Selection procedures of earth retention systems are increasingly complex and directly related to the serviceability of the retaining structure selection systems since significant changes in earth retention technology motivates the review of design, and selection processes of earth retaining structures. Collection and classification of retaining structure selection knowledge are key issues because two expert groups, geotechnical and structural engineers, are mainly involved in the retaining structure selection. The course of natural tendency of expert knowledge are investigated considering the decision factors. The decision factors for selecting retaining structures are divided into four categories: application of the structure, and spatial, behavior, and economic constraints.

Tensegrity is a relatively new sructural system (about more than 50 years old) based on the use of continuous tension-discontinuous compression. In spite of the controversial principles to define these systems, several examples of tensegrity prototypes constructed in IEDS(Institute of Environment Structure Design) are presented illustrating the feasibility of tensegrity as a lightweight structure. Of course, a much more detailed structural investigation would be necessary, but at least in order to achieve the intended purpose, it is essential to understand the structural principles and the fundamental forces of tensegrity. Once this point Is established, the characteristics of these structures are described, as well as applying them to architecture. Consequently, in this work, the patterns of basic module as well as fundamental definition are introduced. Then, the application of tensegrity to architecture has also been mentioned.

Dissecting aortic aneurysm is a disease which is characterized by hemorrhagic intramural seperation of aortic wall and extension for varlng distances proximally, distally, or both from the site of the intimal tear. Most aortas show some type of medial degeneration most commonly described as cystic medial necrosis. DeBackey classified this disease according to involved aorta and site of intimal tear to 3 basic types, such as type I, II and III. Type III is defined that dissecting process arrises in the descending thoracic aorta just distal to origin of the left subclavian artery and extends distally for a varing distance. We expirienced a case of dissecting aneurysm, type III of DeBackey's classification which dissecting process is limited to the descending thoracic aorta in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Kyungpook National University Hospital. This patient was 40 year old woman and she had suffered from intermittent sharp back pain for 3 years .before admission. Excision of the aneurysm and Dacron graft were placed successfully under the left atrio-femoral bypass with artificial pump. The hospital course was uneventful.

This is a report of one case of Loffler`s eosinophilic endocarditis associated with mitral insufficiency and LV thrombi treated surgically at the department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Hanyang University Hospital. This patient was a 42 year old female and she has complains of dyspnea, palpitation, orthopnea and generalized edema. Above symptoms has been going for 4 months and NYHA classification was IV. On examination, blood eosinophil was 45 to 50% [WBC-9800 ]. MI and LV thrombi were confirmed by LV ventriculography and echocardiography. Pulmonary congestion and congestive cardiac failure were diagnosis by X-Ray examination, EKG finding and clinical feature and others there were no organic functional disturbance. Mitral valve replacement was performed with Ionescu-Shiley pericardial valve [29mm] replacement. Adjust thumb sized grayish brown colored two thrombi were excluded, lodged in the apex and septal endocardium of LV. Endocardial fibrosis was reliably confirmed under the gross pathology in the heart. The patient had smooth postoperative course and there were no operative complication.

12 Patients with thoracic aortic aneurysm were operated between May 1985 to Sept. 1987 at the our department, Hanyang University Hospital. We retrospectively evaluated the surgical results and considered diagnosis, surgical approach and perioperative problems of thoracic aortic aneurysm. There are 9 males and 3 females in the patients. The age ranged from 23 to 61 years with the mean age at 40.6 years. The cause of the aneurysm was atherosclerosis in 5, Marfan`s syndrome in 4, syphilis In 1, trauma in 1 and annuloaortic ectasia in 1 case. According to DeBakey`s classification, Type I was 1 case, Type II was 5 cases and Type III was 6 cases. Among 6 patients with ascending aortic aneurysm, Bentall`s operation in 4 cases and ascending aorta reconstruction using to Dacron Tube Graft in 2 cases were performed successfully. 6 cases with descending aortic aneurysm were managed by prosthetic graft replacement. Chylothorax was observed in 1 patient and postoperative hemorrhage necessitating reopening of the chest occurred in 4 of operative survivors. There were 2 hospital deaths; one patient was dead during the operation and one patient was dead during the post-operative course due to low cardiac output syndrome

Dr. Ranganathan's "Principles for Helpful Sequence" among the set of normative principles play an exclusive role in the arrangement of subject isolates. Each subject in the universe of subjects is regulated by a guiding principle of its own which analogously determines the sequence of Arrays in ordering the subject surrogates or isolates. For example, the "Principle of Later-in-Evolution" is applied for sequencing isolates of Animal and Plant Species; this concept can be applied to one of the tools of KOS viz. Taxonomies. The application of Principles for Helpful Sequence is summarily presented and in the process the paper highlights the inherent elements of knowledge organization in each one of these principles in a manner that might map the future course of research in this area with the potentiality to bring about a relation between principles for helpful sequence and KOS.

E-business curriculum needs to be developed reflecting requirements of the industry which involve a close relation with a job performed in the field, and a professional knowledge and an expert skill. In this paper, we present a method based on a market-oriented approach for developing an I-business curriculum. For the purpose, we analyze the opinion data resulting from the surveyed opinions of respondents working for I-business companies and evaluate the importance of each course being involved in the curriculum with respect to the job classification (e.g., Web planner, Web master, Web programmer, Web marketer, Web designer, Web PD), and then, complete a flow diagram considering precedence and relative difficulty among the selected courses. The E-business curriculum developed by the proposed method is useful to provide guidelines for determining courses required toward a desired job and for making a partial amendment of the curriculum.

Objective : The Fibromyaigia Syndrome(FMS) is frequently used to call at clinic. There are not case reports on the treatment of FMS by oriental medicine. We got a effect on three patient with FMS by oriental medicine and this case is observed the clinical symptoms and scaled by VAS with chuna and acupuncture. Methods : We used to take chuna and acupunture, though classifcated by pathologic symptom and classification criteria of American College of Rheumatology. Result : Usually, most patients with FMS on the chronic stage have chronic prognosis. But symptoms of the patient on this report were improved after above treatments. Conclusion : This case showed oriental medicine enough could be applied on diseases like this syndrome as one of conservative therapies. Of course, more accurate diagnosis and research would be needed afterwards.

The purpose of this study is to investigate safety consciousness of seafares'. The subjects were 437 seafaes' who took a safety education course in Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology. This questionnaire was focused on finding the basic data for prevention of industrial accidents, and getting the public opinions and proposals of seafares'. The results obtained by this study are as follows : The average score of safety consciousness for seafares' were 68.82. Current position level of education navigation area classification of ships, ship size, ship age showed significant difference in statistics(p<0.01). Based on these results, this research pointed out the need to review the training manual, development of educational programs, improvement of facilities to improve safety education of ship, etc.
