The effect of minor element additions (Ca, Al) on microstructural change and magnetic properties of Fe-Nb-Cu-Si-B alloy has been investigated, in this paper. The Fe-Si-B-Nb-Cu(-Ca-Al) alloys were prepared by arc melting in argon gas atmosphere. The alloy ribbons were fabricated by melt-spinning, and heat-treated under a nitrogen atmosphere at $520-570^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. The soft magnetic properties of the ribbon core were analyzed using the AC B-H meter. A differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to examine the crystallization behavior of the amorphous alloy ribbon. The microstructure was observed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The addition of Ca increased the electrical resistivity to reduce the eddy current loss. And the addition of Al decreased the intrinsic magnetocrystalline anisotropy $K_1$ resulting in the increased permeability. The reduction in the size of the ${\alpha}$-Fe precipitates was observed in the alloys containing of Ca and Al. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the additions of Ca and Al notably improved the soft magnetic properties such as permeability, coercivity and core loss in the Fe-Nb-Cu-Si-B base nanocrystalline alloys.
To improve mechanical properties of Cu-Al-Ni alloy by the grain refinement, Cu-Al-Ni SMA ribbons were fabricated by melt spinning apparatus. The variations of microstructure, mechanical properties and transformation characteristics with the condition of rapid solidification and annealing time-temperature were investigated in Cu-Al-Ni SMA ribbons. The ribbons fabricated by melt spinning obtained around 1.5nm in width and 50-60${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in thickness. With increasing wheel speed in order of 10m/s, 15m/s, 20m/s, 30m/s and 3m/s, the grain size was decreased in order of 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 6.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 5.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. $M_{s}$ and $A_{s}$ temperature were decreased with decreasing grain size. By X-ray diffraction test, ordered $\beta$$_1$ phase was observed in all the SMA ribbons and the volume friction of it was increased with increasing wheel speed. With increasing wheel speed, strain was increased from 4.2% to 5.8% and fracture mode has changed from mixture of intergranular and dimple fracture to mixture of fiber structure and dimple fracture. The grain size of ribbon heat-treated at $600^{\circ}C$ was increased with increasing time. In the heat-treated ribbons at 55$0^{\circ}C$, ${\gamma}$$_2$ phases were observed.d.d.
Environmentally benign lead-free solder coated ribbon (e. g. SnCu, SnZn, SnBi${\cdots}$) has been intensively studied to interconnect cells without lead mixed ribbon (e. g. SnPb) in the crystalline silicon(c-Si) photovoltaic modules. However, high melting point (> $200^{\circ}C$) of non-lead based solder provokes increased thermo-mechanical stress during its soldering process, which causes early degradation of PV module with it. Hence, we proposed low-temperature conductive paste (CP) based tabbing method for lead-free ribbon. Modules, interconnected by the lead-free solder (SnCu) employing CP approach, exhibits similar output without increased resistivity losses at initial condition, in comparison with traditional high temperature soldering method. Moreover, 400 cycles (2,000 hour) of thermal cycle test reveals that the module integrated by CP approach withstands thermo-mechanical stress. Furthermore, this approach guarantees strong mechanical adhesion (peel strength of ~ 2 N) between cell and lead-free ribbons. Therefore, the CP based tabbing process for lead free ribbons enables to interconnect cells in c-Si PV module, without deteriorating its performance.

Usage of heavy metal element (Pb, Hg and Cd etc.) in electronic devices have been restricted due to the environmental banning of the European Union, such as WEEE and RoHS. Therefore, it is needed to develop the Pb-free solder plated ribbon in photovoltaic (PV) module. This study described that degradation characteristics of PV module under damp heat (DH, $85^{\circ}C$ and 85% R.H.) condition test for 1,000 h. Solar cell ribbons were utilized to hot dipping plate with Pb-free solder alloys. Two types of Pb-free solder plated ribbons, Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu (SAC305) and Sn-48Bi-2Ag, and an electroless Sn-40Pb solder hot dipping plated ribbon as a reference sample were prepared to evaluate degradation characteristics. To detect the degradation of PV module with the eutectic and Pb-free solder plated ribbons, I-V curve, electro-luminescence (EL) and cross-sectional SEM analysis were carried out. DH test results show that the reason of maximum power (Pm) drop was mainly due to the decrease fill factor (FF). It was attributed to the crack or oxidation of interface between the cell and the ribbon. Among PV modules with the eutectic and Pb-free solder plated ribbon, the PV module with SAC305 ribbon relatively showed higher stability after DH test than the case of PV module with Sn-40Pb and Sn-48Bi-2Ag solder plated ribbons.
Giant magnetoresistance(GMR) of $Cu_{85-x}Co_{15}Ni_{x}$ melt-spu ribbons is closely correlated with the microstructure produced by the spinodal decomposition. The solid solution range is extanded by the replacement of Cu by Ni in the as-quenched state. The wavelengths obtained by subsequent isothermal aging in Cu-Co-Ni ribbons are shorter than those in Cu-Co binary ribbons, resulting in the increase of the surface-to-volume ratio. The largest MR ratio of 8 % in high field has been achieved in the $Cu_{80}Co_{15}Ni_{5}$ aged ribbon. The field dependence of MR ratio in low fields becomes larger with the Ni content.
The Cu-Fe permanent magnet were prepared in situ process, which has economic and mass productive merits in producing multi filamentary composites. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of reduction ratio and heat treatment on magnetic property. As the reduction ratio of Cu-Fe wire increased, the filament structure became finer and interfilament distances decreased and the morphology of filament cross section became ribbon shape. As Fe content increased significantly. The coercivity and squareness of Cu-55 wt%Fe composite increased as a reduction ratio became higher, whereas they increased to maximum values at 0.09 mm ${\phi}$ for Cu-30 wt%Fe, and 0.066 mm ${\phi}$ for CU-45 wt%Fe respectively, and decreased for further reduction. The magnetic properties of Cu-Fe composites can be more enhanced by intermediate heat treatment. The best magnetic properties were obtained from Cu-55 wt%Fe composite deformed to 0.054 mm ${\phi}$ and annealed.
This study was undertaken to measure the electrochemical corrosion of amorphous $Zr_{65}Al_8Ni_{15}Cu_{12}$ (at.%) alloy ribbon under various conditions, including 0.4 mM HCl solution, and for various values of the pH and the immersion time. The corrosion potentials($E_{corr}$) for the amorphous $Zr_{65}Al_8Ni_{15}Cu_{12}$ alloy in 0.4 mM HCl decreased with increasing temperature; the corrosion current density($I_{corr}$) increased with increasing temperature in general. The polarization resistance($R_p$) was inversely proportional to the corrosion rate. While pH=7, 9, 11 was not as sensitive as pH=3, 5, pH=3 was more sensitive for amorphous $Zr_{65}Al_8Ni_{15}Cu_{12}$ alloy than other pHs specially. The change of mass in the 70 mM $H_2SO_4$ solution with immersion time was the greatest in the first 100 h.

Ribbon type nanocrystalline alloy cores have shown excellent soft magnetic properties in the high frequency range because of small crystalline anisotropy and nearly zero magnetostriction[1]. In present, however ribbon alloys gives some limit in applications such as a large inductor and reactors of PFC circuit, which are required good DC bias property and low loss in the high frequency. Powder alloys with ultra fine grain structure can be an important way to overcome this kind of disadvantage, and to improve the high frequency soft magnetic properties in conventional metallic powder cores[2]. With rapid increasing production and installation, recycling of photovoltaic modules has become the main issue. According to the research, the accumulation of waste modules will reach to 8600 tons in 2030. Moreover, Crystalline-silicon (c-Si) Photovoltaic modules account for more than 90% of the waste. C-Si PV modules contain 1.3% of weight of photovoltaic ribbon inside which contains the most of lead, tin and copper in the PV modules, which would cause environmental and humility problem. This study provided a valuable metal separation process for PV ribbons. Ribbons content 82.1% of Cu, 8.9% of Sn, 5.2% of Pb, and 3.1% of Ag. All of them were leached by 3M of hydrochloric acid in the optimal condition. Ag was halogenated to AgCl and precipitated. Cu ion was extracted and separated from Pb and Sn by Lix984N then stripped by 3M H2SO4. The effect of the optimal parameters of extraction was also studied in this essay. The maximum extraction efficiency of Cu ion was 99.64%. The separation condition of Pb and Sn were obtained by adjusting the pH value to 4 thought ammonia to precipitate and separate Pb and Sn. The recovery of Pb and Sn can reach 99%.
Melt spun YbBa2Cu3Agx(x=0, 5, 12, 16 and 53) precursor alloy ribbons were oxidized at 263-330$^{\circ}C$ and treated at 820$^{\circ}C$, 855$^{\circ}C$ and 885$^{\circ}C$ under 1.0 atm oxygen pressure. In the ribbons treated at 820$^{\circ}C$, 855$^{\circ}C$and 885$^{\circ}C$ 1-2-4 phase (YbBa2Cu4O8) and 1-2-3 phase (YbBa2Cu3O{{{{ OMICRON _7-$\delta$ }})were formed respectively. The shape of 1-2-4 phase was distorted or ellipsoid. The 2-4-7 and 1-2-3 phases tooked the shape of bar. All the ribbons showed zero critical current density Jc at 77K in zero magnetic field. By considering the shape and the highest critical temperature (among the three phases) of the 1-2-3 phase we tried to increase the critical current density of the ribbons treated at 885$^{\circ}C$ by press deformation. About tenribbons were stacked and coupled by press deformation and then treated at 885$^{\circ}C$ These 1-2-3 phase did not show any texture in any of the ribbons. However they exhibited weak texture in the multilayered specimens. Among the multilayered specimens YbBa2Cu3Ag16 exhibited a Jc of 180 A/cm2 Among the above ribbons YbBa2Cu3Ag16 ribbon has the optimum composition to produce textured superconducting oxide with improved Jc by press deformation. Onset critical temperatures Ton of the multilayered YbBa2Cu3Agx(x=5, 12, 16 and 53) were measured as 88-90 K.
