계장화 미소변위 측정기를 이용한 Al 2024-T3 소재의 미소피로 균열의 열림특성연구 (A study on crack opening behavior of small fatigue crack in Al 2024-T3 material using computerized interferometric strain/displacement gage)

  • 본 연구에서는 Al 2024-T3 판으로 제작된 한면 노치 시편에 여러 조건의 피로 하중을 가하여 노치면내에 형성된 미소 피로균열의 COD를 광학적 간섭현상에 기초를 둔 미소 변위측정기(Interferometric Strain/Displacement Gage`ISDG)를 개량하여 측 정하였다. 이 ISDG의 컴퓨터 조정방식을 정밀화시켜 0.02$\mu\textrm{m}$까지의 상대변위를 측정 할 수 있도록 보완하였다. 고정밀화돈 측정기로 수십 $\mu\textrm{m}$길이의 미소균열의 COD도 측 정하였고 컴류터에 저장시킴으로써 시험후 미소 피로균열에 대한 열림 특성을 분석할 수 있다. 측정된 미소 피로균열의 균열열림특성을 고찰하고 긴 균열의 열림특성과도 비교.분석 하였다.

  • The stress conditions acting on the practical structure are complex, and thus most cracks existing in the practical structures are under mixed-mode loading conditions. The effect of shear load component of mixed-mode loading acts more greatly in the stage of crack initiation and initial propagation than crack propagation stage. Hence, research on the behavior in the stage of crack initiation and initial propagation need to be examined in order to evaluate behavior of mixed-mode fatigue cracks. In this study, the crack tip displacement(CTD) was measured by using the direct measuring method(DMM). We examined the behavior at crack tip by determining crack opening load$(P_{op})$. From the test results, the propagation behavior of mixed-mode fatigue cracks was evaluated by considering mixed-mode crack closure. Also, we examined the characteristic of crack propagation under mixed-mode loading with crack propagation direction.

  • The constant .DELTA.K fatigue tests are performed in SS41 and its weldments to investigate crack opening behavior and fatigue crack propagation behavior at each parts of weldment and its boundary layer. The weldments were annealed after welding for the purpose of relieving residual stress. Every weldments has notch at weld metal zone, and fatigue crack propagates from weld metal zone to vase metal zone perpendicular to weld line. The Laser ISDG method is used in order to determine the crack opening ratio, this method is more precise than indirect measurement method, and faster and easier than other direct measurement method.

임계 CTOA조건을 이용한 파괴해석 (Fracture Analysis Based on the Critical-CTOA Criterion)

  • An engineering method is suggested to calculate the applied load versus crack extension in the elastic-plastic fracture. The condition for an increment of crack extension is set by a critical increment of crack-up opening displacement(CTOD). The ratio of the CTOD increment to the incremental crack extention is a critical crack-tip opening angle(CTOA), assumed to be constant for a material of a given thickness. The Dugdale model of crack-tip deformation in an infinite plate is applied to the method, and a complete solution for crack extension and crack instability is obtained. For finite-size specimens of arbitrary geometry in general yielding, an approximate generalization of the Dugdale model is suggested so that the approximation approaches the small-scale yielding solution in a low applied load and the finite-element solution in a large applied load. Maximum load is calculated so that an applied load attains either a limit load on an unbroken ligament or a peak load during crack extension. The proposed method was applied to three-point bend specimens of a carbon steel SM45C in various sizes. Reasonable agreements are found between calculated maximum loads and experimental failure loads. Therefore, the method can be a viable alternative to the J-R curve approach in the elastic-plastic fracture analysis.

해양구조물용 TMCP강의 피로균열진전거동에 미치는 용접이방성 및 과대하중의 영향 (The effect of the excessive loading and welding anisotropy on the fatigue crack propagation behavior of TMCP steel for offshore structure)

  • The effect of the welding for the offshore structure in the TMCP steel on the fatigue crack propagation rate and crack opening-and-closure behavior was examined. The welding anisotropy of the TMCP steel and crack propagation characteristics of the excessive loading were reviewed. (1) It seemed that a heat which was generated by the welding made a compressive residual stress over the base metal, so fatigue crack propagation rate was placed lower than in case of the base metal. (20 In the base metal, an effect of the anisotropy which has an effect of fatigue crack propagation rate of the excessive load and the constant amplitude laos was not found but in the welding material case, fatigue crack propagation rate of the excessive load in the specimen of the width direction was located in the retard side as compared with a specimen rolling direction. (3) A crack opening ratio of the used TMCP stel in this study was not changed after excessive loading but a retard phenomenon of crack propagation was observed. Consequently, it was thought that all of the retard phenomenon of crack propagation did not only a cause of the crack opening-and-closure phenomenon.

  • 본 연구에서는 압력용기 소재인 SPV 50Q와 고압강관 소재로 사용하는 SPV 50Q 와 고압강간 소재로 사용하는 API 5A-K55에서의 표면균열의 표면방향과 깊이방향 또한 두께 평균에 대한 균열열림을 스트레인 게이지와 CMOD(Crack Mouth Opening Displace- ment)게이지를 이용하여 측정 비교하였다. 또한 표면균열의 균열 열림하중을 측정위 치에 따라 평가하고, 본연구에 사용한 두 소재에 대해 균열 열림을 고려한 표면균열 진전평가가 각 방향에 대해 이루어졌다.

  • 부정정계 배관의 두께 관통 후 파단전누설 거동과 균열개구변위는 정정계 배관과 비교하여 연구 하였다. 부정정 배관은 균열 발생으로 인한 최대 강도의 감소가 비교적 적었다. 부정정 배관계의 파단 전누설 거동은 정정계 배관보다 더 안전 하였다. 균열개구변위는 미관통균열을 가지는 배관에서 균열 관통 후 평가하기 위하여 제안된 소성힌지를 사용하여 평가하였다.

An Investigation about Dynamic Behavior of Three Point Bending Specimen

  • Computer simulations of the mechanical behavior of a three point bend specimen with a quarter notch under impact load are performed. The case with a load application point at the side is considered. An elastic-plastic von Mises material model is chosen. Three phases such as impact bouncing and bending phases are found to be identified during the period from the moment of impact to the estimated time for crack initiation. It is clearly shown that no plastic deformation near the crack tip is appeared at the impact phase. However it is confirmed that the plastic zone near the crack tip emerges in the second phase and the plastic hinge has been formed in the third phase. Gap opening displacement crack tip opening displacement and strain rate are compared with rate dependent material(visco-plastic material). The stability during various dynamic load can be seen by using the simulation of this study.

Crack Opening Behavior of Concrete Reinforced with High Strength Reinforcing Steel

  • A major difference between high-strength reinforcing steel and conventional steel in concrete is that the service-load steel stress is expected to be greater. Consequently, the service-load steel strains are greater affecting cracking behavior. A parametric study investigating crack widths and patterns in reinforced concrete prisms is presented in order to establish limits to the service-load steel stress and strain. Additionally, based on the results of available flexural tests, crack widths at service load levels were evaluated and found to be within presently accepted limits for highway bridge structures, and were predictable using current AASHTO provisions. A limitation on service-level stresses of $f_s{\leq}414$ MPa (60 ksi) is nonetheless recommended.
