The purposes of this study are to not only estimate optimal harvests and efforts using the surplus production methods for Spanish mackerel caught by multiple fishing gears, but provide dynamic optimal fisheries management for these gears using the current value Hamiltonian method. To achieve the above purposes this study uses several models such as Gavaris's general linear model for standardizing fishing efforts, surplus production method for estimating biological and technological coefficients, current value Hamiltonian method for estimating dynamic optimal harvest and efforts, and sensitivity analysis for diagnosing economic influences of these fisheries. As a result, this study showed that Spanish mackerel was overfished by multiple fishing gears based on surplus production method and the current value Hamiltonian method. Also, this study found that when the price and cost proportionally changed, the optimal harvest and fishing effort sensitively responded to the stock level of Spanish mackerel. Next, this study suggested that the multiple fishing gears for Spanish mackerel should reduce unnecessary costs such as operating time or inefficient fuel consumption. Finally, this study provided reasons Spanish mackerel should be included in the TAC system in a view of profit maximization based on sustainable use of the Spanish mackerel.

DTM(Digital Terrain Model) can play a key rule in a great number of the fields of construction Engineering. One of the most important application fields is to determine volume in that the total construction expenses is usually calculated through this. It therefore is necessary to the study on improving the precise of the determination using DTM on account of saving time and cost. On this study, 1:5000 topographic maps issued by NGI in 15 districts involved in Pusan city was digitalized to generate DTM at first. After this step, not only was the determination of the volume as well as readjusted area and height done for the sake of estimating the changable topography caused by cut & fill volume in future but also provided the model to calculate it as results. In addition, comparison among the interpolations, such as Inverse Distance Method and Nearest Neighbor, was respectively done to look over the differences of the volume estimated from each interpolation and also to find the most suitable method. As a result, the former yielded the largest values of area and the volume while the latter gave the smallest ones. Moreover, the values estimated on this study were closely similar to ones obtained by the government of Pusan.
This study aims to estimate chlorophyll-a concentration in rivers using multi-spectral RapidEye imagery and Spectral Mixture Analysis (SMA) and assess the applicability of SMA for multi-temporal imagery analysis. Comparison between images (acquired on Oct. and Nov., 2013) predicted and ground reference chlorophyll-a concentration showed significant performance statistically with determination coefficients of 0.49 and 0.51, respectively. Two band (Red-RE) model for the October and November 2013 RapidEye images showed low performance with coefficient of determinations ($R^2$) of 0.26 and 0.16, respectively. Also Three band (Red-RE-NIR) model showed different performance with $R^2$ of 0.016 and 0.304, respectively. SMA derived Chlorophyll-a concentrations showed relatively higher accuracy than band ratio models based values. SMA was the most appropriate method to calculate Chlorophyll-a concentration using images which were acquired on period of low Chlorophyll-a concentrations. The results of SMA for multi-temporal imagery showed low performance because of the spatio-temporal variation of each end members. This approach provides the potential of providing a cost effective method of monitoring river water quality and management using multi-spectral imagery. In addition, the calculated Chlorophyll-a concentrations using multi-spectral RapidEye imagery can be applied to water quality modeling, enhancing the predicting accuracy.

Assessment of soil erosion is a cost and time-consuming task. There are many models developed to predict soil erosion from an area, but Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) is most widely used empirical equation for estimating annual soil erosion. Soil erosion depends upon-rainfall intensity, type of soil, land cover and land use, slope degree, slope length and soil conservation practice. All these parameters are have spatial distribution and hence satellite remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) are applicable in the assessment of the influence on soil erosion. GIS has been integrated with the USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) model in identification of rainfall-based erosion to the Bocheong River which is the representative basin of IHP due to Typhoon Rusa. Similar studies are available in literature, ranging from those that use a simple model such as USLE to others of a more sophisticated nature.
The purpose of this study is to review the various valuation techniques of intangible assets. The value of intangible asset by the income approach can be measured as the present value of the economic benefit over the intangible asset's remaining useful life. The typical methods used in intangible asset economic income projections include extrapolation method, life cycle analyses, sensitivity analyses, simulation analyses, judgment method, and tabula rasa method. There are several methods available for estimating capitalization rates and discount rates for intangible asset, in which we have discussed market extraction method, capital asset pricing model, built-up method, discounted cash flow model, and weighted average cost of capital method. As the capitalization methods for intangible asset, relief-from-royalty method, excess earnings capitalization method, profit split method, residual from business enterprise method, postulated loss of income method and so on have been reviewed.
This study aimed to suggest a 1300 scale of a middle school foodservice facility floor plan which was compliant to the principle of HACCP, as well as ensuring food and work safety, and the flow of personnel and food materials. which consisted of 46 nutrition teachers and 6 experts, responded with a questionnaire on the relationship of functional area and space. Using their opinions, key principles for the design of the facility were single direction movement of food materials, customers and workers; minimization of the cross-contamination through the separation of functional space; and securement of customer-focused efficiency; staff-centered convenience and efficiency; and work and food safety. After the completion of an adjacency diagram, bubble diagram and program statement, the functional areas of a 1300 scale middle school food-service facility were allocated as follows: $9.9\;m^2$ for the receiving area, $56.1\;m^2$ for the pre-preparation area, $10.5\;m^2$ for the food storage area, $6.0\;m^2$ for the supplies storage area, $97.8\;m^2$ for the cooking area, $33.6\;m^2$ for the service area, $52.5\;m^2$ for dish washing area, cafeteria $410.5\;m^2$, $4.5\;m^2$ for the front room, for a total of $725.8\;m^2$. Expert groups have pointed to limitations within this model as there are no windows in the office for the influx of fresh outside air and a need for the straight line installation of steam-jacket and frying kettles on the sides of windows. This study can be useful as the guidelines for estimating the investment cost of the facility and placing the placement of functional areas and equipment in the renovation of the facility. It can be also useful data for a methodology of foodservice facility design.
It is known that damages to the subsea cables used for electric power transmission between islands and countries, including renewable energy from offshore wind power, current, tides, etc., cost much to restore, which causes social and economic losses. Various types of fishing rigs and anchors have been reported to be the greatest hazards to subsea cables. It is possible to design and construct a suitable protection facility for a subsea cable by precisely estimating the underwater behavior of such hazardous apparatuses. In this study, numerical simulations of the underwater behaviors of various hazardous apparatuses were carried out using fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analysis as a basic study to simulate the actual behavior phenomena of hazardous apparatuses in relation to a subsea cable. In addition, the underwater drop characteristics according to the types of hazardous apparatuses were compared. In order to verify the accuracy of the FSI analysis method used in this study, we compared the test results for underwater drops of a steel ball bearing. Stock anchors, stockless anchors, and rocket piles, which were actually reported to be the cases of damage to subsea cables along the southwest coast of Korea, were considered as the hazardous apparatuses for the numerical simulations. Each hazardous apparatus was generated by a Lagrangian model and coupled with the fluid domain idealized by the Eulerian equation to construct the three-dimensional FSI analysis model. The accuracy of the numerical simulation results was verified by comparing them with the analytical solutions, and the underwater drop characteristics according to the types of hazard apparatuses were compared.

This paper concentrated on estimating the travel time value of individual regional bus passengers in various in-vehicle crowding conditions. In the analysis model, the traffic-selection data of individual transportation passengers based on smart-card data were used. Variables which reflect the level of in-vehicle crowding and the variables of in-vehicle travel time that reflect the level of in-vehicle crowding were included in the model using Box-Cox transformation. The result of this paper indicates that the travel time value experienced by individual users would increase as the in-vehicle crowding level increases. The smart card data used in this paper is considered to have significant implications in terms of conducting more sophisticated and realistic qualitative research to reflect the values of variables for in-vehicle traffic hours and in-vehicle crowding levels, which previously had limitations in observation and quantification. It is expected that the effects of improvement measures for reducing congestion on regional buses can be considered quantitatively by applying the estimation results of crowding multiplier.
Bulk trailers, used for the transportation of powdered materials, such as cement and fly ash, are crucial in the construction industry. The speedy exhaustion of powdered materials stored in the tank of bulk trailers is relevant to improving transportation efficiency and reducing transportation costs. The exhaust time can be reduced by developing an automatic control system to replace the manual exhaust operation. The instantaneous or accumulated exhausts of powdered materials must be measured for automatic control of the bulk trailer exhaust system. Accordingly, we previously proposed a recurrent neural network (RNN) model that estimated the instantaneous exhaust based on low-cost pressure sensor signals without an expensive flowmeter for powders. Although our previous study utilized only an RNN model, models such as multilayer perceptron (MLP) and convolutional neural network (CNN) are also widely utilized for time-series estimation. This study compares the performance of three neural network models (MLP, CNN, and RNN) in estimating instantaneous and accumulated exhausts. In terms of the instantaneous exhaust estimation, the difference in the performance of neural network models was insignificant (that is, 8.64, 8.62, and 8.56% for the MLP, CNN, and RNN, respectively, in terms of the normalized root mean squared error). However, in the case of the accumulated exhaust, the performance was excellent in the order of CNN (1.67%), MLP (2.03%), and RNN (2.20%).
Container terminals at Gwangyang Port are operated by three container operators: A, B and C. Ultimately, there is consensus that a single operator should operate all terminals so that economies of scale can be achieved even in the operation of the container terminal. Integration between operators has a positive effect on both operators and shipping companies. From the operator's point of view, overlapping fixed costs between operators can be unified, reducing overall costs and utilizing spare facilities. On the other hand, from the viewpoint of the shipping company, it is possible to ensure stable use of the port facilities and always allow berthing, reduce days on demurrage and ship waiting, and provide one-stop service for work. However, existing cases of operators' integration or relocation of terminals remained to estimate the expected effects of alternatives, emphasizing only the financial point of view. The port terminal is a large system, and it is important to consider that it is an aggregate of major logistics facilities and equipment. Moreover, if the estimation can be made by quantifying the expected effect, the justification of the terminals' relocation can be further emphasized. Therefore, it is very important to estimate the expected effect from the viewpoint of systemic operation. Moreover, the need for operators' integration can be further emphasized if it can be estimated through quantification of expected effects. Currently, three alternatives are considered as alternatives to the terminals' relocation, and in this study, the optimal plan was derived for the 3 alternatives by the linear planning model of the minimum shuttle transportation cost in the terminal. The optimal plan is alternative 2, which shows the most advantageous integration effect in terms of expected effects. Alternative 2 integrates the B terminal into the C terminal, and the A terminal operates independently as it is.
