Unani system of medicine provides comprehension about the state of human body while in health and during turn down of health. Unani system strives to find the best methods to leads a healthy life with minimal or zero risk of any sickness additionally, the treatment is not only done through unani formulations but also by the regimenal therapies (Tadabeer) like Cupping (Hijamah), Leeching (Taleeq), Venesection (Fasd), Massage (Dalak), Exercise (Riyazat) etc. Massage (Dalak) is widely practiced regimens, which are used for restrorative, preventive as well as for therapeutic purposes. Almost all the civilizations having evidences about the use of massage in their manuscripts to improve impure blood or impurities from the body. Massage (Dalak) found to be effective in treatment of neurological and musculoskeletal disorders. Ibn Rushd stated that Massage (Dalak) is a type of exercise used for the removal of toxins or waste metabolites from the body. According to the disease, Massage (dalak) should be done in different parts of body and with different types of oils (roganiyat) and single drugs (mufrid advia).

Arabica coffee is classified for trading according to the New York Board of Trade(NYBOT) green coffee classification. NYBOT's grading system is based on classification derived from a defect count on a 300 g sample. In the present study, green and roasted coffees were investigated for possible correlations between the content of defective beans and sensory characteristics. Sensory evaluation was performed by expert tasters used by the Specialty Coffee Association of America(SCAA) cupping method. For green coffee, the percentage of defective beans increased. as the coffee grade decreased. Black and sour beans were not found in the NY2 grade coffee out of all natural, pulped natural, and washed coffee samples. Sour and insect damage were found in more natural coffee samples as the green coffee grade decreased. Green and broken beans were found in more washed coffee samples as the green coffee grade decreased. Flavor, clean, uniformity, aftertaste, and overall sensory characteristics were significantly different among the NY2, NY3/4 and NY4/5 grade coffee in all natural, pulped natural and washed coffee samples. The natural coffee in the NY2 sample presented the highest body characteristic. The pulped natural coffee in the NY2 sample presented the highest sweetness and balance characteristics. The washed coffee in the NY2 sample presented the highest acidity and flavor characteristics. In conclusion, the percentage of defective beans increased as sensory characteristics decreased.

In this study, a 54-year-old female woman diagnosed as Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) presented diplopia with other symptoms - gait disturbance, ataxia, sleep apnea, dysuria. She had been cared with Korean medical treatment - Herbal medicine, acupuncture, bee venom acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping, moxa. Notable improvement was observed in diplopia expressing time and Unified Multiple System Atrophy Rating Scale (UMSARS). For MSA patient with no typical treatment indispensable, Korean medical treatment may be effective.

고령화 사회의 노인성 질환 치료기술에 대한 수요가 증가되고 있는 가운데 최근 한의약이 새롭게 주목을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 환자 스스로 의해 기본적인 치료가 이루어질 수 있는 휴대용 한방 멀티 전동 부항 시스템을 제안했다. 본 시스템은 여러 개의 부항컵을 동시에 시술할 수 있고, 타이머와 공압을 자유롭게 조절하여 환부의 장시간 공압 유지로 인한 가려움증 및 근육응결을 해소할 수 있다.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to report that effect of Korean medicine treatment for patient with peripheral facial nerve palsy accompanied by hemifacial spasm through hospitalization. Methods : We treated a patient with facial nerve palsy by acupuncture, electroacupuncture, herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture and cupping. The effect of treatment was evaluated using the House-Brackmann scale, the Yanagihara grading system, and the visual analogue scale(VAS). Results : During the 18 days hospitalization period, the symptoms of hemifacial spasm disappeared and the facial palsy improved. The House-Brackmann scale changed from 4 grade to 2 grade, the Yanagihara grading system changed from 19 to 47, and the VAS changed from 3 to 0. Conclusions : This case report suggests that Korean medicine could be effective for facial palsy accompanied by hemifacial spasms.

Objective: This study reports on traditional Korean medicine therapy used for pneumonia among elderly patients.Method: Two patients diagnosed with pneumonia were treated with herbal medicine and acupuncture, as well as cupping along the back. We checked chest X-rays, coughing and sputum on the visual analogue scale (VAS), and lab evaluations in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment.Results: Following treatment with traditional Korean medicine therapy, VAS scores for coughing and sputum decreased and the chest X-rays and inflammation markers improved.Conclusion: Traditional Korean medicine therapy treatment appears to be effective for treating pneumonia in elderly patients.

Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a sporadic progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized clinically by various combinations of parkinsonian, autonomic, cerebellar, or pyramidal signs and pathologically by cell loss, gliosis, and ${\alpha}$-synuclein-positive glial cytoplasmic inclusions in several brain and spinal cord structures. This is a clinical report about a 69-year-old female who had MSA treated by oriental medical treatment and evaluated by Unified Multiple System Atrophy Rating Scale (UMSARS). The patient was treated with herb medicine Chungsimyeonj-aeumgami(淸心蓮子飮加味), acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping. After treatment, the patient's symptoms improved meaningfully and the score decreased in UMSARS Part I, II. This suggests that oriental medical treatment could be effective to improve MSA patients' symptoms. It is necessary to have more observations and many cases of patients with MSA.

The purpose of this case report is to describe the effectiveness of Korean medicine in the treatment of gait disturbance in advanced stage multiple system atrophy-cerebellar type (MSA-C). This inpatient was treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, pharmaco-acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and chuna therapy. The gait disturbance was assessed by Unified Multiple System Atrophy Rating Scale(UMSARS), Tinnetti test, and 16m walking spatial features. After treatment, UMSARS Part I score was enhanced, decreasing from 29 to 24, Part II score from 34 to 18. Tinetti test score increased from 7 to 20. Gait stride length increased and width decreased. This study suggests that Korean medical treatment could be an effective treatment for delaying the progress of gait disturbance in advanced-stage MSA-C patients.

Objective: This case study reports improvement in a case of Guillain-Barre Syndrome by Korean medicine treatment in a patient with quadriplegia and anorexia. Methods: A 79-year-old woman diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome was treated with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, Bojungikgi-tang-gami, cupping, moxibustion, and rehabilitation. Her clinical symptoms were measured with the Manual Muscle Test (MMT), Modified Barthel Index (MBI), Functional Independence Measurement (FIM), and the EuroQol five-dimensional descriptive system (EQ-5D-5L). Results: After treatment, improvements in the MMT, MBI, FIM, and EQ-5D-5L were observed and her anorexia decreased. Conclusion: Korean medicine treatment appeared to be effective in the treatment of a patient with Guillain-Barre Syndrome with quadriplegia and anorexia.

According to the North Korean documents , North Korean government have emphasized the development of the Koryo medicine (traditional korean medicine) and encouraged the combination of the Koryo and the modern medicine. It is regarded that this attitude arose from the ruler's will toward independency in the medical field and at the same time the lack of modern medical resources . Combinations of the Koryo medicine and the modern medicine in the clinical textbooks are classified as follows: first, mixed medication of the Koryo and the modern medicine. Second, combination of the traditional acupuncture(or moxibustion) and the medication of modern medicines. Third, injection of modern medicines at acupoints. Forth, an intramuscular or an intravenous injection of the Koryo medicine. Fifth, anesthesia using Koryo medicine. Sixth, simple surgery at the acupoints. Lastly, combination of injection and the traditional therapy(eg. acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping) Despite of many achievements in the field of combined medical treatment, recent economic failure and severe famine for several years caused collapse of the health care delivery system in North Korea, and it is hard to find combined practices actually.
