Yanbian is the area where many Korean-Chinese have settled and have undergone a unique culture. This study is intended to examine the clothing life of Korean-Chinese in Yanbian in the aspects of the cultural marginality and the effects of other cultures. Nowadays they have three kinds of dresses" Han-Bok In-Min-Bok and the western dress. han-Bok is the result of cultural marginal phenomenon so they pre-serve 1920s style which already disappeared in South Korea. In-Min-Bok is the production of Communism which is an 'invention' from the viewpoint of Cultural-Anthropology. However both Han-Bok and In-Min-Bok are gradually disappearing from the daily life. Today it is quite common for us to see a number of people wearing western dresses on the street. In their clothing life the acculturation to the Chinese wasn't traced which may be due to the strong 'National I dentity' of them.

The origin and developing process of Highland Dress as a Scottish national dress has been discussed in this study. Parameters affecting transformation process of Highland Dress from regional to national dress over the modernization period during 19 C was analyzed and compared by sociological aspect. Anthony Giddenss social change was applied and divided into three main factors such as political , economic and cultural analysis. The basic requirement of the theory of social change is visual recognization of any cultural changes. Highland Dress as a Scottish national dress has established during modernization in Europe within short period(18C -early 20C) and the Highland tartan as a military dress was transformed to be a civilian dress during 19-20 C. It shows social changes affecting on costume pattern and eventually costume in particular time could be an indicator of social changed. Throughout the study of the functional role of costume in Scotland is able to clarify the understanding of acculturation phenomenon through cultural, political and economic changes.

We examined the associations between Latino cultural variables and four sexual behaviors among female adolescents of Mexican origin. Participants ages 14 to 19 (N = 153; 70% born in the U.S) completed surveys about four sexual behaviors (making out, receiving and performing oral sex, and vaginal sex) and cultural variables (nativity, language use, familism, and importance of female virginity). Findings indicated that participants who were born in the U.S. were less likely to have engaged in making out and vaginal sex than participants born in Mexico. Participants reporting stronger familism were less likely to have engaged in making out and oral sex than participants reporting less familism. For all behaviors, placing a greater value on female virginity was associated with lesser odds of engaging in that behavior. This study expands our understanding of the role of nativity and Latino values in the sexual behaviors of Mexican-origin female adolescents.

This paper explores the influence of Arab culture on the culture of Bugis-Makassar, the two major ethnic groups in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, particularly after their Islamization in the early 17^th century. The paper argues that since then, the on-going process of Islamization in the region has also brought a continuous flow of ideas and cultural practices from Mecca to Indonesia by means of the hajj pilgrims, Arab traders, and the establishment of Islamic educational institutions that emphasized the teaching and use of Arabic language in education. These factors, among others, have facilitated a cultural inflow which enabled cultural practices borne of West Asia (Middle East) to be integrated into local customs and beliefs. The paper particularly depicts the most observable forms of Arabic cultural integration, acculturation, and assimilation into the Bugis-Makassar culture such as the use of Arabic in Islamic schools and religious sermons; the Arab-style dressing by religious scholars, teachers, and students; the wearing of the hijab (head cover) by women; and the change of people's names from local into Arabic. By utilizing the historical and anthropological approach, this paper investigates this dynamic process of adaptation and integration of a foreign culture that first came through the Islamization of a local culture, exploring the role of an Islamic missionary and educational institutions in mediating and maintaining such cultural integration processes.

본 연구의 목적은 조선족 간병인의 문화적응 경험에 관한 연구이다. 연구 분석은 Berry(1987)의 문화적응 단계를 인용하여 접촉단계, 갈등단계, 해결 단계로 나누어 조선족 간병인들이 각 단계에서 어떤 경험을 하는지 그 의미를 질적연구 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 접촉단계에서 조선족 간병인은 간병인에 대한 긍정적인 이미지 전환과 연륜의 직업에 의미를 부여하였다. 간병인을 시작하기 전 연구 대상자들은 주변사람들의 영향으로 간병인에 대한 인식이 긍정적으로 변화됐으며, 연령이 많아짐에 따라 간병인이 적합한 일자리가 되었다. 갈등단계에서 조선족들은 차별, 문화적 갈등, 힘든 업무, 부정적 이미지, 타지에서 외로움을 경험하였다. 차별의 경우 조선족이라는 이유만으로 거부와 임금 차별이나 근로조건 등에서 한국인 간병인보다 더 열악한 수준에서 일하는 경우가 많고, 육체적, 정신적으로 힘든 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 게다가 주위 친지나 가족으로부터 간병인에 대한 부정적 이미지로 인해 내외적 갈등을 경험하기도 했으며, 중국에 거주하는 가족과 떨어져 있기 때문에 외로움을 경험하고 있었다. 이러한 어려움에도 불구하고 해결단계에서 간병인으로 종사하면서 얻는 직간접적인 사회경제적 정서적 혜택은 그들이 한국사회에 적응하는데 큰 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그 이유로는 이들이 경제적 요인, 일의 보람, 환자 및 보호자 그리고 동료들과의 친분, 일의 자유로움, 일의 안정성, 자부심에서 찾을 수 있었다.

본 연구는 베트남여성결혼이민자 가족의 문화적응과정에서 드러나는 문화차이에 대한 이해, 가족갈등의 유형과 변화과정 등에 대해 살펴보기 위하여, 여성결혼이민자, 남편, 시모 3명 모두가 인터뷰 가능한 가족 10사례에 대해 반구조화된 심층면접을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 상이한 의사소통방식, 가부장적 가족문화에 대한 이해 차이, 일상생활방식의 차이로 인해 갈등이 촉발되고 있었고 촉발된 갈등은 각자 자신의 입장에서 타인의 부족한 점에 대한 분노와 좌절이 반복되는 가운데 증폭되었지만, 가족의 소중함과 타인에 대한 존중과 배려를 기반으로 스스로에 대해 그리고 다른 가족구성원과의 관계에 대해 갈등을 관리하는 방법을 발굴 적용해 오고 있음을 알 수 있다.

This treatise studies on how ideology and value of Chinese minority race undergo change according to social, political transition that the Chinese minority race has experienced for a long time and I also have tried to elucidate how these kinds of their experiences have been effected upon their own life, even it is part of my basic subjects for my study. Hence I would give weigh to focus on contemplating process of the past and the present rather than predictive discussion of how their pursuing value will be transformed. For my ebullient study, I'm willing to make Yi-Zu's moral culture become axis of my treatise, and capitalize on not only how Han-Zu's ideological philosopies have been disseminated, but also how acculturation have been taken place in Yi-Zu's moral culture system. Yi-Zu has the longest history and the greatest their own population, even the largest residence of various Chinese minority races. And Yun-Nan is the historical place where not only various Chinese minority races have lived, but also acculturation between Chinese majority, Han-Zu and them have been begotten. Above all, I would delve into traditional religion to understand Yi-Zu's moral culture as was already mentioned that it is my axis of treatise. Furthermore, I deliberated on how Taoism have been infiltrated Yi-Zu's moral culture, also how Han-Zu's ideological philosophies have been permeated Yi-Zu's, and what is more how to help themselves still remained in Yi-Zu's. Through my such these efforts, I analyze the aspect of embracing of Han-Zu's moral culture by Yi-Zu's and some facts of vicissitudes about it.

본 연구는 다문화 청소년의 문화적응 스트레스가 정신건강에 미치는 영향에서 사회적 지지의 매개 효과 규명을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법은 다문화 청소년 패널 제4차(중1)~제6차(중3)의 1,573명을 AMOS 22.0으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화 청소년의 문화적응 스트레스는 정신건강에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화 청소년의 문화적응 스트레스는 사회적 지지에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다문화 청소년의 사회적 지지는 정신건강에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째 다문화 청소년의 사회적 지지는 문화적응 스트레스가 정신건강에 미치는 영향에서 매개영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 다문화 청소년이 이중문화에 적응하는 과정에서 겪는 스트레스로 인하여 사회적 지지에 부적인 영향을 미치고, 이런 사회적 지지는 다문화 청소년의 정신건강에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 밝혔다.

본 연구는 새터민이 남한사회에 정착하여 생활하는 과정 속에서 겪는 사회문화적 갈등을 새터민의 관점에서 파악하고, 또한 남한사람들이 새터민에 대하여 어떠한 인식을 가지고 있고 새터민과의 관계에서 어떠한 갈등을 경험하는지를 파악하여, 이에 대한 질적 분석을 토대로 남북한주민간의 갈등을 가능한 한 예방하기 위한 문화통합교육의 중심이 되는 주제들을 도출하였다. 이십 세 이상 새터민 성인 남녀 28여명에게 반 구조화된 면접을 시행한 자료와 새터민을 접촉하는 남한사람들인 신변보호담당관들과 새터민 지원단체 자원봉사 교사들에게 집단면접조사를 시행한 자료를 사용하여 질적 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 내용을 범주화하고 주제별 코딩을 실시하여 나온 주제들 중에서 새터민과 남한주민의 문화통합교육을 구성하는 데 핵심적인 내용을 이루는 주제들을 선별해내었다. 이 연구는 새터민이 남한사회에 들어와서 남한사회의 문화와 가치관을 일방적으로 수용함으로써 사회 속에서 겪게 되는 갈등을 해결하고 적응한다는 관점에서 새터민의 문화갈등 문제를 다루기보다는 새터민으로 대표되는 북한 문화와 남한의 주류문화 간의 상호작용이라는 관점에서 새터민의 '문화통합' 문제를 다루었다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing depression among married Vietnamese immigrant women living in Korea. Methods: This study was a retrospective review of the dataset from the Korean 2018 National Multicultural Family Survey. The data were analyzed using the Rao-Scott x² test and multiple logistic regression using complex samples analysis. Results: The proportion of married Vietnamese immigrant women subjects in Korea who experienced depression was 27.7%. The factors affecting depression were age, length of stay in Korea, living area, economic status, difficulties in using medical care, difficulties faced during their stay in Korea and Korean language skills relationship with spouse and parents-in-law marital conflicts, cultural differences, their experience of social discrimination, life satisfaction, and meeting with friends from their homeland. Conclusion: The findings in this study indicate that the prevention of depression in married immigrant women in Korea could be aided by acculturation programs that deal with the relationships with their spouses and social supports.
