Steel tubular towers are commonly used in UHV and long crossing transmission lines. By considering effects of the model scale, the solidity ratio and the ratio of the mean width to the mean height, wind tunnel tests under different wind speeds on twenty tubular steel tower body models and twenty-six tubular steel cross-arm models were completed. Drag coefficients and shielding factors of the experimental tower body models and cross-arm models in wind directional axis for typical skewed angles were obtained. The influence of the lift forces on the skewed wind load factors of tubular steel tower bodies was evaluated. The skewed wind load factors, the wind load distribution factors in transversal and longitudinal direction were calculated for the tubular tower body models and cross-arm models, respectively. Fitting expressions for the skewed wind load factors of tubular steel bodies and cross-arms were determined through nonlinear fitting analysis. Parameters for skewed wind loads determined by wind tunnel tests were compared with the regulations in applicable standards. Suggestions on the drag coefficients, the skewed wind load factors and the wind load distribution factors were proposed for tubular steel transmission towers.
The immnunogenicity of the possible non-essential component of the combined vaccine (KGCC-957) for the prophylaxis against Japanese encephalitis and Hantaan virus infection recently developed by Korea Green Cross Corporation was investigated using the Hartley guinea pigs. The KGCC-95Vl was administered to the guinea pigs subcutaneously to sensitize the animals. The guinea pigs did not induce any anaphylactic immune responses which could be detectable by the active systemic anaphylaxis (ASA), the passive systemic anaphylaxis (PSA), and the passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) tests. The KGCC-95Vl is considered not to induce any anaphylactic immune responses except the prophylatic immune effects of the vaccine.
With the development of the Internet environment, cross-border crowdfunding has emerged as a novel method to attract foreign investors online. Focusing on 324 South Korea-based crowdfunding projects from Kickstarter, which is a representative cross-border crowdfunding platform, this study explores the trends of South Korea-based funding projects and examines the effects of key determinants on crowdfunding outcomes. Regarding the characteristics of crowdfunding projects, analysis results show that the appropriate goal amount and funding period, sufficient updates of project status, and active communication is critical for success. Additionally, from the perspective of project creators, this research finds that creators need to pay greater attention to writing their detailed biographies. Finally, examining the characteristics of project backers, this study shows that attracting project backers from various countries would be desirable rather than focusing on Korean sponsors from the start.

The structural behaviors of anisotropic laminated shells are quite different from that of isotropic shells, Also, the classical theory of shells based on neglecting transverse shear deformation is invalid for laminated shells. Thus, to obtain the more exact behavior of laminated shells, effects of shear deformation should be considered in the analysis. As the length of x-axis or y-axis is increase, the effects of transverse shear deformation are decrease because the stiffness for the axis according to the increasing of length is large gradually. In this paper, the governing equations for anisotropic laminated shallow shell including the effects of shear deformation are derived. And then, by using Navier's solutions for shallow shells having simple supported boundary, extensive numerical studies for anisotropic laminated shallow shells were made to investigate the effects of shear deformation for 3 typical shells. Also, static analysis is carried out for cross-ply laminated shells considering the effects of various geometrical parameters, e,g., the shallowness ratio, the thickness ratio and the ratio of a(length of x-axis)-to-b(length of y-axis). The results are compared with existed one and show good agreement.
Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) such as $N^{\varepsilon}$-(carboxy-methyl)lysine (CML) have been implicated in the development of diabetic nephropathy. The aim of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effects of ethanolic extract of Aster koraiensis (AKE) on AGEs formation and AGEs-collagen cross-linking in vitro and CMLs formation in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. AKE significantly inhibited AGEs formation ($IC_{50}$ value of $18.74{\mu}g/mL$) and AGEs-collagen cross-linking ($IC_{50}$ value of 0.274 mg/mL) in vitro than the well-known glycation inhibitor aminoguanidine ($IC_{50}$ value of $72.12{\mu}g/mL$ and 1.99 mg/mL, respectively). AKE (100 mg/kg per day) was given to diabetic rats for 9 weeks. In STZ-induced diabetic rats, severe hyperglycemia was developed, and urinary CMLs and plasma CMLs were markedly increased. Immunohistochemical stain revealed that CMLs were accumulated within renal glomerulus in STZ-induced diabetic rats. However, AKE significantly reduced urinary CMLs and plasma CMLs in diabetic rats. CMLs accumulation was inhibited by AKE treatment in the renal glomerulus. These results suggest that AKE had an inhibitory effect of AGE accumulation in the glomeruli of diabetic rat and could be an inhibitor of AGE-induced protein cross-linking. The oral administration of AKE may significantly help to prevent the progression of diabetic nephropathy in patients with diabetes.
In this paper, when two sets of cross-eye jammer antennas are installed vertically to jam a monopulse radar, the jamming effects according to the jammer's phase difference, amplitude ratio, and radar angle of engagement are analyzed. The phase difference and amplitude ratio of the cross-eye jammer can be adjusted in the jammer, but since the angle of engagement is relatively determined by the radar, it is very important to respond to changes in the angle of engagement. The orthogonally deployed jammer antennas can be considered as a good way to increase the jamming effect while minimizing the hardware configuration, and the jamming effect is analyzed while changing the angle of inclination from 0° to 360°. This jammer greatly improves the jamming effects at the angles of incidence 45°~135° and 225°~315°, compared to a single jammer. And it is expected to be useful in the design of cross-eye jammers for military aircraft and ships.

We investigated the effects of the CSRR-metamaterial on microstrip comb-line array antennas. Microstrip comb-line array antennas was designed with 12 radiators, gain of 16.09dBi and bandwidth of 0.24GHz in the 24GHz ISM band. The designed antenna had radiation beam perpendicular to the antenna plane, co-polarization gain of 16.09dBi and cross-polarization gain of -10.86dBi. the CSRR-metamaterial increased largely the impedance bandwidth of the antenna from 0.24GHz to 3.6GHz. however as co-polarization gain became 10.08dBi and cross-polarization gain became 14.1dBi, co-polarization was mixed with cross-polarization. And the antenna gain lowered by 1.99dB. On the investigation of the dependence on the split-direction of the CSRR rings, it showed nearly the same characteristics for up-splitted ring used case and down-splitted ring used case. However in the case of arranging up-splitted ring and down-splitted ring in alternation, co-polarization gain decreased to -1.29dBi and cross-polarization gain increased to 13.9dBi, which meant the wave was transited to cross-polarization majority wave.
The relative extrinsic value orientation (REVO) means the relative importance to extrinsic values (e.g. wealth, fame and social approval) compared with intrinsic values (e.g. affiliation, self-acceptance and personal growth). This study aimed to investigate the causal relation between REVO and life-satisfaction using the auto-regressive cross-lagged modeling. For this purpose, 3rd, 5th, and 7th year data from the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) middle school 1st grade panel was analyzed (N = 2,259; 1,140 males and 1,119 females). The results are as follows; Firstly, positive auto-regressive effects of REVO and life-satisfaction were significant. Secondly, REVO was found to have negative and cross-lagged effect on life-satisfaction. However, cross-lagged effect from life-satisfaction to REVO was not significant. Finally, no gender difference was found in this relationship. These results suggest that low life satisfaction does not cause the relative extrinsic value orientation, but high relative extrinsic value orientation may cause low life satisfaction.

Pheromone orientation in moths is an exemplar of olfactory sensitivity. To avoid cross mating, the responses of males to pheromone blends must be high specificity and temporal resolution. We tested the effects of olfactory self- and cross-adaptation of pheromone compounds and mixtures in Spodoptera litura moths by electroantennogram (EAG) recordings. The challenge of S. litura antennae to a pulse train of its own pheromone blends of Z9,E11-14:OAc and Z9,E12-14:OAc with 200 ms on/off and 1 s on/off indicated that the repetitive stimulation by 200 ms on/off with high dosages resulted in greater adaptation than that by 1 s on/off with low dosages and the adaptation index of Z9,E11-14:OAc in all treatments is significantly larger than that of Z9,E12-14:OAc, suggesting that high dosages with more frequent stimulation prefer to induce sensory adaptations and a different odor coding exist between the two components in the antennal periphery in this moth. The cross-adaptation EAG test among the two pheromone compounds and Z7-12:OAc and Z9-14:OH from congeneric species of S. litura showed that each of these compounds adapted the antenna more to that specific compound. The significantly higher adaptation to Z7-12:OAc and Z9-14:OH than to the pheromone components of S. litura induced by themselves suggested that both of them are coded by specific odor receptor neurons which are different from those tuned to the pheromone components of S. litura . Thus, we proposed that Z7-12:OAc and Z9-14:OH may play an important role in avoidance of heterospecific mating between S. litura and its sympatric moth species.
