  • Brushless Dual-Mechanical-Port Electrical Machine (BLDMPEM) is a new type of motor designed for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), which contains two mechanical ports and two electric ports. Compared with Dual-Mechanical-Port Electrical Machine (DMPEM), the brushless structure brings higher reliability and easier maintenance. In this paper, the model of BLDMPEM is discussed. In Chapter 2, the energy flow and mathematical model of BLDMPEM are analyzed. Then a novel three-phase half-bridge controlled rectifier topology and its control strategy for cruising mode of HEV based on BLDMPEM are proposed in Chapter 3. Compared with the Field Oriented Control (FOC) strategy of BLDMPEM, the proposed method does not require accurate motor parameters, and it is much simpler and easier to be implemented. At last, simulation and experiment results show the feasibility and validity of the proposed strategy.

  • This paper presents algorithm including Kalman filter for transfer alignment of velocity and quaternion matching method, when master inertial navigation system is a gimbled type and slave inertial navigation system is a strapdown type on a cruising ship which is naturally in motion of horizontal axis attitude. And relative attitudes are considered on a measurement equation for quaternion matching between master INS and slave INS.

  • The present case study has a object to investigate the changes in locomotion patterns of infant with athetoid cerebral palsy would be occured by the program when it is applied with upper extremity weight bearing. The subject has been limited to one infant over one year of age, selected from the patients in the physical therapy clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Taegu University. Subject is normal in the visual and auditory sense, but he is unable to walk on his own Subject weighted 2.9kg at birth and underwent severe postnatal kernicterus, always on the baby-walker at homo. He disliked supine position characteristic in moving in athetoid type before he was under the program. The program was applied 7 months. Each session of the program is composed of 7 stages : (1) prebriefing between the therapist and the parents (2) pretherapy amusement time of the infant (3) warming-up (4) upper extremity weight bearing (5) cooling-down (6) post-therapy amusement time (7) postbriefing. The locomotion of the subject is proved to be influenced by the program. He showed a leftward circular movement as a result of the exercise, reducing the involuntary movement of his head when he was positioned for crawling. Later he proceeded to develop into creeping, crawling, kneeling and finally cruising. In conclusion, it appeared evident that the locomotive abilities of the subject is improved by the program explored in this study. The higher locomotive patterns could be achieved such as crawling, sitting, kneeling and cruising wich enable the upper extremities weight bearing.

  • This dissertation is about a study on the space planning of take-out coffee shops grouped by type. The classification is based primarily on stand-alone shop, which runs independently, and shop in shop, located inside of another shop with different industry. And its subdivision is characterize by 3 types: Combination type has not only space to enjoy coffee as we can usually see in conventional coffee shops, but also a counter where take-out coffee is served. Separation type has space for drinking coffee and an external booth for easy buy. Booth type is a booth itself or driving (cruising) booth. In conclusion, some take-out coffee shop are exampled and space analysis is made with analytic tools, such as people of preference, location evaluation, functional space division, dimension per person, and planning of traffic line.

  • This paper describes the experimental method of a pod-type waterjet propulsion system in a towing tank and shows the experimental analysis and test results of a designed waterjet propulsion system to be used for a hybrid high speed craft. The cruising performance of this craft is estimated from the results of the hull resistance test and waterjet test under the assumption that the interaction between the hull and the inlet pod is very small. A pod-type waterjet system with an axial pump was designed and a stand-alone waterjet experimental system was developed. Useful data such as the pump performance, the jet efficiency, the losses of inlet duct and nozzle were obtained. Test results show a good agreement with the design requirement.

  • In this paper, we present noise measurement results of 8 vehicles. The measurement was done by a close proximity method attaching surface microphones on the test vehicle. For the 9 road surface types constructed at Korean highway test road, the vehicles were tested from 50 to 120 km/h at the interval of 10 km/h in normal steady state and inertia cruising conditions. Using the results, we evaluate and discuss the effect of vehicle noise generation depending on the different conditions for vehicle type, speed, road surface and loading condition, especially focused on friction noise between tyre and road surface.

  • In rough seas, green water shipped on board may impose quite large impact loads on the structures on deck and sometimes result in structure damages. One of the essential tasks of the naval fluid engineers is to provide the design impact loads which are needed for proper design of the structure strength against the green water impacts. Computation of the design impact load due to green water needs first a process to find the sea condition and the ship cruising condition which cause maximum green water impacts on structures as well as other succeeding processes to compute ship motion responses, green water flows and impact loads. Also, as a bold and practical process, it is needed that the irregular real seas are to be substituted by design regular waves which are equivalent in view points of green water impacts. In this paper, the whole processes to compute the design green water loads acting on bow structure are set up creatively. And the green water design impact loads acting on the box-type structure of a high-speed ship's bow are computed and discussed.

  • In this study, the characteristics of crossing a river of Ground Armored Vehicle (GAV) were evaluated by numerical method and real size tests. 3-D hybrid mesh systems were constructed by 3-D models of the GAV, and a commercial software, FLUENT, was used in numerical analysis. In order to deal with multi-phase problem (air and water), Volume Of Fluid (VOF) method was used, and Moving and Deforming Mesh (MDM) was adapted for unsteady motion of GAV. There were two steps in this research. Firstly, stability of the GAV which cruised a river was evaluated by changing several shapes of water-proof-front-wing of the GAV in steady state, and compared results (free surface shape and drag value in 10km/h) with those of real size tests. Secondly, results of unsteady analysis considering weight and moment of inertia of the GAV were presented. There were showed a maximum velocity with a designed water jet and dynamic stability including pitch, roll, and yaw moment. Based on these results, the optimal shape of water-proof-front-wing of the GAV was determined for a proto-type of the GAV.
