Single-crystal like $MgB_2$ thin film was grown on (000l) $Al_2O_3$ substrate by using hybrid physical-chemical vapor deposition (HPCVD) system. Single crystal properties were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the (0001) $MgB_2$ peak is $15^{\circ}$, which is very close to that has been reported for $MgB_2$ single-crystal. It indicates that the crystalline quality of thin film is good. Temperature dependence on resistivity was investigated by physical property measurement system (PPMS) in various applied fields from 0 to 9 T. The upper critical field ($H_{c2}$) and irreversibility field ($H_{irr}$) were determined from PPMS data, and the estimated values are comparable with that of $MgB_2$ single-crystals. The thin film shows a high critical temperature ($T_c$) of 40.4 K with a sharp superconducting transition width of 0.2 K, and a high residual resistivity ratio (RRR=21), it reflects that $MgB_2$ thin film has a pure phase structure.
A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, AgInS$_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the Hot Wall Epitaxy(HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were 680 $^{\circ}C$ and 410 $^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction(DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films measured from Hall effect by van der Pauw method are 9.35${\times}$10$\^$16/ cm$\^$-3/ and 294 $\textrm{cm}^2$/V$.$s at 293 K, respectively. From the optical absorption measurement, the temperature dependence of the energy band gap on AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films was found to be E$\_$g/(T) : 2.1365 eV - (9.89 ${\times}$ 10$\^$-3/ eV) T$^2$/(2930 + T). After the as-grown AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films was annealed in Ag-, S-, and In-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films has been investigated by using the photoluminescence(PL) at 10 K. The native defects of V$\_$AG/, V$\_$S/, Ag$\_$int/, and S$\_$int/ obtained from PL measurements were classified as a donors or acceptors type. And we concluded that the heat-treatment in the S-atmosphere converted AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films to an optical p-type. Also, we confirmed that In in AgInS$_2$/GaAs did not form the native defects because In in AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films did exist in the form of stable bonds.
$MgIn_2Se_4 and MgIn_2Se_4 : Ni^{2+}$ single crystals were grown in the rhombohedral structure by the chemical transport reaction (C.T.R.) method using iodine as a transport agent. The optical absorption measured near the fundamental band edge showed that the optical energy band structure of these compounds had a direct band gap. The fundamental absorption band edge of these single crystals shift to a shorter wavelength region by decreasing temperature and the temperature dependence of the optical energy gaps in these compounds satisfy Varshni equation. The impurity optical absorption peaks due to nickel are observed in $MgIn_2Se_4 and MgIn_2Se_4 : Ni^{2+}$ single crystal. These impurity optical absorption peaks can be attributed to the electronic transitions between the split energy levels of $Ni_{2+}$ ions located at $T_d$ symmetry site of $MgIn_2Se_4$ host lattice. In the hotoluminescence spectrum of the single crystal at 10 K, a blue emission with a peak at 687nm and a green emission with a peak at 815nm for the $MgIn_2Se_4$ single crystal were observed.
Morphology of porous cobalt electro-deposits was systematically investigated as functions of cobalt precursors in the plating bath and applied cathodic current density with a special focus on cobalt nano-rod formation. It was proved that the concentration of cobalt precursor plays little effect on the morphology of cobalt electro-deposits at relatively low plating current density while it significantly affects the morphology with increasing plating current density. Such a dependence was discussed in terms of the kinetics of two competitive reactions of cobalt reduction and hydrogen evolution. Cobalt nano-rod structure was created at specific ranges of cobalt precursor content and applied cathodic current density, and its diameter and length varied with plating time without notable formation of side branches which is usually found during dendrite formation. Specifically, the nano-rod length was preferentially increased in relative short plating time (<15 s), resulting in higher aspect ratio of nano-rod with plating time. Whereas, both the nano-rod length and diameter were increased nearly at the same level in a prolonged plating time, making the aspect ratio unchanged. From the analysis of crystal structure, it was confirmed that the cobalt nano-rod preferentially grew in the form of single crystal on a dense poly-crystalline cobalt thin film initially formed on the substrate.

We performed angle-resolved Raman spectroscopy experiments on lead-doped and undoped Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ(Bi2212) samples using a 660 nm laser and analyzed the Raman tensor of the phonon modes. The phonon mode was clearly observed at the 60, 103, and 630 cm-1 Raman shifts. The 60, 630 cm-1 peaks were only clearly observed when the incident and scattered light polarizations were configured to be parallel. The polarization angle dependence of the amplitude of the 60, 630 cm-1 peak on the parallel configuration shows a twofold symmetry; therefore, both peaks originate from Ag phonons and the crystal structure of Bi2212 should be considered orthorhombic. On the other hand, the 103 cm-1 peak is clearly observed in both parallel and perpendicular configurations. Remarkably, the off-diagonal component of the Raman tensor of the 103 cm-1 peak showed an anti-symmetry that could not be realized within the known crystal structure of Bi2212. The implications of our findings are discussed.
A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for $CuAlSe_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, $CuAlSe_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy (HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were $680^{\circ}C$ and $410^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of $CuAlSe_2$ single crystal thin films measured with Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $9.24{\times}10^{16}\;cm^{-3}$ and $295\;cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at 293 K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $CuAlSe_2$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)\;=\;2.8382\;eV\;-\;(8.68{\times}10^{-4}\;eV/K)T^2/(T+155K)$. The crystal field and the spin-orbit splitting energies for the valence band of the $CuAlSe_2$ have been estimated to be 0.2026 eV and 0.2165 eV at 10K, respectively, by means of the photocurrent spectra and the Hopfield quasicubic model. These results indicate that the splitting of the ${\Delta}so$ definitely exists in the ${\Gamma}_5$ states of the valence band of the $CuAlSe_2$. The three photocurrent peaks observed at 10K are ascribed to the $A_1-$, $B_1-$, and $C_1$-exciton peaks for n = 1.
Sing1e crystal $CuAlSe_2$ layers were grown on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate at $410^{\circ}C$ with hot wall epitaxy (HWE) system by evaporating $CuAlSe_2$source at $680^{\circ}C$. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence(PL) and double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). After the as-grown single crystal $CuAlSe_2$ thin films were annealed in Cu-, Se-, and Al-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of single crystal $CuAlSe_2$ thin films has been investigated by PL at 10 K. The native defects of $V_{Cd}$, $V_{Se}$, $Cd_{int}$, and $Se_{int}$ obtained by PL measurements were classified as donors or accepters. And we concluded that the heat-treatment in the Cu-atmosphere converted single crystal $CuAlSe_2$ thin films to an optical n-type. Also, we confirmed that Al in $CuAlSe_2/GaAs$ did not form the native defects because Al in single crystal $CuAlSe_2$ thin films existed in the form of stable bonds.

The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of $CuInSe_2$ single crystal thin films measured with Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $9.62{\times}10^{l6}\;cm^{-3}$ and $296\;cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at 293 K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $CuInSe_2$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)\;=\;1.1851\;eV\;-\;(8.99{\times}10^{-4}\;eV/K)T^2/(T+153K)$.
