Dual-band microstrip antenna is designed for industrial-scientific-medical(ISM) band of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz using finite-difference time-domain method(FDTD). Cross patch 130 by aperture in the ground plane of microstrip line is proposed as radiation element of antenna which is 2 rectangular patch is overlapped. To design antenna, change of input impedance is examined by length change of aperture and stub. And center frequency and - 10 dB bandwidth are investigated by change of length and width in radiation element. Measured result about reflection loss confirm that agree well with simulation results of FDTD and IE3D. And 3 dB beam width, front to back ratio and maximum gain is presented by measuring radiation pattern of antenna in frequency 2.43 GHz and 5.79 GHz.
The seismic vulnerability analysis of multi-span bridges can be based on the response of the piers, provided that deck, bearings and foundations remain elastic. The lateral response of an RC bridge pier can be affected by different mechanisms (i.e., flexure, shear, lap-splice or buckling of the longitudinal reinforcement bars, second order effects). In the literature, simplified formulations are available for mechanisms different from the flexure. On the other hand, the flexural response is usually calculated with a numerically-based Moment-Curvature diagram of the base section and equivalent plastic hinge length. The goal of this paper is to propose a simplified analytical solution to obtain the Moment-Curvature relationship for hollow circular RC sections. This based on calibrated polynomials, fitted against a database comprising 720 numerical Moment-Curvature analyses. The section capacity curve is defined through the position of 6 characteristic points and they are based on four input parameters: void ratio of the hollow section, axial force ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, transversal reinforcement ratio. A case study RC bridge pier is assessed with the proposed solution and the results are compared to a refined numerical FEM analysis, showing good match.
For large scale applications of high temperature superconductor (HTS) such as transmission cables, motors and generators, long length of flexible HTS conductor is required. Currently, Bi-2223 HTS tape is capable of being fabricated in longer than 100 m length by industrial processes. In this study, we fabricated 100 m 19 filamentary Bi-2223 ($Bi_{1.8}Pb_{0.4}Sr_2Ca_2O_{10+x}$) HTS tape by PIT (Power in Tube) process. Critical current(IC) of this long length tape was measured 18.5 A at 77K, self field. Critical current of 100 m length tape was mainly resulted from the increase of inhomogeneity in oxide from the increase of inhomogeneity in oxide layer. Engineering critical current (Je=Ic/total tape cross-section area) that is important factor for practical applications and fabrication cost was measured 2.2 kA/cm2.

The characteristic of air-assist spray injected into subsonic crossflow were studied experimentally. External-mixing air assist injector of Orifice nozzle with L/d of 3 were tested with various air-liquid ratio. Shadowgraph photography was performed for spray visualization and trajectory of spray measurements. The detailed spray structure was characterized in terms of SMD, velocity, and volume flux, using PDPA. Experimental results indicate that penetration length was increased and spray distribution was accelerated by increasing air-liquid ratio.
The increasing apparent photosynthetic rate per leaf area may improve seed yield in soybean. Leaf area, length and width are related to the photosynthetic capability of the plant. In this study, two populations derived from the cross of Keunolkong, Shinpaldalkong and Iksanl0 were evaluated with simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers to identify length, width and length/width ratio of leaf. Leaf length/width ratio were significantly negative correlation with leaf width in K/S and K/I populations. In the K/S population, two minor QTLs for leaf length (LL) were found on LG Dlb+W and 1. Two QTLs on LG J and L were related to LL in K/I population. Two and three minor QTLs were identified in leaf width with total phenotypic variation of 13% and 18.04 in K/S and K/I populations, respectively. The leaf length/width ratio, two QTLs on LG I and L, and three QTLs on LG Cl, E and L were related to K/S and K/I populations, respectively. Thus it is assumed that the leaf traits are very much dependent on the genotype used and different breeding approach should be considered for the selection of favorite leaf traits in soybean breeding programs.
The purpose of this study was to assess cross-generational effects of bisphenol A exposure in benthic copepods, Tigriopus west. Nauplii (<24 hours old) were exposed to graded concentrations of bisphenol A, and toxicity end-points such as survival, development, sex ratio, and fecundity were measured. $F_1$ generations were grown under innoxious conditions, and similarly assessed. Significant differences were observed in development of nauplii and copepodites, between exposed and non-exposed copepods; however, there were no differences in survival of nauplii or copepodites, sex ratio, or brooding rate in parental generation. In contrast, in the $F_1$ generation, there were significant differences between the control group and exposed group in survival and development of nauplii. Length, width, and biomass of parental and $F_1$ generations were reduced in the exposed group compared to the control group. In addition, some deformities, such as swelling of the prosome, abnormally shaped egg sac, and dwarfism were observed after exposure to bisphenol A. So, our study demonstrates that a cross-generation toxicity test and monitoring of morphological deformities in harpacticoid copepods, can be useful for development of potential bioindicators for environmental monitoring, and assessment of chemical impact.

To achieve efficient supersonic combustion within a manageable length, a successful fuel injection scheme must provide rapid mixing between fuel and airstream. In former days, various injection concepts have been investigated. Cavity flow is the open type, that is, length-to-depth ratio L/D=4.8, aft ramp angle is $22.5^{\circ}$. An experimental study on a transverse cross jet injection into a Mach 1.92 supersonic main stream which flows over a cavity was carried out to investigate the effect of the momentum flux ratio(J), the jet interaction characteristics, and the pressure distribution in the combustor and using the primary diagnostics : schlieren visualization and wall static pressure measurements. Fuel penetration height and jet interaction characteristics depend strongly on the momentum flux ratio.
Weld bead quality in tailored blank(TB) is critically affected by edge preparation of sheets. The edge quality of prepared sheets for TB can be classified into straightness and the cross section quality of sheared plane such as a ratio of shear face, shear plane angle, etc. In order to have a good edg quality for butt-welding sheets, precision shearing will be recommended. In this paper, the feasibility of a conventional mechanical shearing as the edge preparation for tailored blanks is studyied. It reveals that fine shearing may not be the unique solution as it is generally accepted. To obtain the good shearing condition with a conventional mechanical shearing, experiments were carried out using Tahuchi method. The major parameters affecting a sheared contour are the clearance between upper blade and lower blade, and shear angle. The optimal shearing condition yields a very good straightness along the entire length of the cut, which gives a butt joint gap less than 10% of the base material thickness. The good cross section of sheared plane is also achieved in the optimal shearing condition such as a ratio of the shear face above 65%, a cross section's shear plane angle above 85%, little burr, which is providing finally good weld beads.

A kinematically admissible velocity field is developed for the analysis of twisting of extruded products. The twisting of extruded product is caused by the linearly increased rotational velocity from the center on the cross-section of the workpiece at the die exit. In the analysis, the rotational velocity in angular direction is assumed by the multiplication of radial distance and angular velocity. The angular velocity is zero at the die entrance and is increased linearly by longitudinal distance from die entrance. The increase rate of angular velocity is determined by the minimization of plastic work. The results of the analysis show that the angular velocity of the extruded product changes with the aspect ratio of product and increases with the decreases in die length and in eccentricity of gravity center of the cross-section of workpiece at die entrance from that of the cross-section at the die exit.
We propose a nearly lossless, compact, electrically modulated vertical directional coupler, which is based on the controllable evanescent coupling in a previously proposed graphene-assisted total internal reflection (GA-FTIR) scheme. In the proposed device, two single-mode waveguides are separate by graphene-$SiO_2$-graphene layers. By changing the chemical potential of the graphene layers with a gate voltage, the coupling strength between the waveguides, and hence the coupling length of the directional coupler, is controlled. Therefore, for a properly chosen, fixed device length, when an input wave is launched into one of the waveguides, the ratio of their output powers can be controlled electrically. The operation of the proposed device is analyzed, with the dispersion relations calculated using a model of a one-dimensional slab waveguide. The supermodes in the coupled waveguide are calculated using the finite-element method to estimate the coupling length, realistic devices are designed, and their performance was confirmed using the finite-difference time-domain method. The designed $3{\mu}m$ by $1{\mu}m$ device achieves an insertion loss of less than 0.11 dB, and a 24-dB extinction ratio between bar and cross states. The proposed low-loss device could enable integrated modulation of a strong optical signal, without thermal buildup.
