  • The availability of endoscope has been increased not only for observing inner parts of body but also for operating. Nowdays, the market of the endoscope has been widely extended and we presume that the value of marketablity will reach to wide. Most of the endoscope equipment is very expensive and as well, it costs a lot to repair or change the specific parts of equipment when it´s out of order on account of carelessness. About 90 percent of the endoscope equipment in the world is made in Japan. Therefore, to buy or repair the equipment, we can´t help outflowing foreign currency.   • This paper is intended as a basic study in which the purpose is to provide understanding of the workings of man in relation to his information resources. Such understanding would prove of value in formulating the policies of an inoformation center serving the fields of science and technology. The information problem of the scientific community was assessed in the lights of the characteristics of the information (cumulativeness, currency versus obsolescence, volume versus redundancy, interrelationships, and foreign literature)and the flow of information and communication patterns covering the use of the variety of media and the information gathering habits of scientists. What can be done to ease the problem was sought in the improvements and innovations which call the attentions of the scientists and the technologists as producers and users of the information, of the professional organizations of various disciplines and of government.

  • This study was fulfilled in the purpose of proposing construction strategies of fashion information industry through the analysis of information user's satisfaction/dissatisfaction on information quality. The research was performed through a depth interview. Data were collected from 18 fashion information users(designers and merchandisers) who were working at fashion apparel industry during October to November 2007. Results from the study showed that there were three dimensions and 18 components of satisfaction/dissatisfaction on fashion information quality: Information quality(understandability, value-added, level of detail, relevance, diversity, objectivity, completeness, accuracy, quantitativeness), Service quality(responsiveness, accessibility, cost efficiency, empathy, reliability), System quality(currency, ease of use, format, timeliness). And the information users were perceiving that there were some changes in notion of preferring information, searching for information and usage of information.

E-Banking Performance in Uganda: A Case Study of Bank of Uganda

  • Online or e-banking has been adopted as key banking innovation in Uganda adopted by all financial institutions in the country. This research explored the state of e-banking and its efficacy in Uganda banking industry. A correlation analysis approach was adopted for this research. In Uganda, the banking sector has been liberalized with telecommunications allowed to effect e-banking and ecommerce transactions. The study concentrated on the periods of years 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. Findings from this research revealed that BOU uses UNISS for real time gross settlement (RTGS). Since its adoption a +1 coefficient correlation was realized. With the use of mobile money, also a +1 coefficient correlation was achieved for the period under consideration. As regards the use of e-cheques, there was a drop reflected by -2.8 percent which could have been attributed to perception of the users, though there was a +1 coefficient correlation when considering e-cheque transactions and the monetary value. The use of EFT in Uganda generated a +1 coefficient correction considering the number of users and the monetary value involved. Bank of Uganda should work hard and make or go live with electronic banking supervision software which would aid them with their supervisory roles.

Overview of Fisheries Resources in Namibia

  • Off the 1,572 km long coastline of Namibia lies known as the Benguela upwelling system, a very rich source of marine life supporting traditional and modern forms of fishery. Commercial fishing and fish processing is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the Namibian economy in terms of employment, export earnings, and contribution to GDP. The fishing industry has grown to the extent that it is currently Namibia's second biggest export earner of foreign currency after mining (90% of national output is marketed for export). In 2005, Namibia harvested about 552,164 tonnes of fish. The final value of processed products (export value) that year was around US$ 376.0 million. Besides the marine captured fisheries, Namibia also has a small but vibrant aquaculture sector. Inland captured fisheries exist in the north-east and north-west of Namibia where as commercial freshwater aquaculture of tilapia and catfish is also undertaken. The inland fisheries are mainly subsistence based and typically labour intensive, with low catch per unit effort. However the subsistence fisheries from these regions play a significant role in the lives of rural community. The domestic market for marine fish products is extremely limited due to the small size of the population (2 million). The fishing industry is a source of considerable employment for many Namibians. Huge potential to increase production exists in Namibia, unpolluted high quality marine waters, high natural primary productivity of the seawater, availability of inexpensive fish by-products from established fish processing sector for inclusion in wet aqua-feeds and well-established processing, packaging and marketing systems due to the marine capture fisheries that can be adopted for aquaculture purpose.

여수산업단지의 생태효율성지표 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Eco-Efficiency Indicators for Yeosu Industrial Park)

  • 본 논문은 생태효율성 지표 작성을 통하여 여수산업단지(여수산단) 지표를 개발하였다. 여수산단 매출의 경우 원화의 가치와 원부원료의 수출입 원가 변동 폭이 큰 관계로 제품의 가치(기능)에서 제외하고 대신 총 생산액, 에틸렌 생산량, 경질유 생산량으로 제품의 기능 부문을 구성하고, 환경부하로서는 현재 공식적으로 입수 가능한 자료인 전력 소모량, 용수 사용량 및 폐수 배출량을 사용하였다. 2004년을 기준으로 할 때 2006년의 환경경제효율 지수를 계산한 결과 0.954로 지수가 나빠졌으나, 여수산단의 생태산업단지사업이 성공할 경우 2015년에는 지수가 1.153으로 약 15% 정도 개선될 것으로 예측되었다.

가사노동 가치에 대한 주부의 의식조사연구 -서울시내 거주 주부를 대상으로- (A Study on homemaker's Consciousness about the Value of household Production)

  • This study aims to get basic data for an objective searching examination into the value of household production through grasping the relation between homemaker's consciousness or attitude on it and the socio-economic related variables in today, the economic period of currency exchange. the approach of this study depends on the consultation of concerned references and social survey by questionnaire to explore the homemaker's consciousness. Homemakers with children over six years old were selected as object and stratified, considering each age of them and variety of socio-economic status. 450 homemakers among 600 selected with collecting the data. But only 353 samples are helpful for this analysis. They were calculated by frequency, percentage and the mean value for general characteristics of the families, and the noteworthy degree applied the Chi-square(x2) was measured to investigate the correlation between the related variables and each of items. The data was treated by the SPSS program of Computer Center, Korea Science Institute. The conclusions of this study are as follows; 1) The majority of homemakers have had affirmative consciousness on the household production as well as strong sense of responsibility in doing their duties. But the higher educational background or the standard of living are, the more want they to have a job also have a tendency to have leave the household production to others. 2)The reason that housemaker does not have a job is for being faithful to home life. But the higher educational background she have, the more weight is given to the management such as to husband or to children card, than to household affairs. 3) Homemaker's educational background and experiences in job affect on her spirit of inquiry for rationalization of the household production and social compensation mentality, by having more strong needs of learning for the household production or of socially proper compensation for casualty. 4) Homemakers mostly have affirmative consciousness on division of household affairs, that they think in need to feel the family as one body among themselves and to cultivate co-operative mind.

일본 냉동새우 선물시장의 효율성과 정보흐름에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Efficiency and Information for Future Market of Japan's Frozen Shrimp)

  • The purpose of this study is to ascertain that how the futures market of the Japanese frozen shrimp that is the only fisheries asset all over the world can be efficient. Accordingly, this paper examines efficiency and information flow of the Japanese frozen shrimp market using data from Kansai Commodities Exchange frozen shrimp futures closing prices and spot prices. And then this paper estimates a forward price model using that data. From the model, risk premium is estimated and we could also analyse the future information flow into the futures market which reveals future spot prices. This thesis reached to conclusions as follows: First, the null of zero risk premium is rejected and the value of that is negative. Second, the time pattern of information flow into the futures market is that most of the information on future price arrives within a week and for the last week, most of relevant information is already incorporated. The result of this study contrasts with that of Stockman(1978) about currency futures market of U.S.

웹 아카이브 OASIS에 관한 고찰 (Research on the OASIS, a Web Archive in Korea)

  • 이 연구에서는 국립중앙도서관이 구축 운영하는 웹 아카이브인 OASIS의 특성과 문제점을 살펴보았다. OASIS 웹 사이트를 통해 제공되는 웹 자원 콘텐츠의 현황을 검토하고, 향후 필요한 개선 방안을 제 안하였다. 이 연구를 위해 2009년 5월 20일부터 7월 2일 사이 OASIS 웹 사이트에서 '문학'과 '사회과학'분야의 콘텐츠 및 이용 가능한 서비스를 검토한 결과, 수집된 콘텐츠의 주제 분포의 편중, 저작자/발행자 편향성과 권위의 근거 미약, 정보의 유일성과 최신성 결여, 웹 문서와 웹 사이트의 중복 수집, 학술적가치의 근거 결여 등 문제점이 발견되었다. 주제전문가의 활용과 실명제, 메타데이터 요소 추가 및 기본적 목표의식의 지속적 확인 등이 필요함을 제안하였다.

관광호텔 해외 마케팅 활동 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improving the Overseas Marketing Activities of Tourist Hotels -Focused on American Market of "L" Hotel-)

  • It is expected that marketing environment of the hotel industry will change much this year. Hotels should make strategic marketing activities to cope with the rapid change of the environment positively. With the case study of marketing activities for American market of "L" Hotel, a deluxe hotel in Seoul, this study is to present the ways of improving marketing activities of a tourist hotel. U.S.A market has been emerging as the most important market in deluxe hotels with strong value of U.S. dollar currency. To get more Ameriean staying guests. hotels had better make effortis in American market as follow. First, hotels should select corporate market as main target market in U.S.A market. Second, hotels should make preferred corporate rate contracts with corporate travel departments of corporate accounts as their house agents Third, hotels should recognize Global Distribution System as major eservation network in U.S.A Fourth, hotels should advertise effectively in G.D.S in order that agents may reserve the hotel with its visual information. Fifth, hotels had better make the most use of three branch offices of K.N.T.O and sale offices of their affiliated reservation system to get useful information on corporates and travel agents.el agents.
