  • According to previously published paper the phase advance angle is adopted to the BLDC motor drive with high speed. The report proposed describes the optimum algorism that phase current is in phase with the initial flat region of back EMF. This report studies the need of more leading phase advance angle compared with in phase concept between phase current and back EMF. In case of high reactance this report proposes the more phase advance angle than in phase. The test results more rms value of phase current and output power due to more phase advance angle than in phase. It will be helped the high power operation of BLDC motor at high speed.

  • The single phase angle control system may become noisy when speed Is modulated with a conventional TRIAC AC controller. But this system is widely used despise of occurring sub-harmonic current because of its simply structure and low cost. Most of the vacuum cleaner drive control system regulates TRIAC's phase angle, so that it is controlled the speed. In the case of marketing product, it is not considered linearity of the speed to minimize occurring harmonic current. The sub-harmonic current reduces effectively in regulating specification TRIAC trigger phase angle. In this paper, we examined about characteristics of phase angle controller and parameter of parallel coil for eliminating sub-harmonic current.

  • In this paper, advance angle control is described to drive an industrial low voltage SRM(Switched reluctance motor) for a forklift truck by changing velocity and torque. The high current SRM is designed and its phase resistance and phase inductance are very low to inject high current into the phase windings. In this reason, the current has to be built up in the increasing phase inductance part as soon as possible. Therefore, the phase switch must be turned on before the phase inductance increases, and this angle is called as the advance angle. We analyze the changes of the advance angle as its torque and velocity are changed in the real SRM driving experiment. And we propose the way to improve the SRM performance by using the advance angle control.

  • In this paper, we confirm that the instanteneous phase current of the bifilar-wound hybrid stepping motor is dependent of lead angle by the experimental results. The variation of phase current with lead angle gives informations about the rotor position at the moment when phase winding coil is excited. We show that the rotor position of the bifilar-wound hybrid stepping motor for the closed-loop drives can be detected by using the instantaneous phase current measurement. We propose an instantaneous phase current equation as the function of electrical lead angle by the modeling of the bifilar-wound hybrid stepping motor. We also analyze the relationship between instantaneous phase current and rotor position by the computer simulation results. By the experimental results, we also confirm that the information about the rotor position can be obtained from the instantaneous phase current values at the instance of $\pi/2$ electrical angle of excitation pulse. pulse.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of single-phase line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor driven by constant voltage are analyzed on d-q axis vector diagram and compared with that of current controlled motor. The coupled method of symmetrical coordinates and d-q axis voltage equation are applied to the analysis method like the analysis of single-phase induction motor. From the result of the analysis, it is seen that motors driven by constant voltage source have effects on not only the amplitude of current and torque but also current and current phase angle, so overall characteristics such as power factor and load angle are affected by circuit parameters. For precise analysis and design of single-phase line-start synchronous motor, its characteristics should be analyzed on d-q axis vector plan in consideration of the variation of circuit parameters.

  • This paper explores the variation of DC-Link current ripple analysis in terms of duty cycle and phase angle of Multi-phase/Multi-stage boost converter. A 2-Stage/1-Stage boost converter DC-Link current is used to determine the difference between the 1st stage diode current and the 2nd stage inductor current. Each stage boost converter diode and inductor current is subordinate to the phase angle and duty cycle. The magnitude of the ripple current is variable according to phase angle and duty cycle. The analysis results are verified by variation of DC-Link current ripple using a 1kW typical 2-stage/1-stage boost converter.

  • Variable iron loss as function of current phase angle of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) was calculated through Curve Fitting Method(CFM). Also, a magnetic flux density distribution of iron core according to current phase angle was analyzed, and an iron loss calculation was performed including harmonic distortion. The experiment was performed by production of non-magnetizing model for the separation of mechanical loss, and the iron loss was calculated by the measurement of input using power analyzer and output power using dynamometer. Some error was generated between experimental results and calculation value, but an iron loss diminution according to current phase angle followed a same pattern. So, errors were generated by measurement, vibration, noise, harmonic distortion loss, etc.

  • Classically, reluctance torque of IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) by using inductance according to current phase angle generates an error. This error is affected by total torque. From current phase angle $0^{\circ}$ to large errors will occur, because reluctance torque include current phase angle. But, reluctance torque from steady-state voltage equation of IPMSM is represented by linkage flux. So, reluctance torque is unrelated to the current phase angle formula can be derived. In this paper, operating torque was analyzed by d, q-axis linkage flux of IPMSM and reluctance torque to perform calculations reduced the error of the total torque calculation.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy advance angle control method is described to drive an industrial low voltage SRM (Switched Reluctance Motor) for 10kW forklift truck. SRM has a highly non-linear characteristic that is due to change the rotor and stator. And low voltage SRM is designed that its phase resistance and phase inductance is very low to inject high current into the phase windings. In this reason, the proper current control is necessary to drive the low voltage SRM efficiently. SRM has positive torque at increasing inductance region and negative torque at decreasing inductance region. Due to this reason, the current has to be built up in the increasing phase inductance part as soon as possible. Therefore, the phase switch must be turned on before the phase inductance increases, and this angle is called as the advance angle. Also, the phase current has to be dropped before the phase inductance decreases. Fuzzy logic is a flexible and general-purposed method of implementing non-linear functions and as such it is useful in control applications. Consequently, we designed a fuzzy advance angle controller to control the phase current appropriately.

  • The torque of SRM depends on phase current and the derivative of inductance. But the inductance of SRM is nonlinearly changed according to rotor position angle and phase current because of saturation in magnetic circuit. Therefore this has a concern in torque ripple and speed variation, and it is difficult to control the desired torque The torque of SRM depends on phase current and the derivative of inductance. But the inductance of SRM is nonlinearly changed according to rotor position angle and phase current because of saturation in magnetic circuit, and it is difficult to control the desired torque. This paper proposes an optimization control scheme by adjusting both the turn-on and turn-off angle according to high efficiency points which are simulated by GA-Neural Network, which is used to simulate the reasonable switching angle which is nonlinearly varied with rotor speed and load.
