Background: The purpose of this study is to compare and analysis the changes in strength and endurance of the knee extensor muscles after Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Methods: Twelve male subjects with ligament injury were seated on Biodex and the hip joint was flexed at 110°, and torso, lower extremities, and legs were fixed using Velcro. The resistance device was placed at a point 3cm above the ankle, and measurements were taken before and a surgery at 60°/sec and 180°/sec when the knee was maximally extended. The postures ingeniously combine forward-bending poses countered with backward-bending ones. Results: There was no significant difference in the comparison of muscle strength of 60°/sec and 180°/sec before surgery. But there was a significant difference after surgery. There was significant difference in muscle endurance both before and after surgery. There was a significant difference in the pre- and post- operative comparison values of muscle strength and endurance in isokinetic movements at 60°/sec and 180°/sec during knee extension on the injured side. Conclusion: For cruciate ligament tears, Orthopedic reconstruction is recommended. Correct alignment of the knee ligament after surgery can enhance the strength and endurance of the quadriceps femoris during knee extension rejuvenated.

The purpose of this case study is to show a case of acute posterior cruciate ligament(PCL) complete injury improved by conservative acupuncture therapy. The patient was treated for 100 days. The patient received deep interarticular electroacupuncture(EA) stimulation at S35, LE200, LE211 and treated by other acupoint stimulation, herb medication, cupping, physical treatments and exercise. We evaluated through MRI and Lysholm knee score. We suggest to treat acute posterior cruciate ligament(PCL) injury with acupuncture therapy meaning conservative therapy and would like to research acupuncture treatment plan for the further treatments.

A ganglion cyst is a soft tissue mass that is surrounded by a dense connective-tissue capsule. The capsule is filled with a viscous fluid that is rich in hyaluronic acid and other mucopolysaccharides. But, Ganglion cysts in the knee joint are rare. There are very few case reports of ganglion cysts related to the surface of the anterior cruciate ligament, Posterior cruciate ligament and medial meniscus. We are reporting a case of a ganglion cyst in the anterior aspect of the anterior cruciate ligament accompanying with discoid lateral meniscus in the right knee of a 46-year-old woman without any history of trauma. The cyst and discoid lateral meniscus were treated successfully with arthroscopic excision and partial meniscectomy.

The purpose of this case study was to use Korean medicine to treat posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fracture. The patient suffered left knee pain resulting from an avulsion fracture and was hospitalized for 59 days and treated with acupuncture and traditional Korean medicine. The effect of the treatment was evaluated using the Numerical Rate Scale, the Western Ontario and McMaster universities Osteoarthritis Index, and the European Quality of Life Five Dimensions. Following treatment of the pain in the left knee, scores for Numerical Rate Scale, Western Ontario and McMaster universities Osteoarthritis Index, and European Quality of Life Five Dimensions were improved. This study suggested that Korean Medicine could be an effective treatment for posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fractures. Further studies are needed to substantiate this conclusion.

후방십자인대에 발생한 국소적 거대세포종의 보고는 드물며, 불완전한 절제 시 재발율이 매우 높다. 저자들은 슬관절 후방십자인대에 발생한 국소적 거대 세포종 1예를 관절경하에서 후격막 통과 도달법을 통해 완전 절제 후 병리학적으로 확진하였으며, 1년 추시에서 양호한 임상적 결과를 보여 이를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

전방 십자 인대 재건술 후에 발생한 전경골 결절종은 매우 드문 합병증으로 국내외에 그 보고가 매우 적으며, 몇몇 저자들이 그 발생 시기 및 원인들이 다양하다고 보고하고 있다. 저자들은 34세 남자에서 아킬레스 동종건과 생체 흡수성 간섭나사를 이용한 관절경적 전방 십자 인대 재건술 후 발생한 전경골 결절종 1예를 치험하였기에, 그 발생 원인 및 치료를 포함하여 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하고자 한다.

45% of the sports accidents is the knee damage and the representative case is the damage of an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and the Posterior Cruciate Ligament(PCL). Although the past different views of ACL reconstruction comes to an agreement, the disputes of PCL is remained yet. The most important engineering approach for these various surgery techniques is accurately to understand and to evaluate the fatigue behavior depending on the stress flow and the stress distribution under the allotted load and the cyclic load, which are caused by the graft fixing device, the proximal tibia of the PCL reconstructing structure. Therefore, this study is the basic research of these above facts. The current transtibial tunnel surgery using the cadaveric Achilles tendon grafts is chosen for the various PCL reconstruction. The relationships between the slippage, the extension ratio, and the slippage ratio by the heel bone fixing method and the soft tissue fixing method of the Achilles tendon were also defined. This research will be the essential data to help the resonable operating techniques for the next PCL reconstruction.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to provide an efficient and basis for muscle activity of Quadriceps muscles and balance in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction patients through unstable surface exercise and stable surface exercise. Methods : This study included 30 anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction patients belonging to A hospital and D orthopedic surgery clinic of province who attended the program for 30 minutes at a time and three times a week for 4 weeks. Of these 15 attended the unstable surface exercise program and 15 the stable surface exercise program. To increase muscle activity (%MVIC) and balance (WPL), the unstable surface exercise. Results : The %MVIC of lower extrmity muscle(RF, VL, VM) increased from before training to after training in the case of the participants who performed the unstable surface exercise, and the whole path length (WPL) decreased from before the training to after the training(p<.05). Conclusion : In conclusion, unstable surface exercise program helps to improve the balancing ability and musle activity in a anterior cruciate ligament recunstruction patients who requires both muscle activity and balance than stable surface exercise program.

단일 다발 십자인대 재건술의 임상적 결과를 보다 향상하고자 제안된 이중 다발 전방십자인대 재건술은 해부학적, 생역학적, 생물학적, 운동역학적으로 많은 이론적 장점이 있고 이에 따른 임상적 측면에서의 결과 향상이 기대되지만 이를 입증할 만한 충분한 관찰 기간을 가진 임상적 연구들이 매우 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 저자는 이중 다발 전방십자인대 재건술에 관련되어 최근까지 발표된 문헌을 통해 임상적 결과를 분석하고 이에 제기된 문제점을 살펴보고자 한다.

석회화 건염을 포함한 석회침착성 질환은 슬관절 내에는 드물게 발생하는 병변으로 이를 보고하는 문헌도 제한되어 있으며 특히 후방십자인대에 발생한 동통성 석회침착의 국내 보고는 없었다. 저자들은 슬관절 후방십자인대에 발생한 동통성 석회침착을 관절경하에서 절제 후 병리학적으로 확진하였으며 임상적으로 좋은 결과를 보였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하고자 한다.
