  • Although a symmetric cryptographic system has many advantages in speed of encryption decryption, the security problems with the distribution method of secret keys have been still raised. Especially, the distribution method of secret keys for unspecified individuals who want secret communication is becoming a core issue. As a simple solution to this issue, Diffie-Hellman key exchange methods were proposed, but proved to be insufficient in depending MITM(Main In The Middle) attacks. To find effective solution to problems mentioned above, this paper proposes the strengthened Diffie-Hellman key exchange methods applied for the mobile-phone channel which are widely used. This paper emphasizes the way to distribute the synthesized session keys to the sender and the receiver, which are created with authentication numbers exchanged between the mobile-phones and Diffie-Hellman key. Using proposed ways, MITMattacks can be effectively defended.

  • An ID certificate is digitally signed by a certificate authority for authentication and an attribute certificate is digitally signed by an attribute certificate authority for authorization. In many applications in web, there should be a mechanism to bind attributes to proper identities. The dependencies between them should be maintained. So we analyzed some known binding methods, selective revocation methods and cryptographic binding methods. And we proposed a binding mechanism using one-time attribute certificates in order to solve their problems.

  • As companies use increasing amounts of data more and more, people are more concerned about protecting their privacy. Many researches studies have been conducted with a to securely view of manage managing and share sharing private information securely using the Bblockchain technology. These studies have suggested a Bblockchain-based approaches to provide efficiency, scalability, data ownership, and systematic data lifecycles that were are the limitations of lacking in traditional access controls. More Sspecifically, these studies have introduced a new access control models, distributed hash tables, trusted execution environments, and hierarchical ID-based cryptographic mechanisms to provide reliable access control even in complex environments such as IoT Internet of Things. In this paperstudy, we present the criteria to for classifying the functional characteristics of the Bblockchain-based access control methods and derive the differentiateion between of each the several methods.

  • Side-channel attacks including the differential power analysis attack are often more powerful than classical cryptanalysis and have to be seriously considered by cryptographic algorithm's implementers. Various countermeasures have been proposed against such attacks. In this paper, we deal with the masking method, which is known to be a very effective countermeasure against the differential power analysis attack and propose new gate-level conversion methods between Boolean and arithmetic masks. The new methods require only 6n-5 XOR and 2n-2 AND gates with 3n-2 gate delay for converting n-bit masks. The basic idea of the proposed methods is that the carry and the sum bits in the ripple adder are manipulated in a way that the adversary cannot detect the relation between these bits and the original raw data. Since the proposed methods use only bitwise operations, they are especially useful for DPA-securely implementing cryptographic algorithms in hardware which use both Boolean and arithmetic operations. For example, we applied them to securely implement the block encryption algorithm SEED in hardware and present its detailed implementation result.

  • Power analysis attacks are techniques to analyze power signals to find out the secrets when cryptographic algorithm is performed. One of the most famous countermeasure against power analysis attacks is masking methods. Masking types are largely classified into two types which are boolean masking and arithmetic masking. For the cryptographic algorithm to be used with boolean and arithmetic masking at the same time, the converting algorithm can switch between boolean and arithmetic masking. In this paper we propose an algorithm for switching from boolean to arithmetic masking using storage size at less cost than ones. The proposed algorithm is configured to convert using the look-up table without the least significant bit(LSB), because of equal the bit of boolean and arithmetic masking. This makes it possible to design a converting algorithm compared to the previous algorithm at a lower cost without sacrificing performance. In addition, by applying the technique at the LEA it showed up to 26 percent performance improvement over existing techniques.

  • Quantum cryptography, which is emerging as a next generation password, is being studied by quantum cryptographic transfer protocols and quantum secret communication. Quantum key transfer protocol can be used in combination with the modern password because of the inefficiency of the use of the password, or the use of OTP(one time password). In this paper an algorithm for direct communication by means of direct cryptographic communications rather than quantum keys. The method of implementing quantum secure direct community was adopted using 2-channel methods using Einstein gravity field. Two channels were designed to adopt a quantum secret communication protocol that applies time delay between 2-channels of channel to apply time difference between 2-channels. The proposed time delay effect reflects the time delay by reflecting the gravitational lensing phenomenon. Gravity generator with centrifugal acceleration is incorporated in the viscometer, and the time delay using this implies the correlation between the variance of the metametry.

  • One of the most widely-used open source project; OpenSSL is a cryptography library that is used to secure most web sites, servers and clients. One can secure the communication with the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or its successor, Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols by using the OpenSSL library. Since cryptography protocols will be updated and enhanced in order to keep the system protected, the library was written in such a way that simplifies the integration of new cryptographic methods, especially for the symmetric cryptography protocols. However, it gets a lot more complicated in adding an asymmetric cryptography protocol and no guide can be found for the integration of the asymmetric cryptography protocol. In this paper, we explained the architecture of the OpenSSL library and provide a simple tutorial to modify the OpenSSL library in order to accommodate custom protocols of both symmetric and asymmetric cryptography.

  • IoT (Internet of Things) emerges from various technologies such as communications, micro processors and embedded system and so on. The IoT has also been used to UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) system. In manned aircraft, a pilot and co-pilot should control FCS (Flight Control System) with FBW(Fly By Wire) system for flight operation. In contrast, the flight operation in UAV system is remotely and fully managed by GCS (Ground Control System) almost in real time. To make it possible the communication channel should be necessary between the UAV and the GCS. There are many protocols between two systems. Amongst them, MAVLink (Macro Air Vehicle Link) protocol is representatively used due to its open architecture. MAVLink does not define any securities itself, which results in high vulnerability from external attacks. This paper proposes the method to enhance data security in GCS network by applying cryptographic methods to the MAVLink messages in order to support safe UAV operations.

  • This paper propose a security method that performs mutual authentication between the SIP UA and the server, check for integrity of the signaling channel and protection of SDP information for VoIP using a One-Time Password. To solve the vulnerability of existing HTTP Digest authentication scheme in SIP, Various SIP Authentication schemes have been proposed. But, these schemes can't meet security requirements of SIP or require expensive cryptographic operations. Proposed method uses OTP that only uses hash function and is updated each authentication. So Proposed method do not require expensive cryptographic operations but performs user authentication efficiently and safely than existing methods. In addition, Proposed method verifies the integrity of the SIP messages and performs SDP encryption/decryption through OTP that used for user authentication. So Proposed method can reduce communication overhead when applying S/MIME or TLS.
