  • Comparison of acoustic emission, ultrasonic testing and crack gauge in 3-point bending testing have been studied. As the results, COD is indirectly assumed by strain gauge rate and grid pitch width when crack gauge grid is out. Acoustic emission is qualitatively able to measure crack growth by total count but ultrasonic testing has a difficulty in measuring it because of echo height fluctuation according to the change and pressure of UT. probe.

  • The crack of concrete is one of the most important factors to evaluate the safety of the structures. The more important point for the safety-evaluation of the concrete structures is to check the crack development, the conventional window paper (Chang Ho Ji) have been used as a simple method in the past, and nowadays the strain gauge is used for more correct way to check the development of the concrete crack quantitatively. However the window-paper method is too simple and not so scientific, and the strain-gauge method is rather complicated for people in general. This Easy-Check Sensor provides the simple usage for the various concrete structures, but also the more correct results to evaluate the development of the concrete crack.

  • Recently, research on flexible sensors for personal health management has been gaining attention. In this study, we fabricated a crack-based flexible sensor in thin film form to measure the pulse on the wrist. We evaluated the characteristics of the sensor based on the curing conditions of the PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) film to optimize the sensor's gauge factor. The modulus of PDMS varies depending on the curing conditions. In this case, the modulus of PDMS has a significant influence on crack formation, leading to changes in the sensitivity of the sensor. This study examined the changes in the gauge factor associated with these variations.

  • Acoustic emission technique is applied to the fatigue crack initiation in a carburized gear tooth. Acoustic emission test performed on carburized gear and three-point bending test equal to carburized gear hardness. The marked acoustic emission are detected at the early stage of crack initiation measured by a crack gauge and the final stage just before the tooth failure. The estimated acoustic emission energy rate are characteristic of the measured acoustic emission.

  • 본 논문에서는 굴착 및 가시설 설치로 인한 기존 지하철 터널 라이닝에 발생되는 균열에 대한 모니터링과 분석을 실시하였다. 균열은 터널의 확폭부 근처에서 발생하였다. 균열 게이지, 내부변위계, 3D레이저 스캐너 같은 여러 계측 장비들은 발생된 균열과 균열이 터널에 미치는 영향에 대해 모니터링 하기 위해 설치되었다. 라이닝의 변형과 균열의 추가적인 확장 상태를 파악하기 위하여 균열 게이지와 내부변위계로 현장 계측을 실시하였다. 전체적인 변상 평가를 위하여 3D 레이저 스캐너를 활용하였다. 스캐너 데이터로부터 터널과 철도의 전체적인 변상 상태를 평가하였다. 지하 공사시 지반의 불연속성으로 인해 균열확장의 정확한 변형을 측정하는 것은 어려운 일이다. 본 논문에서는 터널 라이닝의 변형과 레일에 미치는 영향에 대하여 기존 계측방법과 전체적인 변상 상태에 대하여 분석하였다.

A fast and simplified crack width quantification method via deep Q learning

  • Crack width is an important indicator to evaluate the health condition of the concrete structure. The crack width is measured by manual using crack width gauge commonly, which is time-consuming and laborious. In this paper, we have proposed a fast and simplified crack width quantification method via deep Q learning and geometric calculation. Firstly, the crack edge is extracted by using U-Net network and edge detection operator. Then, the intelligent decision of is made by the deep Q learning model. Further, the geometric calculation method based on endpoint and curvature extreme point detection is proposed. Finally, a case study is carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, achieving high precision in the real crack width quantification.

  • In case of spot-welded joints, the fatigue cracks generally originate from the weld interfaces of the neighborhood nugget tips, and propagate toward the outer surfaces of the sheets. Generally, because fatigue crack was observed in nugget around, strain gage was attached at nugget zone. Accordingly, it was very difficult to detect the generation time of fatigue crack in spot-welded joints and to measure the propagation speed of fatigue crack. We developed the non-destructive method, according to which th fatigue crack propagation rate can be quantitatively estimated by utilizing information obtained from strain gages bonded on the electrode indentations of spot welds. The results measured by real crack were compared with the data which was measured by strain gauge method in fatigue testing. And so fatigue strength was evaluated by stress intensity factor. In this study behavior of fatigue crack propagation under repeated load were considered.

  • Crack detection technique for concrete structures has been developed in this study,. The technique utilizes OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) method that is widely used in the field of optical engineering. At present, some techniques, such as the naked eye inspection, inspection by crack gauge, ultra sonic detection and os on, are used for crack detection. However, these are not economical and are often time-consuming works. This method employs a common optical fiber as a means of crack detection. Th optical fiber is fully attached to concrete surface, and a crack on concrete could be detected to synchronize with the crack on optical fiber. The experimental verification was performed for concrete beams and the intial crack on the beam was detected under cracking force.

  • Kikukawa-Compliance method using a conventional clip-on gauge was employed to investigate fatigue crack growth and crack closure in 2017-T3 aluminum alloy. The crack growth rate plot against stress intensity range .DELTA.K on a log-log diagram exhibits a bilinear form with a transition at the growth rate of 10$\^$-4/ mm/cycle. The bilinear form appears still in the plot of growth rate versus effective stress intensity range .DELTA.K$\_$eff/. Fatigue crack growth rate could be well represented by .DELTA.K$\_$eff. The experimental results indicate that the effective stress intensity range ratio U depends on the maximum stress intensity factor K$\_$max/, but the stress ratio R does not affect U. The crack opening stress intensity factor K$\_$op/ tends to increase with increasing K$\_$max/ and decrease with increasing .DELTA.K.

중앙 도서관 발파해체 시공사례 (A Case Study on Explosives Demolition of Central Library)

  • 최근 노후 건물에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따라 구조물의 해체 방법에 대해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 시공사례는 한남동 단국대학교 캠퍼스 내에 위치한 중앙도서관 건물을 대상으로 하였다. 발파해체공법은 Professive Collapse(점진적 붕괴) 공법을 적용하였다. 발파해체 주 발파 층은 2층, 4층, 보조 발파 층은 1층으로 선정하였다. 진동측정결과 가장 근거리(약 150m)에서 측정된 진동은 0.0302cm/sec (PPV기준)이었고 사전에 설치한 크랙게이지 측정값에서는 변화가 없었다.
