Findings of the study shows that leadership has positive impact on employee innovation and cultural diversity partially mediates the relationship between leadership and innovative performance of UAE universities' employees. Practical implication of the study is to understand how universities can enhance their employees' innovation which is crucial for their competitiveness and survival. Moreover, the increasing prevalence of cultural diversity, as work arrangements in universities, raises the question of how to successfully manage employees. Although few studies have looked into how transformational and transactional leadership styles affect employees' innovation performance, this study expands on the topic by concentrating on sub-dimensions of leadership that foster innovation through idea generation and execution at the United Arab Emirates universities. This study offers valuable insights for educational leaders and throws light on the main characteristics of leadership which helps the employees to perform better in terms of innovation.

  • With the deepening integration of technology and cultural industries, China's digital cultural industry has begun to rise. The digital culture industry has met new demands for cultural consumption and brought new experiences to consumers in the digital economy era. This paper uses the public data of 36 Chinese A-share listed companies in digital culture from 2018 to 2019 to construct a technical innovation efficiency evaluation index system for listed companies in China's digital cultural industry. Through the use of data envelopment analysis (DEA) method, the technical innovation efficiency of 36 listed companies in China's digital cultural industry was evaluated. The research results show that: (1) China's 36 listed companies have low technological innovation efficiency; (2) the allocation of R&D resources of listed companies is unreasonable; (3) there is a large difference in technological innovation efficiency among listed companies. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the efficiency of technology innovation of listed companies in China's digital culture industry by investing more R&D funds, distributing R&D resources, establishing effective dynamic incentive mechanism, promoting government-industrial-academic research.

The government of Gyeongbuk attempted to establish the cluster of cultural industries and to enhance the capability of cultural industries. However, infrastructure of the industries is still weak. The most cultural industries are small-sized enterprises and are in low value-added production link in the value chain. This research examines the situation of cultural industries and then to recommend the direction of cluster of cultural industries in Gyeongbuk. The cluster of cultural industries in Gyeongbuk needs to be decentralized integration. Cultural industries in Gyeongbuk are found in dispersed regions with own cultural and industrial characteristics. The hub of cluster of cultural industries should be formulated to promote network among cultural industrial complexes in dispersed regions; thus, the hub is able to provide knowledge and information for the cultural industrial firms in Gyeongbuk. The supporting center as the hub of cluster has to input more energy to establish the on-line and off-line network among firms, and between firms and innovation agencies such as universities, cultural industrial organizations, and local governments. The cultural industrial cluster should be linked with IT cluster in Gumi and cluster of Daegu cultural industries to upgrade the value chain of cultural industries.

  • Regional innovation cluster is closely related to promoting innovations through activities for knowledge sharing and exchanges among organizations in an adjacent regional context. However, performance of activities for knowledge sharing and exchanges are basically influenced by cultural characteristics of the industries or regions where the organization belongs to. Therefore, knowledge management strategies in a unit of a regional cluster need to consider the cultural characteristics of an industry or region and in turn different activities need to be adopted according to cultural characteristics. This study explores the relationship between cultural differences and the performance of the activities to promote knowledge exchanges in a regional innovation cluster. For this study, factors reflecting cultural characteristics of diverse industries and regions were extracted and the relationships with the performance of the activities promoting inter-organizational knowledge exchanges were analyzed through statistical method.
