therefore, the reference current can be used as an indicator to estimate the size of the gap between the truer and grinding wheel.
In present, most of metallic structures(gas pipeline, oil pipeline, water pipeline, etc) are running parallel with subway and power line in seoul. Moreover subway system and power line make a stray current due to electrical corrosion on metallic structures. The owner of metallic structures has a burden of responsibility for the protection of corrosion and the prevention against big accident such as gas explosion or soil pollution and so on. So, they have to measure and analyze the data about P/S(Pipe to Soil) potential due to stray current of subway system. So, we have developed the Real-time Wireless Remote Monitoring System for Stray Current of Subway System. In this system, the permanent buried type reference electrode is necessary. In this paper, results of development about the permanent buried type reference electrode($Cu/CuSO_4$) are presented.
This paper proposes a compensation method for the $2^{nd}$-order harmonic of single-phase grid-connected wind power generation systems. Theoretically, a single-phase grid-connected inverter system has no choice but to cause the $2^{nd}$-order harmonic to DC-link voltage. The reference active current is affected by the DC-link voltage. The output current from the reference active current is distorted by the $1^{st}$ and $3^{rd}$-order harmonic. The proposed method can compensate, conveniently, the reference active current with the $2^{nd}$-order harmonic. To reduce the $2^{nd}$-order ripple in the reference active current, proposed method takes a PR controller as a feed-forward compensator. PR controllers can implement selective harmonic compensation without excessive computational requirements; the use of these controllers simplifies the method. Both the simulation and experimental results agree well with the theoretical analysis.

In this paper, a new fully digital current control method of UPS inverter, which is based on an internal model control, is proposed. In the proposed control system, overshoots and oscillations due to the computation time-delay are compensated by explicit incorporation of the time-delay in the current control loop transfer function. The internal model controller is adopted to a second order deadbeat reference-to-output response which means that its response reaches the reference in two sampling time including computational time-delays. That is, the average current of filter capacitor is been exactly equal to the reference current with a time lag of two sampling intervals. Therefore, this method has an essentially overshoot free reference-to-output response with a minimum possible rise time. The effectiveness of the proposed control system has been verified by the simulation and experimental respectively. From the simulation and experimental results, the proposed system is achieved the robust characteristics to the calculation time delay and parameter variation as well as very fast dynamic performance, thus it can be effectively applied to the power supply for the critical load.
Many countries such as The Republic of Korea have established their own nutritional standards, collectively termed Nutrient Reference Values (NRVs), and they vary due to the science which was reviewed, the purposes for which they are developed, and issues related to nutrition and food policy in the country. The current effort by the Codex Alimentarius Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CNFSDU) to update the NRVs that were established following the Helsinki Consultation in 1988 represents an opportunity to develop a set of reference values reflecting current scientific information to be used or adapted by many countries. This paper will focus on possible approaches to selecting or developing reference values which would serve the intended purpose for nutrition labeling to the greatest extent possible. Within the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) is currently reviewing regulations on nutrition labeling to better address current health issues, and is expected to enter into a process in the next few months to begin to explore how best to update nutrient Daily Values (DVs), most of which are still based on the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) of the Food and Nutrition Board, U.S. National Academy of Sciences, last reviewed and revised in 1968. In this presentation, I review the current purposes in the U.S. for nutrition labeling as identified in the 1938 Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act as amended, the scientific basis for current nutrition labeling regulations in the United States, and the recommendations made by the recent Committee on Use of Dietary Reference Intakes in Nutrition Labeling of the Institute of Medicine (2003) regarding how to use the DRIs in developing new DVs to be used on the label in the United States and Canada. Based on these reviews, I then provide examples of the issues that arise in comparing one approach to another. Much of the discussion focuses on the appropriate role of nutrient labeling within the Nutrition Facts panel, one of the three major public nutrition education tools in the United States (along with MyPyramid and Dietary Guidelines for Americans).

We present an average method based on the multirate signal processing and dynamic allocation average for the purpose of monitoring event-related potentials(ERP) and continuously and dynamically. In the proposed method, first, latency shifts are detected through the cross correlation between a current response and the reference response. Then, the multirate signal processing which is composed of up-sampler, lowpass filter, and down sampler is performed to compensate the latency shifts of the reference response, therefore we obtain the reference response with a peak latencies compenated by those of a current response. Finally, the single response is obtained by averaging the compensated reference response and a current response. In the simulation, the results of quantitative evaluation by simulation and the results using linical data are presented. From the result, the proposed method reflects dynamic time-varying ERP more exactly than previous methods and is also effective in consecutive monitoring of ERP.
This paper presents a novel reference variable speed control scheme of a BLDC motor for the high-speed blender machine according to the current limit. Because of a pulsating load variation of a high-speed blender machine, the actual speed is pulsated by the current limit in the high-speed region. The proposed control scheme uses a variable reference speed to reduce the speed variation from the current limit in the constant power region. The pulsated load is occurred at the material crushing, then the pulsated load is reduced after grinding. The reference speed is smoothly reduced at the pulsated load variation, then the enough torque can make a constant speed during crushing. When the pulsating load is reduced, the reference speed is automatically increased to the original speed value. The proposed control scheme is verified by experimental result by practical blender machine.

This paper presents a PLL(Phase Lock Loop) control method for speed control of high speed miniature BLDCM(Brushless DC Motor) using hall sensor. The Proposed PLL based speed control method uses a only phase shift between reference pulse signal according to speed reference and actual pulse signal from hall sensor. It doesn't use any speed calculation, and calculates a direct current reference from phase shift. The current reference is changed to reduce the phase shift between reference and actual pulse. So the actual speed can keep the reference speed. The proposed control scheme is very simple but effective speed control is possible.

As the number of Web reference resources are gradually increasing, reference librarians have to create a Web-based reference resources site. This site includes links to the Web reference resources of good quality, so that reference librarians and users will become accustomed to using these resources. This Study first explores the function of the Web-based reference resources site. Next, it carries out a survey of the current trends in america and Korea. Finally, a model Web-based reference resources site for academic libraries is developed.
