  • The aim of this study is to improve the curriculum of the physical education by recognizing the necessity of new physical education to meet the needs of the sports industry. As a preliminary study for this, the subjects of physical education at American universities and those at regular domestic universities have been investigated. Then, the current state of operation of the physical education system of the credit bank system has been investigated. The first is the definition of the credit banking system, the investigation of accreditation of credits and the institutions of education and training. The Second is the investigation of the educational goals and qualifications of each major in the standard education curriculum and the current status of accredited credits. The third is the type and operation of institutions by degree in physical education, and the survey on current majors in progress. The fourth is the survey on the current status of operating institutions by region. The fifth is the classification of detailed subjects by major and the survey on the status of subjects by major. The last is the detailed subjects by major, and the analysis of the consistent or similar subjects in domestic and international sports industry subjects. Through the findings of this investigation, the following directions for improvement of the credit bank system curriculum have been suggested. Firstly, it is necessary to newly establish major courses tailored to social change. Secondly, it is necessary to develop mandatory and optional courses that meet the needs of the times. Thirdly, it is necessary to increase courses centered on field training that can meet the needs of the sports industry. • With the current global financial crisis, Korea's economic situation involves a great deal of uncertainty. As the construction industry in Korea has traditionally been one of the country's strongest engines of economic development, it is crucial to understand its current status when establishing government policy or corporate goals. Utilizing a variety of statistical data related to construction that has been published in Korea, this study analyzes the current status and performance of the industry in terms of technological development. Although it was found that the construction industry in Korea is currently unstable due to the influence of the global financial crisis, it is now expected to recover quickly thanks to the increase in the number of construction contracts in foreign countries. In addition, when the performance of national research and development is realized, it is expected that new construction technologies will contribute to the recovery of the Korean construction industry. Despite the benefits of construction contracts in foreign countries, there are harmful practices in the industry that need to be addressed, including the excessively fierce competition among domestic construction companies.

  • Objectives: Young adulthood represents a critical developmental period during which the use of tobacco may begin or cease. Furthermore, differences in smoking behaviors between younger (aged 18-24 years) and older (aged 25-34 years) young adults may exist. This study aimed to characterize patterns related to current smoking in younger and older young adults. Methods: This study used data acquired from the Sixth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted from 2013 to 2014. A total of 2069 subjects were categorized as younger (712 subjects) and older (1357 subjects) young adults. The chi-square test was used to assess the relationships between smoking status and socio-demographic, health-related, and smoking-related factors. Multivariable logistic regression models were constructed to assess the factors affecting current smoking in these age groups. Results: The current smoking prevalence was 18.3% among the younger young adults and 26.0% among the older young adults. Sex, education level, occupation, perceived health status, alcohol consumption, and electronic cigarette use were related to current smoking in both age groups. Secondhand smoke exposure at home and stress levels showed significant relationships with smoking in younger and older young adults, respectively. Conclusions: Strong correlations were found between the observed variables and smoking behaviors among young adults. Determining the factors affecting smoking and designing interventions based on these factors are essential for smoking cessation in young adults.

  • As domestic construction investment has been gradually reduced, expanding overseas construction is one of the most important issues for Korean construction companies. Among these issues, strategies for overseas CM services have widely been discussed, because the CM services have features of high growth potential and value-added area when compared with other construction sectors. Therefore, recent efforts focus on further development in advanced CM capabilities and expansion to overseas market. However, there has been lack of quantitative research to investigate current status and future direction of CM industry. In this sense, this research investigated what CM has achieved for the past 17years (between 1997 and 2013) and what CM should accomplish for future strategies. The purpose of this research is to statistically analyze total of 2,983 CM service contracts over the past 17 years published in KISCON (Knowledge Information System of Construction Industry) in order to examine current status of CM industry in terms of market type, contract size, commodity type, and owner's type. Based on this research, it is expected to suggest for future strategies and development directions from the CM industry perspective that could provide quantitative analyses, improve current CM statistics systems and strengthen the competitiveness in international CM market.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the prevalence of current smoking and the factors that influence current smoking among male high school students in Korea according to school type. Methods: Data were extracted from the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey (2017) and multiple logistic regression was used based on complex sample analysis. The study sample comprised of 15,777 male high school students: 12,583 from general high schools (GHS) and 3,194 from specialized vocational high schools (SVHS). Results: The prevalence of current smoking was significantly higher in SVHS students (19.6%) compared to GHS students (12.6%). Low academic achievement, depressive symptoms, current drinking, and high household economic status were commonly associated with current smoking in male students from both school types. However, exposure to secondhand smoking at home, non-exposure to anti-smoking advertisement, exposure to tobacco advertisement, participation in smoking prevention or cessation education were related to current smoking in GHS students, while living in rural area was associated with current smoking in SVHS students. Conclusion: To reduce current smoking among male high school students, it is necessary to develop smoking prevention policies reflecting the factors associated with current smoking that are different by school type.

  • The purpose of this study supports the establishment of national e-learning policy by analyzing e-learning status and current status of higher education. Enhance the competitiveness of higher education through sharing information between universities. And to improve e-learning quality management. We surveyed the current status of e-learning in 341 universities and questionnaires about e-learning content, e-learning application form, e-learning platform status was surveyed through each school's learning management system. As a result, the infrastructure of e-learning, the rate of platforms secured, and the contents are increasing gradually each year; however, still, not all students can receive the services equally. Dedicated servers and learning management systems were secured by more than 70% of general universities. In the current development status of e-learning content, multimedia, animation, and text forms are gradually decreasing, but video contents are increasing every year. Most of the online contents were used in the e-learning contents by application type, and blended learning, flipped learning, and mooc is not yet actively used since they are still in the beginning stage. Learning analysis techniques should be supported in order to easily use online learning contents such as flipped learning and mooc. We suggest that the effectiveness of e-learning should be measured and the current state of learning analysis for customized learning should be done. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of competitiveness of higher education by sharing information about e-learning among universities as a basis for improvement of e-learning policy. Future tasks are to improve the customized learning environment by adding whether the system environment for learning analysis is provided at the time of the survey.
