CLINICALI MPROVEMENT OF SKIN AGING BY RETINOL CONTAINING PRODUCTS: WITH NON- INVASIVE METHODS

  • Retinol as well as RA is well known to have many beneficial effects on aged skin. But the skin irritation potential and unstable condition of the products containing them have been some problems in their cosmetic uses. So, retinol containing gel product was developed for less skin irritancy and more stability in cosmetic products. To examine the clinical effects of retinlo containing product, we used cilnicla non-invasive assessment techniques on 40 volunteers for 6 months maintaining double-blind test conditions. According to our results, the use of retinol containing product improved skin color and hydration level slightly. But there was no statistical differences. There was no erythema reaction compared to the use of RA. Especially, the skin elasticity increased above 20% and skin wrinkles of crows' feet region decreased more than 10%. Besides the instrumental analysis, a large majority of volnteers felt that their skin were improved in the case of wrunkles, elasticity, hydration and color.

Rapid and accurate identification of microorganisms contaminating cosmetic products based on DNA sequence homology

  • Because cosmetics are applied directly to human skin, contamination of such products by microorganisms should be carefully avoided. Since cosmetics are usually kept at room temperature and contain large amounts of nitrogen and carbon sources, they may easily become contaminated by a variety of microorganisms, such as bacteria, filamentous fungi, and yeasts. The rapid and accurate identification of these microorganisms is essential to prevent further expansion of such contamination and the damage it causes. However, more than 30 days and laboratory skills are usually necessary in order to identify microorganisms in cosmetic materials. These time and labor constraints may allow further damage of the cosmetic products and thereby harm the consumer.(omitted)

  • 분석하여 화장품 포장 디자인에 사용된 컬래버레이션 사례를 연구, 특히 쿠션화장품 중 캐릭터 이미지와 컬래버레이션 하여 화장품 디자인에 사용된 사례를 분석하였다. 화장품 디자인 컬래버레이션 연구를 통해 제품 가치와 브랜드 이미지를 제고시키고, 소비자에게 새롭고 개성 있는 제품을 제공하여 젊은층 소비자 그룹을 타겟팅, 유치하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 연구는 향후 화장품 포장 디자인을 하는데 참고할 만한 내용을 제공하리라 기대한다.

Comparison of Heavy Metal Contents in Eyeliner Products -Focused on Domestic and Foreign Cosmetic Brands-

  • Heavy metal ingredients of eyeliner product could cause side effect ranging from simple irritation, keratitis, corneal epithelium inflammation, eyelid dermatitis and dry eye symptoms have been reported. This study was conducted in order to prepare fundamental data for acceptable quality level heavy metal ingredients in the domestic and foreign cosmetic brand eyeliner products and to assess theirs the heavy metal concentrations. We measured the concentration of 5 heavy metals in 10 eyeliner products using ICP/MS-LC. According to the results, the average metal concentrations were as follows.; In case of domestic eyeliner products, 289.4 ppm for aluminium(Al), 304 ppm for manganese(Mn), 44 ppm for nickel(Ni), 0.58 ppm for arsenic(As) and 0.35 ppm for lead(Pb). In case of Foreign eyeliner products, 11337.8 ppm for aluminium(Al), 1678.8 ppm for manganese(Mn), 74.2 ppm for nickel(Ni), 1 ppm for arsenic(As) and 0.8 ppm for lead(Pb). Foreign products contained higher amounts of the two elements(Pb, As) compared to domestic ones. Also, greater concentrations of arsenic(As) were detected from waterproof products than non-waterproof ones. In conclusion, for safety reasons we suggested the amounts of heavy metals from the domestic and foreign eyeliner products. This finding will be helpful to provide the fundamental data which is standard of toxicological heavy metals acceptable on eyeliner products.

  • The first part of the paper concerneded about the history, meaning and function of the aromatherapy. And the next part is about the therapeutic effects by the inhalation fragrance or permeation of essential oil through the skin, which are all based on the recent experiments. Today, the aromatherapy is public interest in the world. And also many cosmetic companies have been making use of the aromatherapy as the concept of their new products. But any Korean manufacturer has not taken the application of the aromatherapy in the cosmetics. Why we can't do this. Therfore I try to explain this problem at the last part of the paper and also introduce some Aromatherapy products.

일본인 관광객의 국내 화장품 구매 시 점포만족도에 관한 연구 (The Study of Japanese Customers' Cosmetic Store Satisfaction when Tourists Purchase Korean Cosmetic Products)

  • This study examined the cosmetic store attributes that japanese tourists evaluated when purchasing cosmetics in korean cosmetic stores and the effect of those attributes on satisfaction, repurchase intention and recommendation intention. The subjects of this study were 250 Japanese female tourists who had purchase experiences of Korean cosmetics in the stores. Data analysis was conducted using factor analysis, regression analysis, and ANOVA using SPSS 15.0. The result of this study was as follows: First, cosmetic store attributes for Japanese tourists were composed of four factors such as products, store's atmosphere, salesperson and sales promotion. Second, it was shown that the salesperson and store atmosphere attributes have positive effect on cosmetic store satisfaction. Third, it was shown that store satisfaction had a positive effect on both repurchase intention and recommendation intention. Fourth, Japanese tourists' satisfaction on cosmetic store depends on the frequency of visiting Korea, and preference of the Korean Wave.

유기 자외선 흡수제의 조합과 용해도에 따른 자외선 차단 효율의 비교 및 안정성에 관한 연구 (Stability and Sun Protection Efficacy of Sunscreens Based on the Solubility and a Combination of Organic UV Absorbers)

  • 본 연구에서는 유기 자외선 흡수제와 오일들 간의 용해도에 따른 자외선 차단제의 안정성과 유기 자외선 흡수제의 조합에 따른 이들의 자외선 차단 효율 변화를 조사하여 보다 안정하고 효율이 높은 자외선 차단제품 개발에 도움이 되고자 하였다. 그 결과 오일의 종류, 농도 그리고 보관 조건에 따라서 유기 자외선 흡수제의 용해도 및 안정성이 다양하게 관찰되었으며, 이러한 현상은 에멀젼상에서도 자외선 차단지수에 영향을 나타냄을 확인하였다. 또한 유기 자외선 흡수제의 조합에 따라 다양한 자외선 흡광도가 측정되었으며, 조합 시 각각의 자체 흡광도보다 높은 시너지 효과를 나타내는 성분이 있었고, 특정 성분과의 조합 시에만 시너지 효과가 나타나는 경우도 있었다. 보관 조건에 따라서도 자외선 흡광도는 상이하게 측정되어, 자외선 차단 효율에 영향을 나타내는 다양한 변수가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

파우더 베이스 메이크업 제품의 지속성 평가 방법 연구 (A Study of Cosmetic Sustainability Evaluation of Powder Base Make-up Products)

  • 파우더 베이스 메이크업 제품은 피부에 도포되어 8 ~ 12시간 동안 부착되며 피부에서 분비되는 땀이나 피지 등의 분비물에 의해 화장막이 변화된다. 따라서 메이크업 화장의 지속성은 중요한 품질 요소 중 하나이며 평가도 중요하다. 본 연구는 파우더 제품에서 지속성 평가를 위해 여러 가지 방법으로 파우더 반제품의 흡수, 흡유, 발수, 발유 등의 특성을 측정해보고 객관적인 평가 방법과 비교하여 연관성을 확인하여 지속성 평가 시 중요한 파우더의 특성을 살펴보았다. 또한 평가조건(땀과 피지 분비량 차이, 기온 및 습도 등)에 크게 영향을 받지 않으면서 지속성을 예측할 수 있는 간단한 방법을 검토해보았다. 타정 흡유도와 모세관법 및 침지법 등으로 반제품의 흡수, 흡유, 발수, 발유 특성을 측정해본 후 색차계와 ROBO skin analyzer 데이터와 비교하였다. 그 결과 흡수, 발유 특성보다는 흡유와 발수 특성이 지속성과의 연관성이 크다는 것을 확인할 수 있었고 흡유, 발수 특성을 확인하는 것으로 빠르고 손쉽게 지속성에 대한 예측이 가능하리라 생각되었다. 그 중 흡유 특성은 타정 흡유도와 모세관법이, 발수 특성은 침지법이 지속성에 대한 상대평가 방법으로 유용할 것이라고 판단되었다.

Key Determinants of Repurchase Intention toward Organic Cosmetics

  • This paper aims to discover factors and their influences degree to repurchase organic cosmetic in Vietnam. In addition, this research also discloses the main segments that have high demand re-buying intention based on demographic groups of gender, age, income, educational level, job, type of products, and place of production. Twenty-eight scale was designed based on previous studies and adjusted to match the 5-point Likert scale to conduct measurement. By using survey method to test hypotheses and set up conceptual models to collect 295 Vietnamese consumers who have experience in consuming organic cosmetic by explain the results through Smart PLS software. The findings show that there is positive attitude of customers to the intention of acquiring organic cosmetics, green perceived and customer satisfaction. In addition, customer satisfaction, knowledge of products, safety values, and environmental protection consciousness also play important roles to form a positive attitude of customers for products. Moreover, the consciousness of green living of consumers accounts for a high proportion in creating customer satisfaction for organic products. The results show useful information for current premises to determine the factors that influence the decision to repurchase organic cosmetic product, that provide business strategies.
